"There was no need. I'm just glad you're safe," Blake said nonchalantly.
"Then why are you saying it now?"
"Since you insist, I'll tell you. Rory, I can never lie to you."
When they were waiting for the traffic light to turn green, he looked at Rory's hand again. He slowly reached out and held her hand.
The familiar touch made him feel at ease, and she did not withdraw her hand.
His palm gave her more than just warmth. It made her think about how he was always there for her when she was deep in the abyss of danger, and the warm hugs that they shared; all came from this man.
When they arrived, Rory walked into campus.
After class, Hailee came to see her.
"Rory," she greeted.
"What's going on between you and Harris?" Rory asked directly.
