Chapter 42 : Back in Shadowguard

I awoke in a dimly lit room. The light from the street lamps below peaked through the cracks of the thick heavy curtains. The bedding under me was as soft as silk and I felt as if I was laying on a cloud. It felt familiar but I couldn't place it.

I was groggy and disoriented. My mind was unnaturally void of thought. I couldn’t remember anything but I knew I wasn’t in my old room anymore. My eyes were heavy and struggled to stay open. Maybe if I slept a little bit longer, it would come back to me.

I rolled onto my side and snuggled into the large firm pillow. My hand slid under it and my fingers started to trace the trim of the headboard. Without thinking, I lifted a finger and then quickly returned it to its tracing.
