Chapter 2

KOSHIGE AKATAMI - POV.

I frowned, he greeted me so casually. Am I expected to know this kid? "Hello.. And who might you be?" He shares so many similar features to the master.. A coincidence? I don't know… That seems far-fetched.

The man in front of me chuckles, shaking his head as he lets out a deep breath. His face held a great amount of grief, but it also held purpose. An unshakable confidence and a posture of power.

Whoever this man was, he had a motive.

"Huh.. I guess I never thought this far. I really don't know what to say to that… My name is Haisei Ridao. I'm here to see your master.. Yuji Kyotsu." His words got the gears in my brain to start rolling. Haisei Ridao? The Ridao family had an older son?

And one so similar to the Kyotsu heir? Just what's going on.

"Hmm, as his caretaker, his business is my business. Mind telling me why you're here exactly?" I stand firm, standing up straight as I gaze at the man in front of me with a squint.

Whatever game the Ridao family is playing, it surely isn't working. Haisei, looks puzzled. Like he truly had a blank mind. "Uh~ Well- Sigh.. I'm here on behalf of the Ridao family to train your heir with his quirk. In their eyes, they need a perfect leader, and they assigned me to be the one to make him perfect."

My eyes sharpened. Ridao family, a family of heroes that also have their hands in the underground world. They've never had a member of their family reach the top ten, but they have a few within the top fifty and one-hundred. They hold a considerable amount of influence in the hero world and the general public due to the handful of their businesses that deal in everyday items for the regular folks.

The Kyotsu family is above them though.. Well, when the Mister and Missus were here, this family was the strongest in the business. But now that they've passed- Sigh, the reputation and hold on the family assets have been up for grabs since Yuji isn't old enough or educated enough to deal with these things.

I've been managing them so far and I've been doing a good job, even pushing back our competition while I was at it.

Anyway, the Ridao and the Kyotsu family have been intertwined ever since Mister and Missus got married. And with Kyotsu being the stronger family, they've been under the Kyotsu influence for a while now.

Whatever happens to the Kyotsu, also affects the Ridao.

'But that doesn't explain how they knew about the master's manifestation… That information has been kept tight- Not even the government knows about it.' I should be ashamed of that fact since that is considered treason, but a couple more weeks won't hurt.

"Is that so? Well, come on in." I say, stepping aside with a two-faced smile. The boy strains a smile and takes a step inside the Kyotsu estate, closing the door behind him. I intended to put him on the ropes.

Though, I have no idea what his quirk is, catching him off guard will give me a good idea of it.

Closing the door, and spinning on my heel, I unsheathe the secret blade hidden within my cane, whipping it around towards the young man's head, I was left speechless.

The young man was nowhere to be found.

"What're you doing, Koshige? Is this how you treat an envoy from a neighboring family?" A cool, voidful voice whispers in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. 'What? How did he get behind me?!'

Slowly sheathing my blade, I force myself to keep my composure. Taking a small step forward to create some distance between us. My blade clicks, "I just wished to see what you had to offer. Since you'll be the one teaching the master what I can't; I had to see the credibility." I lie, fixing my monocle.

Haisei eyes me, clearly skeptical but doesn't say a word. Instead, he hums. Both hands in his pocket as he nods past me, straight for the stairs to the masters room.

'Super-speed? No.. There was no wind. I didn't even feel him move.' I frown, following our visitor. 'How does he know where the masters room is anyway? I'm sure that he's never been here before. Only a select few of the Ridao's have set foot in here.' So many questions, but so little answers…

YUJI KYOTSU - POV.

Standing in nothing but my underwear, I stand in front of my full body mirror, curious as to what physical changes I went through. Though, much to my disappointment, my five year old physique is… Just that. A five year olds physique.

Other than my eyes and the noticeable soreness, nothing changed.

KNOCK KNOCK!

"Oh jesus- Just a minute!" I call out, startled from the sudden knock. Despite my words, however, the door swings open. Leaving me frozen, confusion and irritation swirling within my chest as I watch a weird looking man and my butler come waltzing in my room.

The man hums, nodding his head as he inspects my room.

"I'm pretty sure I told you to wait! It's rude to burst into someone-" My words hitch as the man's eyes land on me. A shiver running through my spine.

"Woah~ Nice muscles kid. Cool eyes too, real pretty." He comments, though I tilt my head in confusion and wonder. "H-How are your eyes like mine…? Isn't this quirk related?" The man waves his hand.

