When Tony got into the car, he quickly understood what was happening. He immediately instructed the driver to stop.
"No, I can't leave. I have to see what this virus is all about!"
As a superhero, Tony Stark may have the personality of a playboy and a carefree attitude, but he never lacked a sense of justice.
With such a terrifying virus outbreak on Kyushu Island, there was no way he would just run away.
Soon, right there on the street, he donned the Mark V armor and flew straight toward Kyushu Island.
"Mr. Stark! Mr. Stark..."
Watching Tony fly away, Ando Miyun's face turned slightly cold, and she took out her phone.
"Boss, Stark is heading to Kyushu Island."
.............
Over Kyushu Island~
Tony saw thick smoke rising everywhere.
Clearly, there were fires burning on the ground.
Numerous helicopters were flying across the sky, and heavily armed troops were guarding every checkpoint on the ground.
The situation on Kyushu Island was extremely chaotic.
After observing for a while, Tony spotted those who had been infected.
To call them "people" would be an exaggeration; they looked more like monsters. They moved swiftly and with incredible agility.
By his estimation, they could run 100 meters in about seven or eight seconds.
Moreover, they were incredibly strong, with some of them even tearing a living person apart with their bare hands. It was clear that ordinary people, even with firearms, stood little chance against these creatures.
Wait, even with firearms, victory wasn't guaranteed. Looking down, Tony saw a wave of more than a hundred monsters charging towards a checkpoint.
It was a T-shaped road, and behind it was a police station. A group of police officers was manning the checkpoint.
They hid behind police cars and various debris, watching the wave of zombies approach with fear in their eyes.
"My god, so many monsters!"
"What are we supposed to do?"
"We're doomed, we're all going to die."
Seeing the morale so low, the chief, who was in his forties, knew that if this continued, the defense line would collapse even before the fight started.
So, he raised his pistol and stepped forward.
"Everyone, I know you're scared, but behind us are our wives and children, our parents, and the honor and hope of Great Japan."
"I will stand and fight alongside you all, and even if we die, we will not retreat!"
With that, he led by example and pulled the trigger.
"Bang! Bang!"
Unfortunately, the Japanese police mostly use the P230 pistol, with a caliber of only 7.65mm. The bullets couldn't even kill the zombies.
Not only that, but they barely slowed the zombies' advance.
Seeing their chief's bravery, the other officers were also inspired and began firing sporadically.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Although they had the courage to fight, their efforts were largely in vain.
Only a few lucky bullets hit the zombies in the eyes, destroying their brains. Most of the bullets, however, struck their bodies, doing nothing to stop their advance.
The zombies were getting closer, and were about to break through the defense line and start a massacre when a red and white figure descended from the sky.
With a "boom..." sound, Tony landed, stomping two zombies under his feet. Then, with a repulsor blast from his palms, he fired.
"Zap! Zap!"
Two zombies were instantly blasted in the head.
"Mr. Stark, based on analysis, these monsters' weak points are the brain and the cervical spine. Destroying the brain will kill the monster, and breaking the cervical spine will disable its mobility."
"Got it."
With that, Tony continued using his repulsor blasts to attack the zombies.
The Mark V armor was designed to be portable and lightweight, so it didn't have mini-missiles, flares, or armor-piercing rounds.
Its only offensive capability was the repulsor beams. Luckily, the reactor in his chest provided enough power to sustain continuous firing.
The surrounding police officers, seeing Iron Man appear, cheered loudly.
"Look, this must be military support!"
"Oh my god, has our country developed battle robots?"
"The government won't abandon a single one of us!"
Mistaking Iron Man for a robot from their own military, the officers were inspired and fired their weapons with renewed vigor.
With Tony's help, the hundred or so zombies were quickly taken down one by one.
The police chief, exhausted, approached Tony.
"Thank you very much, Mr. ... uh..."
As a chief, he knew this wasn't a government or military rescue; this was a superhero who happened to be in the right place at the right time.
"You're welcome."
Tony wasted no time in pleasantries; he took off immediately, heading to the next location.
.........
Meanwhile, back in New York, at Tony's seaside villa, it was nighttime due to the time difference.
Pepper had just returned home after a busy evening of social events. She kicked off her heels, dropped her bag, and lazily slumped onto the couch, turning on the TV.
"Reports from our station indicate a terrifying virus outbreak in Japan last night. Those infected turn into bloodthirsty monsters that attack anyone on sight."
"Our Congress is holding an emergency meeting to decide whether to send troops to the Sakura nation."
"CBS brings you the latest news: Six months from now was supposed to be Japanese elections."
"However, last night, a strange virus outbreak occurred on Kyushu Island in Japan. Those infected turn into zombies like in the movies."
"The United Nations has issued an emergency quarantine notice and suspended all flights to Japan."
"Umbrella Corporation has announced a new joint venture with Russia to establish a new branch."
"This is a reporter from Japan. Here, you can see Japan's Self-Defense Forces and our U.S. military personnel working together to construct a quarantine barrier on the borders of Kyushu Island."
"This is to prevent the spread of terrifying monsters, which are like zombies; they are incredibly difficult to kill and spread the virus rapidly."
Switching through several channels, most were covering the virus outbreak in Japan.
Pepper's expression grew more serious.
After all, Tony was still in Japan. With this thought, she quickly made a phone call.
Fortunately, it was answered after just a moment.
"Hello, Tony, where are you?"
"Boom..."
"I'm busy right now. What's up?"
"Rat-tat-tat..."
Listening to the sounds of explosions and gunfire over the phone, Pepper became instantly worried.
"Tony, are you alright? It sounds like there's a war going on where you are!"
"Oh, Pepper, you won't believe this. There's been an outbreak here—some kind of zombie-like monsters."
"You mean you're fighting zombies now!"
"Don't worry, I'm perfectly safe. My armor will protect me."
"No, I want you to come back. I want you to come back safe and sound."
"I'm busy. Can't talk now. I'll come back later."
As Tony hung up the phone, Pepper was filled with anxiety.
She knew Tony's personality.
He was stubborn!!
Just like when he decided to shut down the weapons development and manufacturing division. When he made up his mind, there was no considering the consequences.
And now, there was no way she could persuade Tony to come back. Thinking for a moment, she dialed another number.
"Hello, Professor Charles? I need your help with something."
