------------------------------------------------------------------------Another year at Hogwarts, and right now, Moses, along with Luna, had decided to tag along with the Weasleys on their way to King's Cross Station.

Moses has already received his wand from Mr. Ollivander along with a violet-sleeked designed wand holster. Though, he hasn't touched or used it until now considering that he has currently no used for it. He also doubts if he would even need a wand in his life considering that he can do magic just fine without one. But, for normalcy's sake, he would just use one for public view.

Unknown to him, that the wand that he deemed useless, wasn't just an ordinary wand. It wasn't even a wand to begin with. It was a staff. Where did it come from, you asked? Well, that is a mystery that Moses would need to solve in the future.

"I'll take Ginny, and you two come right after us," Mrs. Weasley told Moses and Luna, grabbing Ginny's hand and setting off. In the blink of an eye, they were gone.

"Shall we go?" Moses inquired of Luna, gesturing towards platform 9 and three-quarters.

"Umm," Luna responded with a nod. In her dreamy eyes, a hint of excitement could be seen. Moses chuckled at her reaction as he dashed toward the platform, with Luna following him, leaving a lightning-scarred boy and a red-headed boy behind.

...

"This is an odd sight..." Luna commented while observing the students boarding the Hogwarts Express.

"Yeah... I guess it is," Moses replied, looking around the enchanted train.

"Let's go now. We've got a minute left!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed as she hastily dragged Ginny towards the train.

Moses and Luna followed behind her, but suddenly Moses stopped in his tracks.

"Where are they?" he mumbled to himself while looking at the vacant platform.

"Mrs. Weasley! Harry and Ron still haven't crossed the platform!" he said as he ran towards Molly, who was busy getting Luna ready.

"What do you mean, dear? They were just behind us, weren't they? Where could they have gone—?" Mrs. Weasley responded with a confused expression, but the sound of the train's choo-choo stopped her from speaking, signifying that the Hogwarts Express was now ready to leave.

"Oh, goodness! Go on now, you three! I will take care of Harry and Ron!" Mrs. Weasley said in haste as she pushed Moses, Ginny, and Luna. Ginny looked at the retreating figure of Mrs. Weasley with a worried expression, which Moses noticed.

"Don't worry, I'm sure they're okay," Moses assured her, to which the redheaded Weaslette nodded. After leaving their pieces of baggage where they should be, they marched off to find a vacant compartment for themselves. But when they saw Hermione in one of the compartments along with Neville, they decided to sit with them.

"Where are Harry and Ron?" Hermione asked. Moses answered her by saying, "They weren't able to cross the platform for some reason..."

"Why?" she asked again, but Moses only shrugged off her question. The truth is, Moses knew that Ron and Harry were all right. After all, he had already given them enchanted tags similar to a permanent enchantment, which had the same functions as the ones he gave to his Uncle Erik and his family.

He had given them those as a remembrance of the arduous training they had persevered through.

As long as the alarm function of those dog tags did not trigger, all would go well. Besides, he couldn't babysit them all the time. What was the point of their practice then?

An hour later, the twins and Percy arrived in their compartment and also asked them about what had happened to Ron and Harry, and Moses replied again with what he had said to Hermione.

Luna and Ginny were both too tired and went to take a nap, and Neville had already fallen asleep even before them, leaving only Hermione, who was reading Gilderoy Lockhart's book, and a yawning Moses.

"You could sleep on my shoulder. I won't mind," Hermione suggested with a small blush on her cheeks. Her gaze was still fixated on the book that she was reading, but instead of reading it, she only used it as a cover to avoid eye contact with Moses.

"Mmm? Yawn Okay," Moses replied as he leaned his head on Hermione's shoulder. The little witch gained a bit of a flush on her cheeks as she continued her fake reading. An hour later, she too felt her eyelids become heavy and her energy faded from exhaustion, causing her to lean onto Moses' head.

Arriving at Hogwarts, Luna, Ginny, and the other first years were taken by Hagrid to ride the boat across the lake, while Moses and the others were guided by Professor Flitwick through Hogwarts, riding a self-driving carriage based on what Moses had seen.

Moses boarded the carriage with Hermione, Neville, and a girl currently under an invisibility spell. While in the carriage, Hermione suddenly asked him, "By the way, Moses, we still haven't seen Wednesday, right? She's not in this carriage."

"What do you mean? She's obviously right beside you," Moses simply responded, pointing his lip beside Hermione.

"What—" uttered Hermione, but a lifeless feminine voice suddenly spoke beside her.

"As expected. You could still see me," Wednesday muttered with her usual impassive voice, staring intently at Moses.

"From the very start," Moses replied with a teasing smile.

"Then why haven't you said so?" Wednesday asked him, staring at Moses annoyingly.

