Afriza’s Confession

Velina was stunned by the statement of the man who was seated in front of her.

She would never have thought that the person she thought was an enemy targeting his family, turned out to be the ex-boyfriend of her sister.

Nadine never once told her about this, although they kept calling each other occasionally when Velina was still living a nomadic life abroad.

"What is your name?" asked Velina. She wanted to make sure that the man in front of her actually knew her sister, not an enemy in disguise.

"Afriza .. Afriza Nadim!" He answered.

"All right, Afriza ... Please tell me what happened between you two" asked Velina, in a flat tone.

Afriza then began to tell their story, from the first time they met until when they separated.

"I... Was born into a poor family. I could only go to school since I was young till I went to college through a scholarship..." He started telling his life story.

"I knew Nadine since we used to bump into each other at the campus library. Later, we became close. But I did not have any feelings for her." He took a deep breath.

"One day, some students from other majors confronted me, they said if I managed to date Nadine for two weeks, they would give me a lot of money. At that time I needed money, so I had to accept their request..." Afriza bit his lower lip.

At that instant, Velina could imagine the rest of Afriza's story.

"In short, I managed to date Nadine, and on the day before I had to end our relationship, she happened to overhear about it from the students who challenged me to do so. At that instant, Nadine looked for me to find out the truth. After that, I never saw her again,"

Velina's chest suddenly felt tight. She did not know anything about her own younger sister! Even though she actually had a lot of spies that she could easily ask for help to keep an eye on her only sister.

"So now you're stalking her?" Velina asked, narrowing her eyes.

Afriza swallowed hard at Velina's expression which he thought was scary, giving him goosebumps all over.

"I accidentally met her a few days ago at the cafe where I work. At that time she did not recognize me! I... I... I need money right now! So... I dare myself to borrow money from her because my debt is quite large!" He continued, looking very worried.

"You think because my sister has a lot of money, she will give it to you as easily as she farts?" Velina asked, clearly looking extremely annoyed. This man before her was a complete shameless.

"I owe money for my mother's treatment! Now my mother is dead and I have nothing but debt!" He replied, crying.

Velina knew he was not lying. She fell silent for a long time, stared at Afriza who was still sobbing, he looked very desperate.

She then took out a piece of paper from her wallet and wrote something on it. Then, she gave it to Afriza.

Afriza accepted it and read the writing on the sheet of paper. Suddenly, his throat tightened. As it turned out, it was a check worth of 250,000 dollars!.

He widened his eyes widely, In a complete disbelieved of what he just saw. He rubbed his eyes repeatedly, then, he looked at Velina unbelievably. He tried to say something, however, not a single word came out of his mouth.

"I want you to leave Nadine's life forever. This is not a request. This is an order! My men will always be watching where you are." Velina stared hard at Afriza's eyes.

"This is... Too much..." said Afriza finally, feeling embarrassed and helpless at the same time.

"You can pay your debts and use the rest of the money to start a new life. I only have one condition for you, do not you ever approach my sister again!" Threaten the girl.

"Then…"

"You can go now" Velina continued.

"What about the poison in my body?" He asked timidly.

Velina sighed, then she whispered something to Jena.

Jena then nodded her head understandably and immediately left. Shortly after, she returned with a small tray on both of her hands which had a glass of clear liquid on it.

"Drink this antidote. You'll feel better in a few hours" Velina announced.

With a little suspicion but not daring to argue, Afriza took the glass filled with the clear liquid. He quickly drained the liquid down his throat, because he was afraid that Velina might change her mind.

After he swallowed the liquid, he frowned and tilted his head slightly to the left.

Why does this antidote taste like plain water?

Is she trying to fool me?

He thought to himself.

He became doubtful of Velina's kindness.

"Oh yeah, I have to tell you something. The poison residue will stay in your body forever. You can not smoke and drink alcohol because it will affect your heart. Do you understand?".

Afriza could only nod his head in confusion. He didn't understand at all. It was only a short while ago that this young woman before him looked so cruel.

Then why did she suddenly being so generous now?

There must be something that he did not know!

Velina then snapped her fingers, and someone approached her.

After that, Velina's men immediately covered Afriza's head by using a thick, jet black bag to cover his face and head. The fabric was so tight that Afriza could not see through to see the surroundings at all.

Her men left with Afriza after he saw Velina's consent code, exited the secret facility building altogether.
