Chapter 21

It took me 30 minutes to get the young warriors straightened out, and I hated to leave Stella alone that long. There was no telling who she would come across and what drama may come from it. I rush up the stairs to find Stella still sitting in my office waiting, alone. I walk in and take a seat at my desk. “So….”

“Did everything get worked out?”

“Stella.” I sigh. “I'm sure that you're not concerned with pack matters seeing as how you left how you did. I want to know why you are here, truly.” Stella gets up from the couch and walks towards me. Rather than sit opposite me, she stands beside me, leaning against the desk.

“Jayden, I missed you so much. I left because…..because I felt that I wasn’t good enough for our family, for the pack. I needed….,” she stopped and looked up. “I needed to figure out who I was and how to be the best I could be.” Stella looked down at me, waiting for a response. I can’t tell if she is being truthful or not.
