Volume 3 Episode 5: Power

'System, what you are saying is that this boy over here.. might have a lot of money, right?'

[ ….Yes, I suppose he must have quite a large amount of money with him, probably in his account. ]

Lin smiled at the answer given by the system, as he neared the bullies. He didn't care about what the bullies did or what the boy's father did, but he did know one thing.

He had money. A lot.

Lin was thinking about what he was planning to do to get the money. Obviously, he couldn't just beat the boy and take it from him, because once he recovers, he might go after Peter's family. After all, if you can't get the perpetrator, then you go for the next best thing.

Lin didn't wish for that to happen. The family had nothing to do with it, so he had to absolutely make sure that they wouldn't get hurt in the process.

He looked at the two boys and the girl surrounding him.

'By the looks of it, these three are just goons for the rich kid, acting as followers for his influence. They most likely wouldn't be a problem if things got out of hand.'

He came to the conclusion that the three lackeys wouldn't be a problem once he gets serious. They weren't anyone influential, just dogs following their owner.

'System, are there bodyguards following the kid?'

[ You are absolutely correct, boss. Yes, the boy does indeed have bodyguards following him. There are to my knowledge, almost seven bodyguards in the school, all disguised as teachers. ]

Lin was nearing the bullies as the conversation with the system happened in his mind. Due to the intense training of the mind and body, his thoughts were way faster than normal people. Even though his body may not be the same, his mind was not different. He could have long thoughts and strategize efficiently in a matter of seconds.

'So how to obtain the money to fly to Brusnia, while taking care of the bullies in a way that it doesn't affect Peter's family?'

Lin started playing out different kinds of scenarios in his mind, crossing out ones that were not suitable in the process of doing so.

'The body of Peter Han is obviously expendable, so I needn't worry about minor injuries. Although I do need to be careful of guns, especially sniper rifles. My reflexes may be fast, but I don't think this body might be agile enough to dodge quickly.

The only way that I can be sure of there being no repercussions to Peter's family is to take care of the Rivaldo family altogether, but that would undoubtedly make me a criminal and I don't think I would be able to book flights if that happened.'

Suddenly, Lin's eyes brightened, indicating that an idea popped into his mind.

'Hey system?'

[ Yes boss? ]

'The Rivaldo family must be rich enough to have an airstrip and a private jet, right?'

[ Yes they do. In fact they own multiple jets, with the airstrip located extremely close to the family mansion. ]

'Perfect.'

Lin grinned widely as he finally reached where the bullies stood.

Thomas, who saw his usual victim smiling at him, was confused for a second.

'Is there something on my face?'

He was sure that there wasn't anything on his face, but just in case, he tried touching it. And as expected, nothing turned up.

The other three lackeys were puzzled by the expression on their target's face as well. Usually, Peter would be fidgeting in front of them, stuttering while talking. But the Peter standing in front of them looked like he wasn't scared of anything. It was almost like he wasn't Peter.

Of course, the bullies didn't come to the conclusion that it wasn't Peter who was in front of them. They just thought that the dimwit prey had gained some confidence to stand up for himself, which made them angry.

Thomas Rivaldo, who was now annoyed by the grin on Peter's face, yelled at him loudly.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT MORON? IS THERE SOMETHING ON MY FACE?"

The whole class turned silent, and all the students looked back to see what was happening.

Most of the students figured out what was happening and sighed, returning to what they were doing before. Some sympathized with Peter, but no one did anything. It was almost as if the bullying had become a part of their daily life.

But the students who were spectating noticed something unusual. Usually, by this point, Peter would be scared out of his mind, falling down to the ground, stuttering. At least, that was how it was supposed to go.

To their surprise, Peter was staying still in front of the bullies with a calm face. He was still grinning as if the yelling had not affected him in the slightest. After the class settled down, Peter opened his mouth to speak.

"I'm so glad you asked, because there is something on your face."

"What! What do you mea-"

Thomas, who was already annoyed, was about to ask what he meant by that statement before he was interrupted by a fist that appeared out of nowhere tight right in front of his eyes.

