History of the world(pt.1)

A week later, after Flint's body got its strength back. First thing he did was get to a mirror to check how he looks, memories that he had of the current life of course had that information. But he still had to understand it, and feel it. When he got to the bathroom mirror, he saw that he had green hair just like his father and pointier ears than a human, but not as a pure-blood elf like his father. The eyes seemed different from what they were in his memories though. They were the color of a blue sky, not amber like his father's, nor gray like his mother's and even different from his past life's. Something had clearly happened to him, other than the reincarnation.

"That's strange, I'm pretty sure I had my fathers eye color. Did something change because of the transfer or did the experiment alter something in my body. My parents didn't mention anything about this, maybe I should ask."

After checking if anything else had changed, he took a shower and wore a new set of clothes.

"Well, now I just need to go get food and go to a library and see if there are any history books. If I meet father or mother, I might ask them about my eye color and if there are any books on history."

Flint walked out of his room and went straight to the dining room. There he saw his mother eating, while looking at a hand terminal. The terminal looked different from what it was in his past life.

'Yeah, this truly is the future. There is no screen anymore, just a projection eh...' Thought Flint.

"Good morning mother. How are you?"

Mary looked away from the terminal and smiled at Flint.

"Good morning, I'm fine and how are you honey?"

"I'm fine as well, can finally move like a normal person. Though there still is some numbness. Speaking of which, mother. Had the doctor said anything about my eye color change? I saw myself in the mirror today and was a bit surprised, because of it. Weren't they amber, like father's?"

"Ah! I forgot to tell you about that, while you were getting rest. The doctor said that the explosion might have jolted you brain, which changed the pigments in your eyes. But he didn't find anything wrong otherwise, so that will just be something to remind you to be careful in the future." Said Mary, smiling. "Anyway, sit down to eat. Even though you were resting for a week and eating fine, you still lost some weight."

"Okay!"

Flint sat behind the table and started eating. He ate carefully at first, but the food was tasty and so he sped up. He truly felt hunger, as while resting he couldn't eat much and there were no solid foods.

He ate quite a lot. Even Mary looked at him in wonder, asking herself how much he can eat. It took Flint five plates, to have the feeling of being full appear. He himself didn't think that it was much, as he was truly hungry at the time. After finishing the last plate, he asked a question that had bugged him this whole morning.

"Mother, do we have any books on world history in the library or anywhere in the house?"

Mary, thought for a bit at the question and asked Flint.

"Why do you need books on world history? It's not like there is much information on your theme of study in there."

"Ah, I thought that I might find some inspiration in them. Honestly, if possible I'd also like to find books on magic and science history." Told Flint, an answer that he thought of during the few days, to Mary.

After hearing his answer, Mary tried to remember if there were any books on history in their house.

"I think there were a couple of books in the library and there definitely are books on magic and science history, in your father's and my own study. I'll try to look for those and bring them to you. As for world history, though there should be some in the library I don't remember where exactly, so you'll have to try to find them on your own."

"Okay, I'll go to the library then. Can you bring them there?"

"Yeah, there's not problem. I'll go look after I finish my breakfast."

With that Flint went to the library to look for the books he needed.

A few minutes later, he got to the library and looked at it awestruck. There were quite a lot of rows of shelves with a ton of books on each one. He cursed at himself for thinking that it wouldn't take long to find them.

"God damn it, even in the age, where you can just digitally save everything, there are still books. Your mother... Ah whatever, at least everything is sorted in alphabetical order and by topic."

Still looking at the library. As if a light bulb lit over his head, he slapped himself on his forehead.

"Ah! I'm so fucking dumb, with all the reincarnation stuff, I forgot to check the current year. Ha..." Sighed Flint at his own stupidity.

"Really... I guess, I might then check it all now. Lets go to the terminal, while I'm at it." Said he to himself, while walking to the terminal.

After he got there and started up the terminal. He looked at the current date and was speechless. If you saw him right now, you could literally say that he had his jaw to the floor. It's been seven hundred and twenty years, since the date he went on his last mission in the past life. What's interesting is that the day and month he woke up is the same as when he died on his last mission.

"Well... That's interesting, did I time travel or something? Questions are just piling up every time, and there are no answers to them readily available." Scratched Flint his head. "What was in the past, should stay in the past. And I really need to stop being bothered by these things."

He took a long breath, set his mind straight and went to the history section. Once there he saw that there were quite a number of books on the topic, but a layer of dust was settled on all of them.

"I guess, I will have to clean it all up first. Good thing there are cleaning supplies nearby." As he said that, Flint started cleaning.
