6 Chapter 6 : Going to the forest.

Eren was pleased of his first harvest as not only did it gave him tons of fresh cabbages but also allowed him to level earning him two bags of cabbage seeds as a reward. That's similar to earning an extra 300 gold coins!

Every gold coins matters to Eren as he will be needing lots of those things if he wanted to grow higher level crops so these kind of unexpected bonuses are very much welcome. At least he doesn't have to worry about the seeds he will use for the next two planting batch.

Eren put everything inside the barn before he went inside the thatched house. He was about to start cooking some of the cabbages so Eren directly head towards the kitchen.

" System, show me the condiments available in the shop. "

[ There's only 3 basic condiments available in the shop as the system encourage the host to produce everything you need on your own. The only available are salt, cooking oil, and black pepper. Do you want to buy some of them, Host? ] The farm system replied to Eren.

Hearing that, Eren didn't feel disappointed on this but felt relieved instead because he knows just how rare and valuable the salt is inside the Walls. He might even make an enormous amount of money easily if ever he will try to bring some salt outside and sell them. But after thinking about it, Eren decided to hold the idea for now as he needs/wants to stay low key for the time being.

To his surprised, Eren saw that those 3 condiments are super cheap. He only spent 5 gold coins to buy 3 small bag of salt, 5 packs of pepper and a gallon of cooking oil. That's almost nothing to him!

Eren made 3 dishes out of cabbages. Boiled, sauteed and salad.

He didn't know what Mikasa and Armin's preferences are so Eren cooked tree types. When he was done, Eren went out of the spatial farm with the dishes on his hands.

Putting the food on the table, he covered it with a wooden lid before turning around and sat down on the bed waiting for both Mikasa and Armin to return.

30 minutes later...

" Eren, we are back! " Armin shouted from the outside as he stormed the room excitedly. " Look, we also managed to get an extra bread for you! "

Mikasa also followed behind Armin as she nodded at Eren.

" Welcome back Mikasa, Armin. Put the bread beside those dishes over there and wash your hand first so we can start eating. " Eren said as he pointed at the table where three plates are covered.

Armin followed what Eren said and went to the table. He puts down the bread on the table while Mikasa went to the kitchen to wash her hands.

Out of curiosity, Armin lifted up the cover of one of the plates on the table and as he do so, he became stunned.

" Eren, this.... are vegetable... dish right? *gulp* W..where did you get these? " as he said that, Armin opened the 2 more plates on the table and became even more shocked. His saliva started to filling up his mouth.

It's like seeing an extremely seductive naked beauty in front of him, Armin can't help but want to start digging on these vegetable dishes.

" I told you yesterday right? That I'll let you and Mikasa eat some vegetable dishes? Here it is now, but I only has cabbages for now so bear with it for now.. Maybe we'll have potatoes or maybe corn in the future. But before that... " Eren. stood up and put his hands on Armin's shoulders, turning him to face the batroom. " Go and wash your hands first. We can talk later again later as we eat. "

" Eh? But.. " Armin still wanted to ask more questions but Eren was pushing him towards the bathroom without saying anything. Having no other choice, Armin can only follow what Eren said.

It didn't took awhile before Mikasa and Armin returned back to the table and joined Eren who has been sitting there, waiting for them.

Seeing the dishes on the table, Mikasa also became surprised. " How long has it been since she the last time she saw these kind of food? " Eren.. these are.. "

She and Armin, wanted to know how and where did Eren got these cabbages.

Eren scratches the back of his head as he began contemplating wether he will tell them the truth or not.

A few moments later, he asked, " Mikasa, Armin do you trust me? "

Mikasa and Armin was confused on Eren's question but they still both nodded their head saying that they did.

" Thank you. I also trust you two but, I can't tell you yet where did I got all of these cabbages because it's quite hard to explain. I promise to tell you guys about it in the future okay? "

Revealing the existence of his Spatial Farm now will only lead to more and more questions so he wanted to hide it's existence if possible..

Armin and Mikasa felt disappointed, but since Eren didn't want to tell them then thy can't do anything about it.

It's.. it's not illegal right, Eren? " Mikasa asked in worried tone.

" Mn. Don't worry, Mikasa. It's definitely not illegal. " Eren answered.

Mikasa smiled when she heard that and said,. " Okay then, I will wait for you to tell us someday. "

" Mn. Please tell us when you're ready, Eren. " Armin added.

" Alright, I promised. Now let's start eating. Here, try this boiled cabbage Mikasa. " Eren said as he put a sliced of boiled cabbage in Mikasa's plate.

" Thank you. " Mikasa answered happily as she gladly received Eren's offer.

Armin took the salad and put some of it in his plate too.

