Chapter 128: 12 Ways to Cook Dragon Eggs (Edited)

After Hagrid's hilarious explanation, Fish finally understood that he threw the dragon egg into the fire not to boil it, but to hatch it.

"Meow~". ?ω?

Fish's expression was somewhat solemn.

It seemed that the dragon egg was extremely heat resistant, so even if he got it from the bad old man, it wouldn't be easy to cook it.

Although it wasn't impossible to eat them raw... he was used to cooked food, but he really wanted to eat the fried egg.

Hagrid didn't know what Fish was worried about, he was so engrossed with the dragon egg in the fire that he only reacted instinctively to information from the outside world.

For example, when Hermione reminded him that his hut was made of wood and would probably burn down when the dragon hatched, Hagrid just nodded in response, not listening at all.

"So boring..." ?ω?

Fish found it hard to keep looking at a big inedible egg, and here there was nothing else to play with.

"When are we going to the Forbidden Forest, Big Man?"

Fish tugged on Hagrid's sleeve.

"Uh-huh..."

Even Fish couldn't pull Hagrid out of his self-imposed world, he muttered, fiddling with the fire with a poker and a happy smile on his face.

Seeing no reaction from Hagrid, Fish sheepishly asked, "So Fish can go by himself?"

"Mmmmm..." Hagrid's reply remained the same.

So Fish jumped up and ran out of the house and, in the blink of an eye, disappeared in front of Harry and the others before Hermione had time to stop him.

"Hagrid~!!!"

Shouted an anguished Hermione, finally bringing Hagrid back to life.

"Hmm? What's wrong Hermione?"

A surprised Hagrid looked at Hermione and asked in confusion.

"Fish has gone off alone into the Forbidden Forest! Go and follow him." Hermione stamped her foot anxiously.

Harry and Ron, who knew that Fish often played in the Forbidden Forest at night, and even went to fight giant spiders, hesitated to speak, but finally chose to remain silent.

And Hagrid looked nervously at the dragon egg in the fireplace and tried to struggle.

"You don't have to worry, Hermione, in fact, Fish doesn't need my care in the Forbidden Forest." Hagrid cheerfully explained to Hermione, "Apart from me, magical creatures like centaurs and unicorns will help watch over Fish."

He said it with such sincerity that Hermione might have been convinced if it weren't for the occasional glance at the dragon's egg.

"After all, you just want to see the dragon eggs, don't you?" Hermione asked, narrowing her eyes with a fierce look.

"Ahem!" Hagrid coughed awkwardly and continued to struggle, "You can't say that, I'm just being a bit lazy because I'm sure Fish will be fine."

Hermione, however, was not convinced by Hagrid's appreciation of the concept of 'safety', especially when it came to magical creatures.

"I'm going to tell Professor McGonagall."

Hermione's tone and demeanor were unusually calm, but Hagrid was alarmed.

"Wait! Wait!" Hagrid stood up and agreed, "I know, I'm going to get Fish."

He reluctantly looked at the dragon egg in the fireplace and, as he paced back and forth, asked Harry and the others, "Then you must help me look after it and not be discovered by others."

Harry and Ron naturally agreed, while Hermione snorted, took the textbook out of her backpack and showed her attitude with practical actions.

Hagrid then reluctantly pushed open the door and left the hut with Fang, following Fish into the Forbidden Forest.

...

It soon became dark, and Fish, as usual, left the Common Room and began to wander around the castle.

Although Hagrid had caught up with him during the day, he had already been in the Forbidden Forest today, so there was no need to go there again at night.

It was more important to find the mean old man and ask him if he could get the dragon egg.

So Fish approached the strange stone statue on the third floor.

"Meow~!"

Fish touched the monster statue with his paw and meowed at it, and it came to life, jumping aside to reveal the cracked wall behind it.

Dumbledore had given the Headmaster's room an extra feline-speaking password so that Fish could come and go as he pleased, something Phineas didn't like at all, but the rest of the Headmaster portraits didn't mind at all and occasionally exchanged words with Fish.

Climbing the revolving staircase to the headmaster's office on the seventh floor, Fish pushed his head through the gleaming oak door and slipped through the opening.

"Caw~"

Fawkes was the first to notice Fish's arrival, letting out a long cry and flapping his wings twice.

"What is it, Fawkes?"

Dumbledore, who was buried at his desk working on various letters, looked up slightly, puzzled, at Fawkes.

As the day of Nirvana drew closer and closer, Fawkes had become less and less energetic, and now that he suddenly let out a scream, Dumbledore was unable to react.

It had to do with the fact that Fish hadn't been in the Headmaster's office for a long time, after all, Fish had homework to do and more interesting things to do in the Forbidden Forest, and most importantly the fact that the Sorting Hat couldn't be stolen, so naturally Fish wasn't coming around as much.

"Dumbledore! Quickly! Hide me!"

The Sorting Hat, which had been placed in the cupboard, was the first to spot Fish and shouted to Dumbledore.

"Oh, so it's Fish."

A friendly smile appeared on Dumbledore's face as he looked towards the door and greeted the small cat that had entered.

"Why are you free to come and play with me today?"

Fish ignored him, but deftly climbed up the cabinet, removed the screaming Sorting Hat and placed it face down on the table as he dived in.

"I told you I'm not a cat's nest!"

The Sorting Hat roared angrily, but just like before, it couldn't stop Fish at all because he couldn't move.

Fish scrambled around inside the hat, purring and squirming in it for a while before he climbed out of the hat, took human form and landed on the ground, and put the Sorting Hat on his head.

"Fawkes, how are you feeling?"

Fish was still unresponsive to Dumbledore's question, but he ran to Fawkes' side with the Sorting Hat on, gave him a calming spell, and then asked worriedly.

"Caw~."

Fawkes reached over, rubbed his head against Fish's face and cried out softly, only weaker than before, even though Fish had used a calming spell on him, he couldn't stop his condition from deteriorating.

But now that Fish knew that the Phoenix could be reborn, he felt little sadness, and after a brief exchange with Fawkes, he ran back to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore, who had been watching with a smile on his face, asked again, "So, what do you want from me today?"

As he said this, he opened the cupboard he had on hand and picked up two cones of cockroaches and handed them to Fish.

Fish was not polite, he reached out and took it, popped them in his mouth and chewed them, then asked in a slurred voice, "Bad old man, can you get dragon eggs?" (●?ω?●)

"Oh... dragon eggs."

Dumbledore still didn't know about Hagrid's acquisition of the dragon egg, he nodded, "Yes I can.... You want to breed fire dragons? But it is now illegal to breed dragons in private."

"No, it's not, meow!"

Fish banged on the table, his mouth watering again.

"I want to eat a dragon egg! Such a big egg, it must taste good!" ?(●Φ﹃Φ●)?

Then he remembered that Hagrid had incubated the dragon eggs with fire...

Fish: "If you know the twelve uses of dragon's blood, you must also know how to cook dragon eggs, right?"

Dumbledore: "..."
