Chapter ten:

Agent Barton took charge of flying the helicarrier. If I knew where we were going. I would have flown over there instead of being in the same room with Tony Stark. Meditation didn't help one bit since he began groaning in annoyance. This curse from Malchior would come in handy right about now. Only I swore I wouldn't use it unless necessary. As much as I would love to curse Tony into a book, I can't.

We arrived in the quaint house in the middle of nowhere. Agent Barton had Natasha Romanoff wrapped around his shoulders as we made our way to the front porch.

What is this place? Thor asked.

Tony looked around. Safe house.

Let's hope. Replied Thor.

I gave the boys blank looks as Agent Barton opened the door. If this isn't a safe house then why would Clint bring us here? I asked.

Well, because. Tony said.

I cut Tony Stark off. I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to Fabio over there. I motioned to Thor.

Thor looked confused. Who's Fabio?!

I let out a breath as I rolled my eyes. For a god, you would think he would know something. Anything. I followed the rest of the team into the house. And that's what it was. Just a house. A home to be exact. I saw a few magazines on the table along with a tea cup, someone else was living here.

Honey? I'm home. Agent Barton said. Wait, we're in Clint's home? This woman came out of the decorative paper. I then noticed the huge baby bump on her stomach as she came to the living room. Hi company. Sorry I didn't call ahead of time. Replied Agent Barton.

The woman smiled and kissed him on the lips.

This is a agent of some kind, Tony Stark said. Yes, because if she was an agent, she wouldn't be all gushed over him right now. I told him.

Agent Barton smiled at the woman while wrapping his arms around her. This is my wife Laura. He said.

Laura waved. I know all of your names. She furrowed her eyebrows at me. Except you.

Agent Barton placed his hand towards me. Laura, this is Raven. He said.

Laura placed her hand out for me to shake it, but I didn't take it. Nice to meet you. I told her.

She gave a small smile before placing her hands to the side.

A little girl walked up to us and stared at Thor. Thor's eyes grew more distant. Then the timer dinged, shaking Thor from whatever he was thinking. He shook his head and left, with Steve Rodgers followed. I then followed the pair out.

Thor? Steve Rodgers called out.

Thor shook his head. I saw something in a dream. I need answers and I won't find out here. Thor said.

Thor swung his hammer before flying away. Steve Rodgers was about to follow but I cut him off.

Let him go, I said.

Steve Rodgers sighed before placing his hands on his hips. So, you knew the Maximoffs? He asked me.

I nodded as I crossed my arms. That's something I don't like to admit. I told him.

Steve Rodgers walked up a few steps as we were seeing each other eye to eye. Rae, can you tell me everything you know about them? He asked me.

I ignored the nickname. Like? I asked him.

Like what the girl did to all of us? He asked me.
