Mated To The Ice Prince

There was no moon in the sky that night, the stars were covered with thick black cloud, the atmosphere was dense, the howling sounds of wind could be heard, and just in the blink of an eye, a lightning struck and flashed it's powerful light down to the ground.

Sounds of sword could be heard from a distance, a group of soldiers dressed in black colored clothing fought with some men in red colored clothes.

Stream of blood were flowing on the ground, there were a lot of knives and sword that were all covered in dark red blood.

Corpses, both young and adult, boys and girls, women and men, they were all lying dead on the floor.

Among those corpses were two familiar ones, the woman wore a gold necklace around her neck, she was dressed in a beautiful yellow ball gown, a white hand glove and a pair of white shiny shoes. A little diadem was placed gracefully on her head, she was the queen kiara of khaerolia who had also been killed by the invaders. Beside her corpse was also the body of her husband, the handsome king Rainier, they were all dressed in robes made out if rich royal fabrics.

"Mom!" A light voice was heard from the backspace, and the young woman ran towards the body of the king and queen.

The delicate young beautiful girl was nicely dressed in a blue colored off shouldered ball gown, she had plenty of long and lustrous brown hair, that seemed to gleam in the dark along with her beautiful tiara, her sapphire colored eyes began to drop out tears, while her pink lips muttered a "No"

She bent down and raised her white colored gloved hand and touched her mother's head.

"Mother, Father" she croaked as she saw the blood that was stained at the lower part of her mother's gown.

'This is unfair' She thought while tears dropped out of her eyes.

How was she going to survive without her parents? who was going to look after her young sister?

Alirea stood up from the ground and looked around, perhaps she would find her brother, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Aaaaaaaah!" Alirea heard a loud scream that seems to be coming out of her hiding place, and instantly she remembered her little sister whom she had told to hide back there. But why did she scream? Has something happened to her?.

Alirea ran back to her hiding place as fast as her two legs could carry her, but as she got there, she saw her sister already unconscious.

"Akira? what wrong? what happened to you?" she asked as she tapped her, hoping that she hasn't lose her again.

Alirea checked below her gown, and it was stained with blood, but she was not injured was she?

Alas it was Akira's back that was oozing out blood, and an arrow was stuck inside her back, the little girl managed to speak.

"Raelyn, where is mom?" she asked Alirea calling her by her second name.

Alirea couldn't tell her sister that their parents had been killed.

"I told you not to leave your room, now look you've been shot" Alirea cried and couldn't help but wonder why was this happening to her? Who were the people that invaded their peaceful kingdom? And why would they have to attack their kingdom when they were celebrating a very special day. It was her parents twenty fifth wedding anniversary and they had hosted a very special ball this year. The royal families were all having a great time when the unknown armed men barged in the ballroom.

Alirea was still thinking of what to do when an arrow landed in her front, she narrowly escaped been shot. And when she looked up she saw a masked army already setting his bow and targeting her as his shot, Alirea stood up abruptly with her sister, before the arrow will enter her body.

And when the army missed his target, he jumped down the wall and removed his sword, determined to kill the girl, he moved towards her and tore the upper part of her dress with his sword, she had a deep cut in the her right shoulder, and it began to bleed.It was time for her to use her magic, despite the fact that she had promised her parents that she wouldn't except if she had mastered the art, but right now she had no choice.

Alirea had struck the army with a spark of ice that she had thrusted out of her left hand. The sharp ice landed on the army's chest and his sword fell of his hand.

And she carried her sister on her back and ran out of their hiding place, a drop of rain fell on her shoulder and she remembered the word her mother always tells her while she was alive. "It will rain heavily when I die" The word echoed in her head, she has no choice than to run, she looked back at her parents who were already turning to white colored smoke and was wafting gently on the air. Alirea burst into tears and ran away with her sister.

While running, Alirea had began to feel weak due to the cut she had on her shoulder, even though the injury will heal soon, she still have to feel the pain and as a result if that, her powers weakened.

The sound of running horses could be heard, and once she looked back, she saw the red men following her, there were determined to kill her, she couldn't run nor fight since her powers were draining due to the injury, her beautiful blue ball gown was drenched and covered with the blood from her injured shoulder.

Alirea knew the effect of the arrow on her sister, the invaders didn't use any normal arrow, but a poisonous one, as a matter of fact, her sister was going to be in a long deep sleep, she will have to be unconscious for days, since the poison had spread through her body, and Alirea need to find the cure for this.

She was getting more weaker to the extent that she could hardly lift her leg, she was already standing near the forest and as for the purpose of protecting herself and her sister, she must hide in there.

Besides, there was a deep hollow pit at the middle of the road, all Alirea had to do was to use another ice to cut a branch from one of the trees, then it will enter the pit. The enemies will think she had fell inside the pit and due to the heavy rain a branch of tree had fell and hit her.

While she did that, she hid inside the forest, she had already used another ice magic when she was injured and weak, as a result, she fell right inside the dark forest and passed out.