" S... so delicious! " Arming exclaimed maniacally. " Eren...d-did you put salt in this dish? You put salt in it right? "

" Yes, I also managed to get some salt so I put some of it there. Look, I put the rest of it in that bag over there. " Eren answered as he pointed at the medium size bag at the kitchen.

" Really?! That's amazing Eren! It's already been a long time since I eat a food with flavor. " Armin said excitedly.

" I know, but don't worry Armin because I can still get more of these salt so perhaps we won't ran out of supply from now on. " Eren said to Armin before turning to Mikasa who still eating gracefully but none stop.

Mikasa seems to enjoy the boiled cabbages Eren gave her. The fact that it was the first food Eren gave to her directly sealed this God as her favorite. Although she also tasted the other two dishes, she didn't eat much. Instead Mikasa took more boiled cabbages as she paired it to the tasteless bread they got at the plaza earlier .

The trio then continued eating like that until all of the cabbage dish was gone and they start cleaning the table and the plates they used.

" That's the tastiest meaI I had for a long time Eren. " Armin stated, still reminiscing the aftertaste of the food they just ate.

" Me too. I'll go wash the plates and cups we used. " Mikasa said as she stood up and went to the kitchen. Armin wanted to help Mikasa but Eren stopped him and pulled him outside the house.

" Why did you bring me here for, Eren, do you need anything? " Armin asked.

" Yes, I need your help Armin. I still have 30 more pieces of cabbages and I wanted you to asked Hannes, that old drunkard if he knows a place we can sell them. Can you do that, Armin? "

" Of course I can do that. But do you really have more of those cabbages? Where are they? "

" Yes, I have more. I put them at the back of our house. You better go now then so you can come back before it gets dark. Just sell 25 cabbages and give the 5 cabbages to Hannes so he can give it to his family. But make sure to remind him that he must keep everything secret you understand? "

" Mn. I'll do that. Is there anything else? " Armin nodded and asked.

" Right after you sell the cabbages, buy some potatoes just enough for two meals and used the rest to buy seeds and other plants available there. Buy as many different classes as you can. If there's still money left, go buy some clothes for the three of us and a few brand new bed sheets. "

Armin got confused what will Eren need those plants and seeds for but he didn't asked. " Alright then, I'll look for a wagon first as I don't think I can carry those 30 cabbages by myself. See you later Eren. "

After a few minutes, Armin came back pulling a small wooden wagon behind him.

" Here Eren, I borrowed it to our neighbors over there. They said that we can keep it as they don't need it anymore after they become a refugee. Let's put the cabbages here now? "

Alright, follow me. " Eren then led Armin to the back of their house. The two of them then started putting the cabbages in the wagon one after another. It didn't took much time before they finished and Armin bid his farewell to Eren before he left while pulling the wagon with him.

Eren watched Armin's figure till it completely disappeared before he once again went inside the house to look for Mikasa.

" I want to go to the forest, do you want to come with me, Mikasa? "

" The forest? Sure, I'll go with you. But what are we gonna do there, Eren? All of the plants that can be eaten was already taken by the other refugees. " Mikasa said, thinking that Eren wanted to go to the forest to look for food.

" Good. Let's go now, then. " Eren said as he grabbed Mikasa's hand and started pulling her with him.

Mikasa blushed when Eren grabbed her hand but didn't pull it back and just let him do it. She was happy that Eren finally started to show his care for her because he always ten to act cold towards her before.

" Wait a moment Erenwhat about Armin? "

" I sent him to do something so he's not around. "

" Oh.. "

In the forest.

While the two of them are walking side by side, Eren began talking to Mikasa about interesting things he knew. Eren also pulls out jokes he from his past life which made Mikasa giggled from time to time.

Eren did enjoy seeing Mikasa laughing like this unlike the previous her in the canon.

" What do you need these plants and small branches for, Eren? Are they useful? " asked Mikasa after following Eren for awhile.

" Mn. They are useful to me. "

" Can I help? Tell me what to do, Eren. "

" Erm...okay. Hold onto this then. " said Eren as he handed the things he gathered to Mikasa. Which she happily received.

" I'll take care of it. " Mikasa replied as she followed Eren inside the forest.

The two of them then began taking parts or seeds of all the plants they can see inside the forest. Mikasa didn't know what Eren need these plants for but she chose to trust him and didn't asked any further questions. She's already satisfied and happy now that Eren doesn't seem to avoiding her anymore unlike before.

After gathering plant samples for two hours, Mikasa and Eren decided to take a rest so they sat under a big tree . Eren took out two water container from his spatial farm and gave it to Mikasa which she accepted and drink it.

" Eren, this water, where did you get it? " Mikasa asked. She didn't see Eren brought any water with him when they left earlier.