"Blah, useless information for another time. Anyway, we don't have a long time for this- I'm working with about fifteen years, give or take, before I have to go back. So we're going to start now. Put some clothes on and meet me in the basement training room." And just as soon as he makes his appearance known, he's gone in a blink of an eye.

My eyes widened and I looked between where he was and Koshige. "W-What was that?! Instant-warping?!" Koshige only shrugs, shaking his head with an exasperated sigh.

"Well, since he says he's here to help, and clearly has the power to teach you something, I say you take advantage of it, master. I'll do my research on him and make sure he's not… completely shady. The Ridao family would never harm you." My butler reassures me, flashing me a strong, reassuring smile.

I only nod, a smile cracking my lips as I immediately fall into a trance thinking about all the cool things I could do with my quirk… Once I figure out what it actually is.

"Isn't instant-warping like… Extremely rare and sought after? How did the Ridao family get a hold of someone so capable?" I ask, slipping on a basic black hoodie over a white wife beater.

My butler shrugs, "He's actually from their direct family. Haisei Ridao is his name, well that's what he claims, but it's not that surprising. The Ridao's have great influence and a lot of money. If he's just hired arms of good intent by them, then we owe them a serious debt." I nod, not fully understanding the whole thing with the different families.

This is a modern society with super-powered people… I didn't expect to have to deal with things like families combining and the reputation aspect of things.. That all seems so… Ancient.

Slipping on a pair of white socks and then some white joggers, I hum. "Okay, well can you keep him company? I'll be down in a minute." Koshige's jaw drops as he's pulled from his pensive state.

"Oh! You're completely right, master. Please hurry, we'll be waiting." I nod with a smile, as soon as he leaves though I plop on my bed. Slipping on my white sneakers.

'Instant warping… If they sent someone like him, does that mean that's my power? Teleportation!?' My thoughts and expectations soared. Higher and higher to an unhealthy amount, even though I have no practical idea what my quirk does beside my enhanced eye capabilities.

Opening the door to the basement, a waft of moisture inscented air slams against my face. Somewhat pleasing to breathe in. The wooden stairs creak with each step, the voices of my butler and my new teacher come to a sudden stop as they turn to peer at me.

Though, my teacher seemed to always have his eyes on me.

My butler smiles softly seeing me, bowing slightly to the both of us as I close the distance, standing in the middle of the room. My teacher bows slightly back, a strained smile on his lips as he turns his attention to the room we resided.

It wasn't much. A wooden clad floor, each plank being placed so perfectly the seams don't even show. The walls were covered with a white wallpaper, though some spots were stained due to the moisture in the air.

There were wooden weapons on racks, three racks in total. The room itself spans about five hundred square feet or so, I don't really know the specifics. But it's pretty big and spacious down here.

"Hmm, nice place kid. You ready?" I tilt my head.

"Ready for wh- Ow!" Cutting me off mid sentence, my teacher appears behind me, placing his left leg in front of my own and giving me a little push.

"Not fast enough. Aren't your eyes special?" He questions, causing me to grit my teeth. Standing up, I drop into a clearly makeshift, untrained and sloppy stance.

The man does the same, though he is much more pristine, refined and overall… Perfect. My eyes widen slightly at this, but I quickly regain my wits and take a deep breath in.

"Fine.. Here we go." I mutter, lunging at my new teacher. With my fist cocked back, I intended to swing across and hit him cleanly across his face, but quite the contrary happens.

Swiveling on his pivot, he grips my outstretched wrist and spins around, simultaneously gripping the back of my neck as he throws me across the room.

"Wow, this really is satisfying… Get up! Whatever you think this is, get it out of your head! If you don't take this seriously, I'll really kill you." As I struggled to my feet, his words sent a shiver down my spine as a mysterious, breath catching pressure descended on my entire being.

Freezing me in place.

"Isn't that a bit.. Excessive, Mr. Haisei?" Koshige suddenly speaks, getting the man's attention, though his eyes never leave me. He shrugs and the pressure ascends, allowing air back into my lungs.

Greedily sucking in big gulps of air, I glare at the man. He smirks, taunting me with his hand and as angry as I am, I'm also terrified.

"...If we manage to get past this and get you to at least a novice start. We'll move on to your quirk training." He suddenly says, and that was all I needed for my fear to quickly turn into motivation.

Launching to my feet with serious eyes, I approached him in the middle of the room, my body instinctively copying his stance, though it was nowhere near perfect, it felt extremely comfortable and natural.

With his red hair similar to mine, styled the same way to his eyes that match mine as well, I ignored it all as my mind was stuck on what he could teach me.

My teacher smirks, his canines visible.

"Oh yeah, that's it… I'm going to make you perfect."
