In this world, everyone is born with a soulmate, one that could be found by the similarity between the tattoos that develop over time and become opaque at age 13. A tattoo is like a fingerprint, so unique that even identical twins have different ones.
Soulmates don't always have to be romantic. Sometimes, it's just someone you spend your life forever with, someone that will always make you feel special and comfortable.
Once you meet this person, the tattoos would start hurting. After that, you would be forever attached to them. Spending too much time away could be hurtful, even deadly in some cases. Over time, scientists have developed a vaccine for these symptoms of separation. The first medication came out in the 1990s and the formula is constantly changing. Most countries' healthcare systems are able to pay for this, but the United States has not put this system into place yet.
This story centers around young woman Lee Hana, a psychology student working on her Bachelor's degree. What faces her is something that she could never expect.
