The Helpless Avengers

"The Skrulls were just mentioned in the conference room, and then a nuclear missile was launched," Caesar began, his tone sharp and accusatory. "And let's not forget the LA Hell's Gate incident, the New York invasion—all these moments where innocent lives were put at risk. The people in power don't seem to care about the fate of ordinary citizens."

He turned his piercing gaze toward Phil Coulson. "Are you certain the current leaders of America are still human? You know the Skrulls can shape-shift at will and access certain memories. A power like that would be incredibly useful for infiltrating governments, wouldn't you agree, Agent Coulson?"

Caesar's words sent a chill through the room. The way he so casually dismissed the threat of a nuclear strike only amplified the tension. All eyes turned toward Coulson, awaiting his response.

Coulson, visibly shaken, admitted, "Yes, the Skrulls can change their appearance and read memories. But they were refugees, and it was Nick Fury and I who helped them! How could they be involved in secretly taking over the government?"

"I don't know," Caesar replied coldly. "But the possibility exists. You need to check the top officials immediately. Skrull genetics don't lie—their blood is green. Test them, Coulson."

The realization hit Coulson like a hammer. The refugees they had sheltered, the Skrulls, might have infiltrated the human leadership. His face drained of color as he processed the implications. "I need to confirm the identities of all high-ranking officials right now," he said, his voice urgent. "If their blood is green, they're Skrulls. It's detectable."

"So, you're telling me the officials who ordered nuclear strikes may not even be human?" Captain America asked coldly, his voice low and simmering with anger. "And what about Nick Fury? What's his role in all of this?"

Caesar's eyes didn't waver as he continued. "When Coulson first began working under Fury, he was only a Level 3 agent. Yet, after Fury started helping the Skrulls, Coulson went from a mid-level agent to one of the highest-ranking people in S.H.I.E.L.D. within six years. Has such a rapid rise ever happened before in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s history?"

"And Tony," Caesar turned his gaze to Stark. "You, of all people, know that sometimes the Nick Fury we see isn't the real Nick Fury, right?"

Tony nodded grimly. "I can confirm that. At least once, Nick Fury appeared in front of me as a Skrull."

Caesar's voice turned cold as he addressed the group again. "So, considering that Fury is deeply involved with the Skrulls, do you really believe he's unaware of what some of them might be doing? Or has he allowed it to happen, knowing they're trying to take control of humanity?"

His tone sharpened as he continued. "And don't think for a second that S.H.I.E.L.D. will automatically fall in line now that Fury is gone. We mentioned the Skrulls, and what happened? A nuclear response. Are you really ready to face the truth about who's running things?"

Caesar's question hung in the air, and the silence was deafening. Before anyone could respond, the door burst open. Agent Hill strode into the room, her expression grave.

"An agent on the aerospace carrier just tried to sabotage the power plant," she reported swiftly. "He's been neutralized. I took him down myself."

The tension in the room thickened as Caesar's warnings began to feel all too real.

Hill's expression was grave as she spoke. "There's a big issue. The government has introduced the New York Agreement. They claim the Avengers caused too much civilian damage during the Battle of New York and now lack the authority to act as law enforcement or handle judicial matters."

She paused, scanning the room before continuing, "They suspect some Avengers have colluded with alien forces since Loki was let go easily. They're questioning Iron Man's armor technology, thinking it might come from alien sources. And the Hulk? They suspect he might have participated in alien biochemical experiments, labeling him a potential biological weapon for extraterrestrials."

Hill's voice grew sharper. "The government is demanding that all Avengers surrender for testing and be placed under its command to 'protect the world.' Iron Man's tech is to be turned over, and the Hulk is to be strictly supervised."

She let out a heavy sigh. "By the way, Stark Industries' market value has dropped by half. Some politicians are defending you, but the majority of the government and public are suspicious of the Avengers."

The weight of Hill's words hung in the air. Nick Fury's death, the nuclear attack, the government's pressure, and now this revelation about the Skrulls—it all felt overwhelming.

Bruce Banner's face flushed with anger as he clenched his fists. The idea that he or the Hulk could be controlled, or subjected to further painful study, was unbearable.

"Don't let your anger get the best of you, Hulk," Caesar cautioned, seeing Banner's face begin to turn green.

Hulk stepped back, forcing himself to calm down, as Banner regained control.

Caesar's voice lowered to a whisper, "Hulk may have been part of alien experiments, but those aliens? They were Skrulls."

With a flick of his finger, a series of images appeared in the air, showing the Skrulls conducting experiments on beings like the Green Goblin, Lizardmen, Mutants, and even Hulk himself. The Avengers stared in horror as the images displayed gruesome corpses, deformed subjects, and cruel experiments.

Tony Stark's face hardened with fury. "They're monsters! I'm holding a press conference. I'm not letting these aliens get away with it!"

Without hesitation, Tony activated J.A.R.V.I.S. and began contacting media outlets to expose the Skrulls' secret operations. Caesar watched silently, letting Tony take the lead.

Tony's vast influence quickly spread the news, and soon, America was in chaos. The public, suspicious of their own government, demanded answers. But when high-ranking officials took public blood tests to prove they weren't Skrulls, their blood appeared human. The Skrulls had perfected their genetic experiments.

The government swiftly responded to Tony's accusations by demanding a full investigation into him and calling for the handover of his technology. While some supported Tony, others were wary, suspecting his claims. The speed with which the government reacted only deepened the public's mistrust.

Caesar, watching the fallout with a smile, turned to Tony. "Seems like you're in quite the predicament, Tony. So, do you remember our little agreement? Now might be the time to answer."

Tony bowed his head, the Avengers silent around him. The weight of the situation pressed on him—there was no easy solution. The government's grip was tightening, and Hulk's involvement would cause collateral damage. Even if they captured a Skrull, proving the truth wouldn't be easy.

After a long silence, Tony finally looked up at Caesar. "You said if I worked with you, the benefits would be… negotiable, right?"

Caesar's grin widened slightly. "Yes, Tony. What are you proposing?"

Tony took a deep breath. "I need your help. The Skrulls' infiltration is too deep, and Earth is in danger. I'll work with you and offer my technology. But we need to move fast, and we need to expose them."

Caesar nodded slowly. "Very well. Together, we'll bring the truth to light and ensure Earth's safety. You have my support."

With this newfound alliance, the fight against the Skrulls intensified. The road ahead was dangerous, but with Caesar's immense power and Tony's genius, there was still hope for Earth's survival.
