Chapter 1Volume 1 Episode 1

Lin Hamill, who just woke up, was still wondering about the dream from last night. He couldn't remember what it was actually about, but he did have a blurry memory of meeting a person. As he got up from his bed, he switched on the television, only to find that the television wasn't at the same place as before. He did not understand how it had moved from its original place.

"Strange, I don't remember moving it. Maybe I did it in the middle of the night or something."

Lin told himself as he moved on from the issue at hand and switched on the television.

But as he moved to grab the remote, he noticed something unusual. The remote that was lying on the sofa wasn't the same remote that he used. It looked foreign. Alien.

Feeling unusual, he looked around more, only to find that the apartment that he was currently in, while looking incredibly similar to his own, was not the same. There had been few differences like the placement of the sink, the weird art hanging on the wall etc.

Incredibly worried by the changes as his mind thought of the worst case scenarios, Lin grabbed his phone only to realize that even the phone wasn't his.

[ Good morning user! ]

Suddenly, few lines of words flashed across his face.

"What in God's name?" Lin looked at the floating text for a few minutes in a state of shock. He still did not understand what had just happened. In fact, he had no clue as to what was going on.

Where am I?

Have I been kidnapped?

Will I be sold on the black market for kidneys?

Did I come across something top secret that the government had no choice but to place him under captivity for an indefinite period of time?

Am I part of some wacky scientist's science experiment as a lab rat or something?

As he was a person who read webnovels during his leisure time, his imagination started running wild. Fortunately he didn't have to think for a long time.

[ The 'Alternate World Transfer' has been completed successfully. You have been transferred to a completely new alternate world as per your request. The Man upstairs has informed me to congratulate you on his behalf. It's a pleasure working with you. ]

Lin didn't move nor did he speak. He just stood there. As he was taking in the reality bending miracle that was happening in front of him, his memory about his dream finally became clearer.

That's right, how could he have forgotten it?

He met The Man. The Man Upstairs. And he talked with him. Not just a simple talk. It was an interview for a job. A job that can change the world. That can change any world. A job so influential that it could redefine the word 'control' as we know it. And he had been selected for that job.

As he finally remembered the job he was assigned to do, Lin could not help but snicker at the luck he had received. It was already a miracle that he had been selected as a potential candidate, and it was even more amazing that he had been selected for the job.

He was truly happy. How could he not. He, who worked and played the part of the mob, someone who wasn't exceptional, someone who can be described as normal, was selected for the job by the Man Upstairs. And it was a job that he was probably born to do.

As he thought about it, he moved to the balcony as he looked at the new world he was now a part of.

It had changed!

Everything had changed!

This world was different. It was similar in appearance but there was something fundamentally different that made it unique.

Magic.

Magic existed among the people. Not all of them, but still, it did exist. The people who could use magic were called 'Gifted' while the rest were just normal people. There were basically six main types of Magic: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Grass and Electricity, with subgenres of their own.

Was Lin one of the Gifted?

No. He was not.

That was Lin's life in this world.

He was Lin Hamill, fifteen years old, the oldest son of the Hamill family, one of the richest and the most gifted families in the entirety of Korea.

And he was talentless.

The outside world didn't know. But the family members did.

The test to find out whether a person is gifted or not is done on three separate occasions: once during the birth, the second time during the tenth birthday and the last time during the high school admission.

Apart from the first two tests, both of which are done in the household, the last test is done publicly at the school that they wish to go to.

Even though he hadn't been kicked out of the family, the situation wasn't all that great. The only reason he hadn't been kicked out was because of his father who holds significant power over the rest of the family members. But even he wouldn't be able to help him after the public test. The pressure of the family members would definitely result in the removal of his name from the will.

And it wasn't like he could just choose not to go to school. That would result in an even more suspicious situation. The son of a prestigious family blessed with magic had chosen not to attend school? The media would definitely have a field day with it. That's why he had chosen to move out of the family mansion into an apartment.

He was in a similar situation in the real world as well, where he had been expected to carry his parent's legacy and their business empire. He was so burdened with it that moved out of the house to get out of the pressure.

But unlike his previous world, this world was not outside of Lin's control. After all, being an employee for The Man Upstairs does come with its perks. And one of the perks he had received was information. The Man Upstairs had given him hints to unlock the hidden truths of this world, something that inhabitants themselves hadn't been able to solve precisely because of the powers they held.

And Lin held the key to change the world. All he needed to do was find the right locks. This was far from easy to do, but at least he wasn't starting from scratch. He could still use his family's influence and money until he would inevitably be excluded from the family itself. But school admissions had yet to open, having more than six months till it starts, and he had enough time to devise a plan to stop his expulsion from the family inheritance, which might end up being crucial. After all, money and power did make life easier, although the pressure that came with it would say otherwise.

