CHAPTER 15 BEFORE THE BOSS FIGHT

The sounds of players moving about in close proximity , in an enclosed space, uncertainty and doubt could be felt in the air.

Everyone was on edge because the death rate of players since the game started is upto to 1000 and counting everyday.

You could feel the distrust and wariness from all those present in this place, the atmosphere was so tense you could cut it with a blade.

There were some rumours going around already about possible pkers in the game at this point in time so it was very difficult to be trusting of strangers.

Michael and miku shuffled into the open air auditorium silently, managing to still draw some looks despite the tense atmosphere.

 Miku's figure in her golden ensemble and her graceful visage displays a demeanour reminiscent of nobility and michael's stern look and neatly dressed attire would no doubt turn some heads in their direction regardless of the situation.

At this time, a player steps forward to begin the meeting. He was dressed in blue knight like armor, having blue long hair and eyes.

"Thanks for coming today everyone, my name is Diavel and my class is knight" The knight now named Diavel introduced himself and class, not that there as such a thing in SAO.

Laughter could be heard among the audience as they got the joke about his class as there is no such thing in sword art online.

 After the tensions have been eased and the players were more receptive to his words,

Diavel began

"I know many of you here today have already guessed the reason for this meeting as it as bound to happen sooner or later."

Taking in a deep breath he added

 " The boss room has been found" In a grave tone stimulating varying reactions from all the players present, some were happy, some frightened and others stumped but in the midst of such news, Michael smirked in anticipation eagerly waiting the boss battle.

Taking quick short breaths he successfully masked his excitement to avoid unnecessary attention.

Diavel continued to explain about the boss monster, it's minions and it's attack phases.

"The boss's name is Illfang the kobold lord, He is followed by 4 ruin kobold sentinels." turning the page of the small booklet over he continued

"The boss has 4 hp gauges, he uses an axe and shield and when his Hp goes below 20% and he goes into rage mode then he discards his weapons and uses a nodachi instead" Diavel finished reading the info from the book.

The book is a product that came out about 2 weeks into the game and it gets updated with current info regularly to help the players survive better in the game and rumours say that this book as written and is being updated by the beta testers to help to new players adapt to Aincrad easier But nothing has been confirmed so far so the jury is still out on that one.

Murmurs began to spread among the players present, most were wondering where this info came from as it's much too detailed to be just a rough summary, then some one stepped up to put those questions to the crowd.

 He has a short stature, some may even call him hobbit like, sporting orange spikey hair like a cactus, sword on his back he descended to the stage, clear arrogance in his stride and total disregard of anyone's opinion could be seen in his visage.

Michael looked to miku and they both knew this guy would be trouble and oh how right they were.

"I have a matter that I want to address first before anything else" Jumping onto the stage, He began speaking without preamble or pause.

" My name is kibaou ,first of all, I wanna know how this info about the boss was spread and the source of said info could only be a beta player" He stopped for a bit to gauge the crowds reaction before adding

"The beta players have been taking all the good hunting spots and easy quests to level up faster since this game began and left all the difficult quests and dangerous hunting spots to us newbies leading to the deaths of more players" He said angrily trying to the incite the anger of the present players and bringing them to his side.

Michael could see that he doesn't care for the so called dead newbies that he was talking about but only using them as a way to push his own agenda forward.

 He could relate with him from a logical standpoint but the current michael just couldn't feel alright knowing what he knows and already resolved himself to step in if kibaou goes too far with his demands after all beta players still take the same risks as other players.

"Because of them, the numbers of deaths have been exponentially higher and We can't just trust the them to fight beside us" kibaou continues then he drops his pitch

"beta players come out, apologize to those who you killed and while you are at it, give up all the money and items you gained from those easy quests" He demands suddenly also receiving support from the other players.

Michael could see some beta players present feeling nervous and contemplating coming forward such as kirito but he decided to wait and see.

At this time some one else stood  up, He was a person with dark skin colour, a shaven head and considerable height, a two handed axe attached to his back.

" I have something to say" The huge man said, walking to the stage in large strides, his figure was intimidating to kibaou as he approached him.

Arriving in front of him, his figure cut a shadow looming over kibaou further drowning his presence and stopping his momentum in it's tracks.

The audience quiet down as the large man appeared on stage then turned to face them.

"My name is Agil" He introduced himself then added " I wanna ask a question".

Raising the small handbook that diavel had been reading from previously he continued

" I'm pretty sure many of you have gotten a copy of this guidebook. It's updated regularly with the latest info about the game.

 How to fight better, the easy levelling spot and a bunch of other useful information".

Turning back to kibaou for a short moment he looked to diavel who gave him a nod then he continued

" Where do you think all this information came from, it was the beta testers. They were the ones who spread this info and saved a lot of lives, do you still think it's right for us to accuse them of the deaths that occurred when we should be thanking them".

Kibaou gritted his teeth in fury as Agil finished his engaging speech, he knew his plan has been foiled so he clicked his teeth in frustration as he saw the peanut gallery agreeing with agil.

He dragged his feet back to his seat to leave room for diavel to continue, so did Agil.

Diavel continued from where he left of " As I was saying, from the info we've been able to glean so far, we have to form small parties of about 5 groups to take on the boss and it's minions"

immediately he said that, every one began grouping up with their respective acquaintances and cliques.

 Kirito seeing the situation panicked and began to look for a group to join...spotting miku and michael he was about to approach them but saw them partying with someone else.

Seeing asuna at the corner of the room he quickly scooched over asking her to party with him as there were the only ones close to each other not in a party.

Michael saw miku looking at a little guy approaching them.

The dude has light blue long hair, held together with hair clips and he could be described as pretty looking.

He looked like one of those trap characters and if not for michael's expert observation skills he would have been fooled too.

He could just feel that there would be something special about this new character and he is determined to find out, he felt the same thing with asuna....it was some kind of sixth sense that he has been developing recently and it was very faint with this one as he was unconsciously limiting himself.

 This is a new project for him to work on, he's gonna go nuts with it.