"Just 'cause~," said Moses as he whistled, avoiding Wednesday's annoyed stare.

'I thought she would forget about her investigation about me by now, sigh~' Moses thought to himself with a heavy sigh.

'What a drag...' With those thoughts in his head, the long line of carriages treaded along the pathway inside the forest surrounding the great castle of Hogwarts, each of its passengers thrilled at the new adventurous year that they would encounter in this school year. Speaking of adventure, it seemed like two students had already experienced their first taste of it through a 'fun' ride in a flying Ford Anglia.

"Has anybody seen Trevor...?"

"""Again?"""

-------------

Arriving inside the majestic castle, Moses and the other students took their designated seats at the Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff tables for the Sorting Ceremony of the newly arrived first years. As usual, Moses and Wednesday sat at the far end of the Ravenclaw table.

A few minutes later, the first years arrived with Professor McGonagall leading them, her typical stern look on her face. She walked onto the platform and scanned the entire Great Hall until her gaze settled on Moses and Wednesday. Moses nodded at her, and she responded with a nod of her own.

"I didn't know you and Professor McGonagall were close?" Wednesday inquired.

"I just nodded on instinct. It felt weird not to do something, haha," Moses replied with a sheepish laugh, redirecting his attention to the first years being called up by Professor McGonagall.

After a few roll calls, Ginny was sorted into Gryffindor, earning loud cheers and applause from the Gryffindor house, especially from the twins.

Moses was eagerly awaiting Luna's sorting. He had been curious about Luna's house since the summer break and secretly hoped she would become a Ravenclaw like himself.

"Lovegood, Luna!" Professor McGonagall called out, holding a parchment.

Luna revealed herself and stepped toward the platform, where Professor McGonagall placed the Sorting Hat on her head.

"You seemed more attentive...?" Wednesday asked, looking at Moses with twinkling eyes. She found Moses' expression unbearable for some unknown reason.

"She's my very first friend, of course I would be more attentive... I hope we're in the same house so we can be Ravenclaw triplets, like Harry, Hermione, and Ron! Oh yeah~ Let's call ourselves that!" Moses blabbered excitedly, causing Luna to give him a detestable stare.

"Ravenclaw triplets...? As if I'll let you," she uttered, exasperated.

---------------------------

"What house do you think you'll be sorted into?"

Moses' question still baffles me to this day, but here I am now, wearing the hat that will answer his question, a question that even I don't know the answer to.

Hufflepuff, yes, I could be a Hufflepuff, but I have a feeling that being a Hufflepuff is not for me. Daddy said Gryffindor is a rowdy bunch and that they are very brave... and I don't think I'm either of those.

Bravery is a very respectable quality, but being afraid is also good. After all, how can you be truly brave if you don't even know what you fear? From what Daddy told me, most Gryffindors rush blindly without truly knowing what they fear...

As for Slytherin and Ravenclaw... Well, there's no need to dilly-dally anymore.

'My mom said that you can read my mind. Is that true?'

I was in a different place now... Mom called this place a 'mind palace.' She said that in here, I can do whatever I want and remember things whenever I want. It's a place where we mostly hang out... even now.

Lost in my thoughts, a blurred figure suddenly appeared in front of me. He looked very strange... I don't think he is human at all, at least, it doesn't feel like it.

'Ohh~ A conversation inside someone's mind... It's been a long time since someone had a conversation with me in here, hohoho~,' he cheerily uttered.

When I heard his voice, I immediately knew who he was.

"Nice to meet you, Sorting Hat," I greeted him with a small smile.

"Likewise, Luna Lovegood. I can see that you have a very interesting mind, young lady. It's an odd place to be in," he said, looking around at our surroundings.

The place we were in was mostly white, with light blue skies and beautiful fluffy clouds hovering closely above our heads. The strange thing, however, was that at the edge of our vision, only an infinite expanse of whiteness could be seen.

"Mom helped me with everything. We based it on a white canvas," I said.

"I see... So we're inside a white canvas now, huh... a formidable defense that you and your mother have created there, young Luna... and speaking of your mother... Pandora. A bright witch... one of the best that I've encountered," he commented.

"I know..."

After a few moments of comfortable silence, a gentle breeze brushed against our skin. It was a place where I could find peace... Mom was so proud of me when we finished creating this place...

"Well, let's stop wasting our time. Young Luna Lovegood... The path you're trying to take is a very difficult one, child. Are you sure you want to take it?"

"I'm already on it, Mr. Hat." I answered without hesitation. The moment she was taken right before my eyes, I had already made my choice.

"If it aligns with what you want to do, then I have no authority to deny your request... Good luck on your quest, young Luna," the Hat said with a hint of solemnity in his voice.

"Thank you," Luna replied gratefully.
