Mayflower compact: Tribulation power

All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. What has been will be again What has been done will be done again There is nothing new under the sun . . What about beyond the sun?

Chapter 37:- Do you see all these things, I tell you, not one stone here will be left behind

Lucian crept through the darkened alleyways, the moonlight illuminating the narrow streets in an eerie blue glow. He moved with the agility of a cat, keeping to the shadows as he approached his target: the alchemy pill shop.

The shop was located in the heart of the city, and was rumored to contain some of the rarest and most valuable alchemy pills in the land.

Lucian knew that he would have to be careful, as the shop was heavily guarded and the owner was a powerful alchemist. But he was determined to steal the pills, no matter the risk.

As he approached the shop, he could...see that the building was surrounded by a tall, iron fence. There was only one way in: a small, barred window in the back of the building.

Lucian looked around to make sure no one was watching, then he began to climb the fence.

As he was nearing the top, he heard the sound of footsteps behind him.

He turned, and saw a shadowy figure approaching. He drew his dagger, ready to fight, but the figure called out in a low voice:

"There's no need for violence, my friend. I'm here to help you."

Lucian hesitated, but then recognized the figure as...an old man he had met at the shore a few days before.

The old man had claimed to be an member of the white lotus sect, and had asked Lucian how he knew information about the white lotus sect and the blood shadow organization.

Lucian relaxed his grip on the dagger, and the old man smiled. "Good. Now, come with me. I know a way in."

He led Lucian through a narrow alleyway, and then up a fire escape to the roof of a building next to the shop. From there, they were able to access a balcony overlooking the shop's courtyard. The old man pointed to a drainpipe running down the side...of the building.

"There's a hidden entrance in the drainpipe. I've already disabled the traps that protect it, so we can enter without danger."

Lucian hesitated. He knew that this was his chance to steal the alchemy pills, but he also knew that this was very risky.

However, he was determined to take the risk, and so he nodded to the old man.

The old man smiled again, and they began to climb down the drainpipe.

As they descended, Lucian couldn't help but feel a sense of dread...growing inside him.

He was sure that something was going to go wrong. But he continued to climb, until finally, they reached the end of the drainpipe. There, a small, metal grate covered a hole in the wall.

The old man reached into his pocket and pulled out a small key. He inserted it into a lock on the grate, and turned it. The grate swung open, revealing a dark tunnel.

"This will lead us to the shop's basement," the old man whispered.

"Follow me."

Lucian's heart was racing, but he followed the old man into the tunnel.

Human...the tunnel opened up into a large, cavernous room. The room was pitch-black, and Lucian could hear the sound of water dripping from the ceiling. But as his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he could see that the room was full of shelves, and each shelf was filled with small glass bottles.

The old man reached up and grabbed one of the bottles, and Lucian saw that it was filled with a bright red liquid.

"These are the alchemy pills," the old man whispered. "We must take as many as we can."

Lucian nodded, and they began to fill their pockets with the...red bottles. But as they were doing so, Lucian heard the sound of footsteps approaching from the other end of the room. He froze in terror, but the old man whispered, "Don't worry. I'll distract them while you escape."

Before Lucian could protest, the old man had disappeared into the darkness. Lucian heard the sound of a scuffle, and then he heard the old man shout, "Run! I'll be fine!"

Lucian didn't need any more encouragement. He turned and ran back down the tunnel, not knowing if the old man was safe or not....Lucian emerged from the tunnel and found himself back in the alleyway where they had entered. But as he looked around, he realized that the old man was nowhere to be found.

Lucian felt a wave of guilt wash over him, but he quickly pushed it aside. He had to escape, and he had the alchemy pills. That's all that mattered.

He ran through the city, trying to put as much distance between himself and the alchemy shop as possible. But as he was running, he heard the sound of footsteps behind him. Someone was following him.

He turned a corner and found himself in a...dead-end alley. He was trapped. He backed up against the wall, his heart pounding in his chest, as the footsteps grew closer. Then, a man emerged from the shadows, a cruel smile on his face.

It was the old man. But he was no longer an old man. He was young and strong, and his eyes glowed red. "I told you I would be fine," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "But now it's time for you to pay for what you've done."

Lucian tried to run, but the man was faster. He grabbed Lucian by the...throat and lifted him off the ground. "You stole from me," the man snarled. "You think you can get away with that?"

Lucian gasped for air, his hands scrabbling at the man's arm. "Please!" he choked out. "I didn't mean to! I was only trying to survive!"

The man's eyes blazed even brighter, and he tightened his grip. "You are not worthy of survival. You are nothing but a thief and a coward."

Lucian's vision began to blur, and he felt himself slipping away. But then, he heard a voice.

"Enough of the bully, you are scaring him."

Looking at the place he was before empty. The white lotus sect people were shocked,"where did he go?"

'Mynus, How did you do that?'

'Being a soul doesn't change the fact I was a god. At least we stole all the pills even under that sect member.'

'Really, I stole it not you. I left nothing behind....'
