Chapter 22

It’s been three days since the last rogue attack. Things have been quiet, and we haven’t received any more messages. I have had people try to locate Dominic, but all efforts have turned up empty. Bastard, our prisoner, was murdered. We don’t know who did it, but we believe it has to be someone in our pack. We had no reports of intruders, and it was done between shifts. I’m waiting for Melanie and Jax to come to my office so we can meet and figure out what to do next.

Jax walks into my office with Melanie on his heels. They both sit on my couch while I’m at my desk. “Any information about the murder?” I ask them both.

“Nothing Alpha. The guards were late because they were told that the shift would be delayed for 15 minutes. They say they got the information from other warriors but no one can definitively point to whoever started that rumor,” Melanie responded.
