Volume 2 Episode 23

Luke was still running. He had never ran this fast before. He was sprinting to keep his life.

"Shit, shit shit! I asked for a miracle not a f**king disaster!" He screamed as he ran with all his might.

Passing through the shrub filled grasslands Kito jungle is known for, he suddenly stopped at his tracks, and started looking around.

"Whoever you are, I haven't got time for this. Something very dangerous is about to come, so you'd better-"

His speech was cut short by a large water wave rising up out of the muddy grassland. The wave, filled with dirt and mud, was extremely unsightly to look at. 

'Damn it! Why doesn't anyone listen these days?'

He quickly dodged the incoming wave, lamenting on his inability to converse with the other party.

"Wait! Can you not hear what I'm saying? There's a Doran beast coming our way. We have no time to be fighting each other. Either we team up or we run away, but fighting while a doran is on our tail is obviously-"

"Would you just shut the hell up?" A shout was heard, interrupting Luke once again. A large number of water spheres appeared from the grasslands and rose to the air, as they shot towards Luke at an extremely high speed.

'Why aren't they listening? I even told them about the doran following us. Are they dumb?'

He desperately tried to evade the water spheres, but there were too many of them. Luke, who had already been injured from the fight with Daniel, wasn't equipped to handle a fast paced attack and got hit by the water spheres soon enough. The spheres hit him in the stomach, pummeling him mercilessly back-to-back.

"Goddammit!" Luke bit his lips and held down his desire to scream out loud. He couldn't think of any ways to beat his enemy, whose identity he figured out just a second ago.

'Andrea Perez. She's the only girl who uses water magic who got qualified to participate in the battle royale. The voice I heard before was also awfully similar to her voice in the video recordings I listened to. I'm ninety percent sure it's her. But the question is, where is she hiding?'

Luke had been looking around the grasslands all this time while also evading the water spheres. The enemy hadn't shown herself yet, but her voice indicated that she was nearby. He just had to find out where she was.

'Come on Luke, think. You did your research for these kinds of situations. What was Andrea like? What did she like to do? What were her likes and dislikes? Think of everything you know about her.'

Luke thought back to his research. He had to find out where Andrea was hiding, and to do that he first had to know who Andrea was.

Andrea Perez. A third year, good looking girl with average grades. She loves to dance, as she regularly posts on the popular social media app TokTik, but she isn't too keen on letting everyone know, hence she has a secret account. She hates getting dirty, which can be evident in most of her fights. She usually keeps a large distance during most of her fights to not get dirt on herself. She even flipped out at her opponent once when the match was over, angry about burning the tip of her expensive clothing, an indication of having a short temper.

'Now, how to use those facts into this situation?'

After remembering the facts he compiled against Andrea, Luke decided to implement his newfound strategy. He looked around to see any possible places in the grassland where there was a less chance of getting dirty, but close enough to attack. Suddenly, his eyes landed on a large tree that had a heavy branch hanging to the side, just near the marshes. The tree was close enough to the grasslands and provided a clear view of her enemy from above, while the branch which was very long was even nearer and could be used to get closer to use her water magic.

'Got it.'

As Luke had made sure of his enemy's position, he moved back and yelled as loud as he could.

"COME OUT ANDREA! OR SHOULD I SAY SUPERWOMAN61?"

Luke called out her username she used in the TokTik app to startle her, and sure enough, the tree branch shook a little bit, indicating her presence. Luke quickly grabbed the opportunity, and formed giant balls of flames, shooting towards the tree branch. The branch was hit with fireballs and was burned to a crisp, but a figure had jumped out of the tree, before the fireballs hit their target, just in the nick of time. 

"Your dances SUCK!" yelled Luke, trying his best to agitate his opponent to make her distracted. Fortunately for Luke, Andrea took the bait, yelling furiously, "I'LL KILL YOU!!"

Luke took the chance to use his trump card against her. He knew this was the best chance he had of defeating her, and he had to make it count. He motioned his hands and a beam of flames started forming in his palms. He then pushed his hands forwards, causing the large firebeam to shoot out with incredible speed, hitting the surprised Andrea with full force.

'Not yet.' 

Luke wasn't done with his attack. He ran towards the direction Andrea was falling, and made a calculated attack. He formed a large number of fireballs and shot them in her direction, accurately hitting her as she was still in air, causing her to fall to the side due to the impact. Andrea,who was still not unconscious, tried to get up once again but all she saw when she opened her eyes was a hand. 

"You're done now."

Luke, who had quickly arrived in front of her, put his hand over her face and forced his flames to explode before she had a chance to block it.

"Wai-" her pleas were cut short as the flames exploded in her face, leveling the whole ground and everything near them, causing dust and debris to form around the explosion, covering the entire place with smoke.

After the smoke cleared, Andrea was seen lying unconscious on the ground. Not too far from her, Luke was also lying down with his eyes closed. It seems his energy had been drained, causing him to also lose his consciousness, which meant that both of them had been disqualified. But Luke, unlike Andrea, had a satisfied smile plastered across his face.