As he smelled the morning air, Lin smiled, "Six months, that's more than enough to find an answer to the roots of magic I guess."

As he nodded to himself as he made up his mind, Lin moved to the front door where a food package had been left.

"Right on time."

Of course, living in a rich house did have its drawbacks, as he did not know how to cook, which means he had butlers and cooks sent food to him in packages, to emulate the feeling of takeout foods. Even though it was silly, he still hadn't learnt how to cook, so it definitely was helpful.

"Richard!"

"Yes, master Lin?"

As Lin called out his name, a blonde man with a large build appeared from the room next door.

Lin carried the food in his hands, and Richard came running behind and helped him with setting up the table. As he took a bite out of his lavish and expensive breakfast, Lin spoke softly.

"Richard, I want to empty the basement of this building. I want everything in the room out. Bring in a bed and move it into the room. I want bright lights that are to be focused solely on the bed and a bunch of knives useful for cutting through the body smoothly…"

He was essentially describing an emergency room and medical equipments but he couldn't say it directly as there were no hospitals in this world, as potions existed to replace them. There wasn't a need for a doctor when potions could do the job for them.

Richard, albeit confused, listened attentively as Lin reached his final request.

"... And also, I want you to find an orphanage or a slum. Somewhere with a lot of people but no care for people going missing. It doesn't matter whether they are children or adults. But there needs to be both the gifted and the normal in that place as well."

At the last request, Richard squinted his eyes, but didn't say anything and just nodded in confirmation. He then cleaned up the dishes as Lin had finished his breakfast.

After Richard left, Lin stood in the living room, as he replayed his conversation with The Man Upstairs.

Why had Lin been chosen?

The Man Upstairs had told him that it was because it was fate.

Lin smiled as he thought of it. Maybe it really was fate. After all he fit the job perfectly.

"Don't worry, as long as I'm alive, this world will meet its end."

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.

Young Master's PoV: Woke Up As A Villain In A Game One Day

"Now you see?" she shouted in a tone that was somewhere between annoyance and disappointment. "You can’t outsmart Scrients! They’re the most intelligent beings across the two realms!" "You’re right," I muttered, averting my gaze with a solemn sigh. "I made a mistake. I was arrogant to think a mere human like me could fool them." —BOOM!! "...Wh-What was that?" "Hmm? I’m not sure. Maybe you should go and ask the most intelligent beings across the two realms. Oh wait! You can’t. I killed them all." --- My name is Samael Kaizer Theosbane. On the last day of high school, I got into a fight with a kid I used to bully. It was a stupid and pointless scuffle. And in the middle of it, I tripped and smacked my head on a rock. That’s when the memories came flooding in… Memories of a different life. Memories of another world. Suddenly, everything made a twisted kind of sense. I realized two things. First: I was inside a game I used to play in my past life. Second: I was a villain. A villain! Not the cool, mysterious, tragic kind either! No, I was the worst kind of cliché — a spoiled, insufferable, and arrogant young master. The sort you'd find in those poorly written fantasy stories. You know the type! The one everyone hates. The one the hero would beat into the ground to show everyone just how strong and righteous he is. Yeah. I was that guy! My fate was to be a stepping stone for the main characters, be manipulated by a Demon Prince, and die a dog's death. And the hero? The hero was the same kid I’d been bullying all this time. The one I just got into a fight with. He was supposed to be the savior of this damned world. A world teetering on the edge of destruction, beset by wars, calamities, and a grim future that only I knew. And waiting at the end of it all was the final antagonist. The unbeatable nightmare. …The Spirit King. But could I even make it to the end? Could I really survive in a game where defeat was the only certainty? A game that had now become my reality? “Ah, fuck it.” I had no idea if I could. But I sure as hell was going to try. Extorting extras, manipulating main characters, altering the story to my advantage, stealing the hero’s cheat items, killing villains long before they could become threats — nothing was beneath me. Would the main characters be affected by my actions? Excellent! Would the story change? Even better! All I cared about was me. My survival. My life. My choices. “I’ll live this life with no regrets.” ...But as I soon discovered, fate wasn't so easily changed. And the price of rewriting your destiny was steep. ========== Discord Server: https://discord.gg/VjFQtDUaTR

Level 1 to Infinity: My Bloodline Is the Ultimate Cheat!

