Luna

[St. Ottery Catchpole, July 9th, 1991]

After my peculiar encounter with the owl and the letter, I chose to sleep on it and decided to deal with it tomorrow. I don't know if someone is pranking me, but if someone did indeed have, a prank that odd, then I believe my friend Luna is the one who did so.

Luna Lovegood is a very odd individual whom I have befriended 1 year ago. She was the very first friend that I've ever made. You can say that she's a little eccentric and weird most of the time, but that's the reason why I love her!

(Flashback)

A fine and sunny morning. It would be like that if I wasn't floating up in the clouds right now, disregarding the rules of nature by changing the weather.

Once the two commandments came out of my voice. The once peaceful white clouds turned into dark clouds that produce fast streaks of bolts of lightning and a disastrous gale of winds.

"Too...strong, I need to perfectly control how much energy I will need to exert, losing consciousness is such a pain in the ass," I uttered with a lazy sigh,

I've been up here for an hour already, creating unexplainable thunderstorms in different parts of England, sometimes I come down for a recharge of my energy. I'm not surprised if the news has already heard about the unpredictable weather at this point.

The reason that I'm practicing such a huge scale of power is that I want to know exactly what the area of effect is and I must do this while maintaining 10% reserves of my energy. I can't really do it down below without anyone noticing me considering the area that I affect using my weather manipulations is over 3 km.

'Air Manipulation, electricity manipulation, thermal manipulation, and water manipulation...neat.' I thought satisfied with my new commandment arsenal.

Finished with my daily practice for today, I willed the weather to become normal again and canceled my elemental immunity commandment.

With my new command, my body vanishes into thin air as I descend down below my hometown, Ottery St. Catchpole.

A few meters, however, I saw a dirty-blonde girl near the river where I was taken from when I was a toddler. I look at her curiously because it's the first time that I saw her near this area.

Once I dropped down behind her, I erased both of my orders and made my presence to her.

"Hi?" I uttered.

"Hello..." She spoke in a dreamy and soft tone.

"Can I ask what you are doing here?" I asked her, there are usually no people in this area.

"I came to float my flower on the river..." She turned around and faced me allowing me to see her face clearly.

With short dirty-blond hair, silvery blue eyes, and a dazed, dreamy look on her face, she gazed at me with her dreamy eyes, she opened her palm allowing me to see a bundle of Aster flowers.

"It's my mom's favorite flower." She said with an innocent smile.

"I see...why do you need to float it in the river? Isn't it better to just give it to her?" I asked with a puzzled expression.

I walked to her side and lay down on the grass with my hands behind my head.

"She died yesterday..." She mumbled in her dreamy voice making me shocked at what she just said. I looked at her silver-blue eyes and noticed a hint of sadness and grief in it.

She lay down on her knees and sat beside me.

"I see...was she a good mom?" I asked her,

"Hmm...she was the best." She answered with a nod, as her face made a tranquil look seemingly reminiscing about something.

"Father Orsi said that all people who do good deeds go to heaven and have a lot of fun there with the Lord Jesus, I'm sure she's in there having fun too," I said with a gleeful look while remembering what father said.

"Heaven?" She questioned, tilting her head.

"Yeah, heaven...it's up there, though the father said that even though it's up in there, it is invisible that's why we can't see it. He also said that everything that we want is in there too, it's a place full of fun and joy, maybe even pizzas, I've never tried one before." I uttered while waving up my hand.

"Heaven...that's interesting." She muttered with her dreamy look.

"I know...I want to go up there too and have fun but father said I can't yet, he said that I must become an old man first and have a good life because that's what Lord Jesus wants." I said in a relaxed tone while closing my eyes.

"...Can I ask what your name is?" I asked as I turned to face her making our eyes meet.

"Luna. Luna Lovegood." She answered with a charming smile, her previous hint of sadness gone, replaced by cheerful eyes.

"...What about you?" She asked me with anticipation. I looked at her eyes and answered with a friendly innocent smile.

"My name's Moses...just Moses." I answered in a relaxed tone as I closed my eyes and felt the fresh breath of the wind.

We stayed there for a few hours completely submerged in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. So cozy that I fell asleep and when I woke up she was already gone.

Starting that day, the river where Father Orsi and Sister Lily found me became our daily rendezvous, it's where we created our own world devoid of any fear and sadness and laughed our own hearts in the different plays that we both enjoy.

(Present)

And that's how I met my first and only friend. If every child in the orphanage is my sibling then Luna is my very first friend.

"Moses, rise and shine~" A beautiful feminine voice appeared behind the opening door, revealing Sister Lily.

Sister Lily and Father Orsi are the people that I trusted the most, however, I didn't manage to tell them my biggest secret. In the course of my study in science and life, I've come to know that a person that has an ability like me...doesn't exist. I thought it was a normal occurrence for me to have power when I was a child...oh how wrong I am...

If there's one thing that I am...it's that I am an abomination. An impossibility. I'm scared that if I tell them my abilities...they will think of me as a monster, which I can become. Every time that I thought of that complication, my crippling anxiety arose deep within me. That's why I didn't tell them...and I think, it's better this way, it's for everyone's good.

"Good morning, Sister Lily." I greeted her with a melancholic smile. She opened the curtains of my window causing the sun to bask me with its morning light.

"Morning~, breakfast on the table, oh and dear Luna's waiting for you by the river if you're wondering~, so better go move fast," Sister Lily said while looking at me with a teasing look.

'What's with her face, she always does that when Luna visits...' I pondered with a thoughtful expression.

Ignoring what was wrong with Sister Lily, I stood up and fixed my bed ready to go down below. After talking with the others and having a breakfast of fish and smash potato, I went to where Luna is. Once I was outside, I saw her near the river on her knees looking down at the fishes.

"Good day Luna," I greeted with a gleeful tone.

"Good day, Moses!" Luna greeted back, her face and tone of voice were ever so dreamy.

"You've made a really odd prank on me Luna, what's the owl's name? Is she your new pet?" I said with a smug tone, boasting how I found that it was her who gave it to me.

"Odd prank? Owl pet?" She said with a confusing tone in her voice, she looked at me with a perplexed look.

"Maybe you will remember if I gave you this," I said as I gave her the letter that I received from the owl, she received the letter and opened it.

"There's no need to be coy about it Luna, your prank failed, you expect to avenge the mustache doodle that I wrote on your face with that?" I said while she seriously read what was in the letter.

"So you're a wizard." She muttered.

"Well, according to you I am," I said in an obvious tone.

She looked into my eyes and grabbed my hand as we ran off away from the river into an unknown vacant place.

"Luna, where are we going?" I said in a disgruntled tone,

"My home." She said making me shocked at his statement.

I've always asked Luna where her house is and wondered if I can visit it but she always said no in the past, what's new now?

"I thought I can't visit your house?"

"Well, that was before." She said, she stopped for a second.

"We're here..." She muttered under her breath.

"There's nothing here, Luna?" I said with a puzzled tone while eyeing the vacant field of greens. I looked at her again and saw her take a step into...nothingness. Her foot was gone.

"Luna! Your foot!" I shouted, bewildered at what I saw to which she only chuckled. She continued her movements as her body entered into an invisible ripple, my hand also entered through it causing me to feel a thin jelly-like substance that drove through my skin as I entered.

Once I entered, the barren land that I saw was no more, in it, however, was replaced by a very bizarre-looking house with an odd-looking shape.

I looked at Luna dumbfoundedly and saw her cheerful smile.

"Welcome to my home, Moses."
