Chapter 51: Battle

"Listen, buddy, Pepper is in danger. Even with that smiling SHIELD agent by her side, it won't change anything. I'm begging you, go help her!"

"That's why I called you to get the necklace."

Oaks sighed, stood up, and walked towards the coat rack.

"What's going on? Where's Pepper? The smiling SHIELD agent? Coulson? Danger? Who's the enemy?"

After a quick explanation, Tony saw that the reactor's power had dropped to only 48%!

"Your speed is more than Mach 5, isn't it?"

"Damn, I'm crossing three time zones! The fastest is Mach 10."

"That's enough, you can make it in thirteen and a half minutes! I need fifteen minutes!"

Tony breathed a sigh of relief. He had anticipated that Oaks would hide his abilities, but he never expected him to have so many!

But the more hidden, the better!

As for those agents...

To hell with them, a bunch of idiots. They took Pepper into danger without investigating properly!

"I understand, but my powers are limited. The priority is to protect Miss Pepper. I'll observe Obadiah's firepower capabilities before taking action."

When Oaks arrived at Stark Industries headquarters, Pepper had just escaped from the building.

"Miss Pepper, please follow me."

"Chairman Oaks?!"

Through her earpiece, Pepper heard Tony let out a breath. He still needed some time to arrive, but according to the radar detection, the energy reaction from his original Arc Reactor was underground where Pepper was standing!

"Pepper, get away from there! Go with Oaks!"

"What?"

Furrowing his brow, Oaks approached Pepper and pulled her along. He leaped backward, and the ground in their previous location suddenly cracked open, revealing a massive steel arm extending out!

"What about Agent Coulson?"

"They're still inside!"

Pepper looked at Obadiah, who emerged from the hole, with a mix of shock and suspicion. She had been running too fast earlier and didn't get a good look at the armor.

"Tsk, it's too ugly."

"Huh?"

Pepper was taken aback. Did Oaks mean that he had seen Tony's armor? No wonder Tony asked him to come... Wait a minute!

Wasn't he just a plant shop owner? What could he do by coming here? And wasn't he in New York?

"Oaks? The chairman of a mere charity organization, do you also want to get involved in today's affairs?"

Obadiah recognized the red-haired young man in front of him. He had attended events organized by the Benevolence Society.

But this guy in front of him was undoubtedly Tony's friend. Did Tony ask him to come here to pick up Pepper?

However, he immediately used the propulsion thrusters at his feet to unleash a blast of flames, drying out the vines and breaking free!

"So, you're not an ordinary person, a wizard? But it's meaningless!"

Obadiah laughed maniacally, watching as Oaks stuffed Pepper into the SHIELD vehicle and urged her to leave. He then raised the Gatling gun attached to his right arm.

"None of you are getting away!"

"Boom! Click, click, click..."

"Damn it!"

Countless branches entwined and clogged the gun's magazine, revolving cylinder, and muzzle, causing the gun to explode!

But that was nothing. Obadiah immediately activated the thrusters and charged toward them!

"Feel the power of this armor!"

"It never ends!"

"Boom!"

"Pepper—huh?!"

Tony finally arrived, but all the words he wanted to say got stuck in his throat.

Because the first sight he saw was the massive Iron Monger suit being slapped away, crashing onto the street.

That's right, slapped away. In its place was a gigantic... bear?

Anyway, the familiar emerald green glow enveloping the figure allowed Tony to immediately confirm his identity.

"Wow, a teddy bear? So fierce!"

Obadiah, who was sent flying onto the street, regained consciousness amidst the blaring horns of cars—

He almost choked to death as Oaks patted his back through the armor!

If it weren't for the fact that the Iron Monger suit was incredibly sturdy and had amazing protective capabilities, this slap would have probably embedded him into the suit.

Nevertheless, there were some deformations on the Iron Monger's chest plate.

"What kind of monster is that?!"

Without JARVIS' assistance, Obadiah couldn't see clearly what had sent him flying, but it was definitely connected to that red-haired kid!

And as soon as he regained consciousness, he noticed Tony hovering in mid-air!

For the moment, he didn't have time to think about the red-haired kid anymore. The thorn in his side was right in front of him!

"Tony!"

Obadiah understood that as long as he took out Tony, the others would pose no threat to him at all! He had a thousand ways to play with that red-haired kid!

"It's been thirty years. No one can hinder me! Not even you!"