They shattered his life. Now, he’ll break the world. Ethan had it all, until his best friend and the woman he loved betrayed him, leaving him crippled and forgotten. Three years of suffering later, he clawed his way to one final, desperate act… and the universe answered. A hidden quest. A second chance. A return to the moment everything began. Now, Ethan is back, on the eve of Ethereal’s launch, the world’s first fully immersive VR game and the battlefield where legends are forged. Last time, he played fair. This time? He’s armed with years of knowledge: every exploit, every secret quest, every broken mechanic that will let him climb straight to the top. But when he logs in, something is off. The system forces him into an unwanted class—Druid, the game’s biggest joke. The kind of class people pick as a dare and regret immediately. Yet as Ethan digs deeper, the truth shakes him. [Congratulations! You have unlocked the Divine Bloodline: King of Elves!] Ethan stared at the screen, unblinking. “…The hell?” The Druid class was a jack-of-all-trades, master of none—a scattered mess of abilities that mimicked other classes but never truly excelled. Their bear form lacked the raw defense of a proper tank. Their panther form was weaker than a rogue. Their healing fell short of a priest, and their magic couldn’t compare to a mage’s devastating spells. Most players abandoned the class early, realizing they could never compete at the highest level. And yet, Ethan’s stats are off the charts. His talents are absurd. His potential is beyond anything he’s ever seen. The system has given him something no other Druid ever had—a divine bloodline, legendary abilities, and a growth rate that defies logic. If Druids were meant to be weak, then Ethan was the exception that would rewrite history. He’s not just here to reclaim his throne. He’s here to take everything. Factions will rise. Empires will fall. The strongest will thrive, and the weak will perish. And the ones who betrayed him? They won’t live to do it again.

Pretty good story. It's well planned and enjoyable to read. The Mc is not naive and is brutal when needed. Tbh I'm lazy so I will stop my review rn. Also to the people that spam single stars on novels, it doesn't matter for what reason, just leave a truthful review and gtfo out. I have seen too many good/decent novels get dropped because of the reason ''oh wow, this novel has too many stars and ratings that it doesn't deserve, I'm gonna spam my review'' Like pls you haven't even read the novel, and if the story was bad then people who read it can leave a review of what they think and why they don't like it. ._. 1 review per person. This can also apply to the people who spam 5 stars. Last time I checked this ain't a dick measuring contest, if it was, it would be clear that my domineering pp energy will win, I cultivate my golden dragon day and night, I suffer an hour of anguish trying to reach the peak and feel the pleasure of heaven. My arts have already surpassed mortal limits. To those that disagree come here and have a sword fight with this young master, my golden dragon rips the earth and shakes the heavens. Survive one thrust and you're a man above mortals, survive ten thrusts and you're a god, survive one hundred thrusts and you shall be my wife. My pp energy is beyond your knowledge, Everyone knows me but fears to call me my real name, yet I cry, why does everyone call me Mommy or Mother. Everyone is just blind to the truth, it's impossible to not see my overwhelming pp energy, so please stop your lies and stop calling me Mommy. I may give people head pats and have people sit on my lap but I swear on the heavens these cute actions are manly.

I dont know about the author affecting his rating by creating alt accounts. if thats true, its pretty scummy. His story on the other hand is also pretty scummy. The quality of the writing is not bad, i can understand whats going on even with the weird time jumps. The problem for me is that i just cant get behind the underlying meaning and essence of this story. The author's writing comes across the page like a child trying to write like an ***** to justify that he understands existentialism, with banal prose about an unjust universe. The main character is evil, and doesnt really have any sort of weight or qualms about it. He goes from normal all his life to murder without any character justification. Being evil and mc is fine, there are a bunch of those and I have no problem with it. Yet, this novel really makes being evil so uninteresting. The MCs main conviction is that the world owes him something. What?! His life is of someone being pampered and rich with no real suffering. Yet, it sucks cause he is so untalented and its unfair. BooHoo, whine, whine, whine. Its also really annoying to read, that this whiny child then gets a chance to change his life with help from a god like being. So does the character learn anything, strive for anything, or go out there and try to be better. The short anwser is no. He arrives in a land of magic which is almost identical to his own world, but there is magic. Is it difficult for him in any sense to navigate this new world? Nope. Is there any problem with him trying to get magical powers. HaHa..., no. He has money, logistics, and manpower rightoff the bat. To then literally discover how magic is created in humans after sacrificing vagrants and the homeless. I would also like to mention that he was given some weird ethereal power for guessing things, and then he would be provided a either hot or cold response by better google. He doesnt earn anything and is given everything on silver platter. He is unapologetic with his whining about how he is special when a god like being tells him he isnt. He is just the worst. if you like that sorta thing, this is your novel. i couldnt make it that far in. if the novel progresses in a way later down the line to play on those themes and maybe have some character growth. thats awesome. Im just not down to go on that ride.
