Chapter 479: Methods (Edited)

As Harry waited nervously, his flying broom came out of the castle, skirted the edge of the Forbidden Forest and flew quickly in his direction. Soon, it flew into the meadow, stopping violently in midair beside him, waiting for Harry to mount it.

With a small sigh of relief, and not caring what the commentator, Ludo Bagman, and the crowd around him shouted, Harry jumped on his broom, kicked the ground, and flew into the air.

As Harry rode on his flying broom to chase the Swedish Short-Snout Dragon away from the eggs, Krum, in the tent, was frowning.

For just now came Bagman's loud shout.

"The idea is unbelievable! I wonder what Mr. Krum will think when he sees it."

His comment was very vague, as there were still players left to participate and he could not reveal the methods of the previous participants.

But these things could not be hidden from Fish, who flapped his cat ears and, from the sounds he picked up, guessed what Harry had done.

Seeing Krum's puzzled look, Fish said, "Harry used the summoning spell to summon his flying broom nya."

Krum was taken aback for a moment, followed by an annoyed expression, but soon adjusted his mindset and said quietly, "You shouldn't have told me that."

"Nya?"

??

Fish looked at him in confusion.

Krum was considering his words, thinking about how to explain to Fish, but Fish's attention was no longer on him...

Because the fire dragon models suddenly stopped fighting.

"Move it nya! Fish wants to see you fight."

?(?ΦДΦ?)?

Fish patted the glass jar in front of him, urging unsatisfied.

Krum: "..."

Fleur aside looked at Krum's sour face and finally couldn't help but laugh.

After Fish's interruption, the two were inexplicably relieved....

The model fire dragons in the glass jar were probably tired and ignored Fish, but each chose a corner and took a rest.

Fish looked at them for a while, but finally gave up...he can't dismantle them all, can he? Fish liked the dragon models better than the golden cat statue Malfoy had given him.

"Roarrr!!!"

At that moment, there was a terrible icy roar coming from outside, and Bagman's impassioned comment, "Well done! He's got the golden egg."

This was followed by a roar of cheers from the audience.

Fleur straightened up and rose from her stool, clutching her wand tightly, waiting for the whistle.

Harry flew overhead on his flying broom, clutching the golden egg he had snatched from under the fire dragon's nose, he took a moment to catch his breath and suddenly felt an itch on his face, Harry unconsciously reached up and wiped it off, feeling a fine powder.

The Swedish Short-Snout dragon, having been hit by Harry's conjunctivitis spell, had been spitting blue flames in his direction, and although Harry had done his best to avoid it, he had lost most of his hair, which made him look very funny now.

But Harry didn't take such a trivial matter to heart, he smiled broadly, basking in the joy of his success with the golden egg and the cheers of the crowd around him.

The dragon trainers came running into the arena, soothing the wrath of the Swedish Short-Snout dragon, and Harry was sure he saw Charlie among them.

He descended from the sky with the golden egg in his arms, and Professor McGonagall, Professor Moody and Hagrid rushed to greet him.

"That was brilliant, Potter!" exclaimed Professor McGonagall as soon as she stepped off the flying broom and, looking him up and down, asked worriedly, "Are you hurt?"

"No, Professor," Harry smiled, "I just got a bit of a hair burn."

Hagrid patted Harry on the back, "You did it, Harry! You did it!" He repeated over and over, pushing Harry back and forth.

Then, flanked by the three professors, Harry made his way to the Gryffindor stand.

Meanwhile, the fire dragon had been subdued and Bagman was shouting at the top of his lungs, "Great performance! Now for the judges' scores!"

Harry looked up at the stands of the five judges and saw Madame Maxime raise her wand and from it came a long silver ribbon of something twisting and turning until it formed a large "9".

Next came Mr. Crouch, who also threw a "9" into the air.

Then Bargman and Dumbledore both drew a 9, and Hagrid started slapping Harry again.

Finally, Professor Karkaroff, with a sullen face, gave a 6.

There was loud booing, not only from the Gryffindors, but also from the other houses.... well, except Slytherin.

Professor Moody snorted in disdain, and even Professor McGonagall frowned in disgust.

But Harry didn't care anymore, most of the school was rooting for him after this match, especially when it was the Gryffindor stand and Ron came over to talk to him.

"Harry," he said, his countenance very serious, "Whoever will throw your name into that flaming goblet... I... I think they want your life!"

"Do you finally understand?" Harry said coldly, "It's been long enough."

The rest of Gryffindor watched them nervously, and the twins kicked Ron covertly.

"Sorry." Ron, who had been kicked twice, lowered his head and blushed, "I shouldn't have doubted you."

"It's okay," Harry forgave Ron politely and gave him a hug, "Forget it."

The Gryffindors around him cheered once more and attacked Karkaroff with the same hatred.

At that moment, Fleur also made her appearance, and Harry, along with Ron and the others, watched from the stands as she cautiously approached the green Gallic dragon.

He raised his wand and used an unknown spell on the Green Welsh dragon. The fire dragon's head fell to the ground and its eyes slowly closed.

"It must be some kind of powerful hypnotic spell," Ron stared at Fleur nervously and muttered, "Be careful, don't wake him up...".

Harry rolled his eyes, knowing that Ron was one of those people easily swayed by Veela's, so he didn't bother him, just watched that Ron didn't jump in to help Fleur with the fire dragon in the heat of the moment.

"Watch out!"

Ron and the students around him suddenly let out a cry of alarm.

Harry tugged unconsciously at Ron's robes and looked out into the field. The green Welsh dragon had not woken up, but the flames from his snort had reached Fleur's dress, but Fleur had quickly summoned a stream of water to douse the flames.

Having nearly burned herself, Fleur was wiser and took about ten minutes to steal the golden egg from under the sleeping fire dragon.

Since the green Welsh dragon had been hypnotized by Fleur, it was easy for the dragon trainers to send it off the field to the cheers of the audience and the five judges, as before, gave Fleur her scores in turn.

Probably because Fleur took longer, so his score was slightly lower than Harry's, and even then Karkaroff only gave him a 6, again to a chorus of boos, but he was unaffected as he remained calmly seated at the judges' table.

Immediately after, the scarlet-scaled Chinese Fireball was thrown onto the field and Victor Krum entered through the entrance of the field.

"Do you think Krum will use the same flying broom as you?" asked Ron nervously.

"I don't know." Harry shook his head, somewhat apprehensive.

He knew that Krum's Firebolt were much faster than his own Nimbus 2000's, and if he used similar tactics to his own, with Karkaroff's favoritism, his score probably wouldn't be as high as his opponent's.

But instead of summoning his flying broom, Krum first used a transformation spell to turn a stone into a boar, using it to draw the fireball away from the dragon eggs, and then used the same conjunctivitis spell as Harry, sending the dragon into a frenzy of rage and confusion, while he took the opportunity to run and grab the golden egg.

"I forgot to use the transformation spell!" Harry slapped his thigh in annoyance, but soon figured that he couldn't, with his shapeshifting skills, create a large enough target to attract the dragon's attention.

"Krum took about as long as you did, and came out unscathed." Said Ron with a sour expression, "Professor Karkaroff will give him a high score."

It was just as Ron had said, Karkaroff had given Krum a perfect 10, only to have Madame Maxime give him back an overbearing 6, resulting in Krum being only 1 point above Harry.

"Hahahahahahahahahaha! He deserved it!" Everyone laughed with glee at the grimace on Karkaroff's face.

The whistle blew again and Fish, who had been waiting impatiently in the tent, appeared at the entrance to the pitch and the stands erupted in the loudest cheer since the beginning of the event.
