7 Volume 2 Episode 1

"Do not forget your goal Mr. Lin. I know the world might be very different from the one that you are used to, and you might even feel like exploring and knowing more about the wonderful world that you've been given a chance to be part of, and that is all fine and dandy. But do remember that you were dropped there for a reason. Whatever you may do, do not forget the sole reason for your existence. Do I make myself clear?"

"You know you would make a pretty good teacher. You got that strict teacher vibe going for you. Ever thought of changing professions to something more simpler? I feel like the stress has gotten to you."

"That's rich coming from you isn't it?"

"I guess I dug that hole myself huh.."

As The Man Upstairs continued to give instructions, Lin's mind drifted to imagining what the world he would live from now on would look like. It definitely was an alternate reality, meaning it might be really similar to the original world, but he thought about what the differences would be. He imagined what that would mean to him.

What would the changes in the world he lives in result in?

"Was the world the reason for denying you the rose colored life that you expected to live? Is that what you were thinking?" The Man Upstairs had already stopped giving instructions and looked at Lin.

"Dunno, you tell me.." replied Lin.

The Man Upstairs closed his eyes for a minute. He started rubbing his beard and tapping his forehead. In the end he opened his eyes and answered.

"I don't know."

"Weren't you supposed to know it all?"

"I never said I'm God. I'm just a man upstairs."

Lin looked at the man who assumed a poker face. He really didn't understand him.

"So you don't have an answer whether it was my fault or the world's that I happen to be this way."

"Does it really matter? Would you believe me if I gave an answer?"

".... No I wouldn't."

As the man seemed to not care, Lin gave up trying to find an answer from him. The man was probably right. He wouldn't believe him anyways. All that mattered was what he believed. And he believed that the world owed him. It may be true or it may be false, it didn't matter to Lin.

"What are you anyway? Why do you want to save the world I live in, or should I say the one I had lived in? What is in it for you?"

"That is a question I would like to answer another day, kid. Don't worry, we'll definitely see each other again. You are destined to move forward and in doing so you will inevitably cross paths with me. I shall answer you then."

"How do I know you're saying the truth?"

"You don't." The man answered as he waved his hand as Lin closed his eyes reluctantly and started to fall downwards.

"Damn you…"

Drakon Academy.

2 months after the Entrance Exams.

A lone man stood at the top of the Huangyu mountain, the mountain range that consists of the Drakon Academy. "Today's the day the new batch of students arrive huh.." as the man looked at the opening of the school gates, he could not help but remember his old days, back when he too was a freshman, who stood before the gates, in awe of the huge academy.

"Days pass by so quickly.. and before you know it you become old." After waking up from his old memories, the old man sighed, remembering that what had passed by couldn't be retrieved anymore. Time doesn't stop for anyone. Well, not quite anyone.

"So this is the famous Drakon academy. I heard about it from Rin and my parents, but seeing it in real life is something different entirely."

As he looked around the large campus, he tried to remember which class he had been assigned to. Due to the Hamill Family having a large web of connections, he had received a seat in the A-Class, a class consisting of both the elite magic users and the richest of the rich who used their influence to buy the seats at a ridiculously high price.

Aside from the A-Class, there is also the B-Class, which consists of medium powered magic users and the H-Class which consists of the normal people and the lowest magic users. The ranks of Elite, Medium and low is assigned based on the amount of work that they can provide in various jobs and how much beneficial they would be for the job. Based on calculating what the profits would be, the classes are made. These tests are done by testing the students at the entrance exams, specifically for Power, Endurance and the amount of jobs the power might be useful for. After testing out the participants in all these fields they are assigned a rounded score and given the class they are attending.

Of course, there are people who use their influence to completely overtake such tests, jumping straight to the admission process with the help of their wealth. This is usually done to either to help the child with securing a stable and high paying job, or as a point of decoration and to prove a point about the abilities of their child.

Lin, who hadn't taken the test, now had an understanding of how his powers work, as he had spent a huge amount of time training, moulding his body to make use of his abilities. He had also been testing out the dual power procedure on more test subjects, which had been on a 'no-death streak' as of late. He planned on testing out on more subjects before using it on himself for now.

As he entered the classroom he saw Luke sitting at the very first seat, right in front of the teacher's seat. It seemed like he wasn't having it today. He saw Lin entering the classroom and for a second it looked like he was going to shout at him, but after looking at him like he was about to murder him, he dropped his head on his table, seemingly trying to sleep.

"So the monkey does use his brain at times. Interesting to know," as he saw the blockhead desperately trying to control his temper, Lin could not help but smile. At least he is trying to not be problematic. Otherwise he would've had to go to extreme measures to deal with it. And since Luke was also part of the Hamill Family, that wasn't a risk free method.

As he moved to the back where his assigned seat was, he saw Rin poking her head from the side frequently, and then acting as if she hadn't done a thing. Lin shook his head and dismissed her actions. It had been peaceful for a while with having no Rin to pester him around. For some reason, she had been avoiding him ever since the test for some reason. Lin, satisfied with the break he had gotten didn't think of anything wrong with it, and wished it would last forever. Sadly, he knew it probably wouldn't. The only probable way to escape from her is to climb the power ranking to heights that had previously never been achieved. Rin always had a fear of being unable to catch up to people she liked, whether it'd be him or her dad whose footsteps she chose to follow. Therefore leaving her in the dust would probably be the best choice.

"Well, there is another option.. although that would depend on whether I have the necessary skills or not."

As Lin thought about the other method to escape Rin, the class teacher had entered the room.

The first class of the academy had finally started.