Before he could understand the situation, the fist had connected with his face, landing the heavy punch without a problem. The three lackeys who still didn't understand what had happened, saw their master get thrust back in full speed, hitting the wall behind them.

The whole class was once again silent, but this time, entirely for a different reason.

They had seen it. The punch that landed on Thomas's face was undoubtedly the work of Peter.

Peter stood right where he was before, and pulled back his hand that was stretched out, and continued talking.

"Oh, nevermind. It was just my fist."

"..."

The two boy lackeys who were in a trance just a while ago, snapped out of it and ran towards Peter in an attempt to attack him.

Lin watched lazily as the two boys tried to land a hit on him using their amateurish moves, dodging them every time.

"Are you guys really this weak? Come on, you got to be better than that to even lay a scratch on me."

"SHUT UP!!'

Lin started taunting his opponents in an attempt to infuriate them, and it seemed to have worked as the two boys started screaming and running crazily after him, with their moves becoming even more amateurish.

"Alright, time to finish this."

Lin suddenly stopped defending and dodging, choosing to finish the fight after losing interest. He jumped in the air swiftly, surprising the two lackeys.

Lin took advantage of this moment of distraction, doing a spinning hook kick while in the air, hitting both of their heads. Both the boys flew sideways due to the impact of the kick, crashing against the wall and falling down unconscious.

Lin landed on the ground smoothly and looked at Lizzie, the final bully left. She looked terrified, afraid of Lin who seemed to be unstoppable. As he started approaching her, she quickly started speaking in an attempt to persuade him.

"P-Peter, please don't d-do this, alright? R-Remember when we used to be f-friends? You k-know what kind of a person T-thomas's father is right? If you stop right now, we can resolve all of this in a peacef-"

Lizzie couldn't even finish speaking before Lin punched her hard in the stomach, causing her to land on her knees, throwing up almost immediately. He then kicked her face, thrusting her sideways as she fell down unconscious.

"I don't like people who try to threaten me."

Lin murmured quietly, looking at the heavily injured Lizzie. He then moved his gaze towards the injured Thomas, whom he had taken extra care in not making him unconscious.

Thomas, who was lying on the ground, started groaning as he got up from the ground. He had no clue as to what had happened to him, but when he got up, he was surprised to see all his friends down on the ground, injured heavily while Peter stood in front of him with a smile.

"Di-did you do this?"

Thomas pointed his fingers at Peter, confused and scared at who the person in front of him was. The situation around him had painted a clear picture in his head as to what had happened, but he still couldn't believe it. He couldn't believe that the person who he had thought was a nobody, could do any of this. He didn't want to believe it, but he had to.

Lin smiled at the terrified Thomas, and chose not to answer his question. He started slowly walking towards him, which made Thomas even more scared, as he started blurting out threats.

"D-don't even think about coming near me. Y-You know who my f-father is, right? He has the power to make your l-life miserable. Don't test me Peter. I can destroy your life if I want to right now."

However, Lin didn't slow down his speed. Instead, he sped up his pace, causing Thomas to close his eyes, afraid of the attack that was coming. Lin was just about to punch him when a loud shout was heard.

"STOOOOP!"

Lin and Thomas, along with the students, turned to look at who it was that shouted, and a middle aged man with a goatee and glasses came into view.

"M-Mr. Luis! S-Save me!"

Thomas, who had initially been terrified of Lin, had eyes full of hope now. He screamed at Mr. Luis, pleading with him to save him from the hands of Lin.

Lin stared at 'Mr. Luis', as the latter slowly moved towards him.

"Peter Han, I'm going to have to ask you to leave Thomas alone. We are going to have a talk with your parents about this, so I ask you to think this through calmly."

He was trying to scare Lin into leaving Thomas alone, but Lin didn't budge.

'Hey system, is this Mr. Luis one of the Rivaldo family's lapdogs?'

[ Yes boss. This person is one of the bodyguards of Thomas Rivaldo who infiltrated the school as teachers. ]

'Perfect.'

The system confirmed Lin's suspicions, and a big smirk stretched across his face.

'Then let's get serious.'
