Original Sin

"Definitely, those Chitauri can't wait either," Loki muttered, glancing at the statue of Caesar in the church of the new god. He silently decided:

I must keep those Chitauri under control and try not to destroy these churches.

When it comes to belief, Loki doesn't care.

"But before opening those passages, there may be a little trouble!"

Caesar easily covered his and Valina's faces. Some things can be done, but it's best not to be made public. For example, as the new master, he was about to open the channel for aliens to invade Earth.

"Gentlemen, I think you're in big trouble~!"

"Can I trouble you to hand over the little blue stone in your hand to me?"

Nick Fury led Iron Man and the others, rushing directly into the church. He addressed Caesar, whose face was hidden and whose hands glowed blue.

"Oh," Caesar said, giving Nick Fury a careful look. Then, with a smile, he added, "Why should I give it to you?"

Nick Fury hadn't had time to answer before Captain America hurriedly interjected,

"That thing is too dangerous and must be properly kept."

Caesar glanced at him. Because of the use of Super Serum, his good character was completely magnified. He was considered a brainwashed Captain America and did not reply.

Proper custody? How should it be defined? Who will define it? This is a problem!

"Sir, you have no choice! Immediately hand over the dangerous item in your hands, or we will arrest you for the crime of endangering national security at any cost!"

Nick Fury was much more direct than Captain America. He waved his hand, and Black Widow drew her gun while Hawkeye nocked an arrow. The agents behind also aimed their weapons at Caesar.

Caesar looked at all this coldly. The masked face hid his expression, but the Avengers seemed to feel a sudden chill.

Caesar said softly,

"So, a large group of you suddenly gathered around and used these so-called weapons to target a person who was obviously from a foreign country, forcing him to hand over something in his hand? If he doesn't hand it over, you punish him for the crime of endangering national security?"

"Sorry, this is not my country! But I finally understood that being weak is not the original sin, but arrogance and greed!"

"Dangerous? Endangering national security? Well, I will do as you wish!"

Caesar tapped his left hand, and a massive surge of energy shot straight into the sky, destroying the entire roof of the church.

Above, the clouds parted to reveal a massive space passage that had formed. Countless Chitauri, either riding Leviathans or piloting small flight machines, poured out from a gigantic mothership, descending towards Earth.

The war had begun.

The Avengers, struck by the powerful energy shockwave, watched in shock. Caesar and Valina ignored them and vanished before their eyes. They simultaneously spoke to Loki,

"Now, it's your war!"

Loki glanced at the gathered Avengers. With a flourish, he donned his Asgardian armor, spear in hand, and declared to the vigilant heroes,

"Midgard! Your ruler is back!"

But before he could finish, a barrage of arrows, bullets, and artillery fire engulfed him. As the smoke cleared, Loki waved his hand, unharmed, and coughed before addressing the Avengers,

"Damn, can't you just let me finish?"

"Kill them!" Loki ordered, and a swarm of Chitauri, piloting small craft and wielding energy guns, attacked the Avengers. The battle officially began.

Without Thor's help, what could the Avengers do?

Thor, watching through Heimdall's eyes, saw Loki alive on Midgard. But seeing Loki with Caesar, Thor had no reason to expend the massive amount of dark energy required to return to Midgard to capture Loki.

The Chitauri are a warlike race, similar to the Zerg. They are part machine from birth, making them fearless, incredibly strong, and resilient. Each Chitauri soldier is nearly as powerful as a Level 1 agent, except for one weakness: if their mothership is damaged, all Chitauri controlled by it will be paralyzed. However, the mothership is far beyond the void, and each Chitauri soldier is far more powerful than the average S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

The battle quickly became one-sided. Ordinary bullets were ineffective unless they hit the Chitauri's under-protected heads, but every Chitauri attack could penetrate regular body armor. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents soon suffered heavy casualties.

All of New York was thrown into chaos by the continuous Chitauri assault. The Chitauri didn't massacre or destroy indiscriminately because Loki intended to rule Midgard, not destroy it. For his future subjects, as long as they didn't resist, Loki was willing to ensure their safety to prove he was a qualified ruler. Ordinary people were not directly harmed by the Chitauri, but the ensuing chaos caused significant casualties.

New York's security forces bravely attacked the Chitauri, trying to repel them, only to face inevitable death. The technological gap between the interstellar Chitauri and the Earth-bound defenders was insurmountable.

High above, Loki rode a Chitauri ship, surveying the chaos below.

If the power of the earth was only what it showed before him, then ruling the whole of Midgard would be a piece of cake.

"Damn, there are so many! They're still popping up constantly!"

Nick Fury raised his hand and shot a Chitauri, then yelled eagerly.

Around him, Captain America, Hawkeye, and the others were supporting each other.

"There must be a way to close that portal!"

"Find the mysterious man who disappeared. Only he can turn it off!"

"And try to control the lead bastard at the head!"

Nick Fury quickly arranged the countermeasures.

The countermeasures were solid.

But, with their strength...

The plan couldn't be completed at all.

Iron Man sprinted high into the air, trying to attack Loki directly.

But the massive Chitauri formed a tight defense that stopped Tony's advance.

Alone, in a suit of armor, how much ammo can you carry and how many enemies can you kill?

Not enough. Far from enough.

The Hulk angrily destroyed everything in front of him.

Whether it was Leviathan or Chitauri, they were extremely vulnerable in front of the Hulk.

But, in his rage, he destroyed not just Chitauri and Leviathan behemoths.

He also destroyed New York buildings and the people in those buildings.

The Hulk went crazy, not caring about the safety of ordinary people.

To put it bluntly, the ordinary people who died because of the Hulk's madness far exceeded the casualties that the Chitauri had caused so far.

Caesar concealed his figure, watching all this coldly.

The people of Earth need to understand that the Earth is never safe.

Danger can come at any time.

Tony also needs to understand that the so-called Avengers, the so-called S.H.I.E.L.D., cannot protect Earth at all.

Only God can protect all human beings.

Caesar watched as the Hulk made no distinction between enemy and ally, killing indiscriminately.

He even wanted to laugh. Uncontrollable forces are indeed senseless.

Iron Man was running out of ammo but still struggled on.

He really wanted to protect those ordinary people.

And Nick Fury and the others fought and retreated.

Finding Caesar or closing the space channel? Not even close.

Stopping Loki, who was laughing at them from the sky? Impossible.

Captain America raised his shield to help Black Widow fend off a deadly attack.

But Black Widow didn't even have time to thank him. She hurriedly shot and killed a Chitauri aiming at Hawkeye.

Hawkeye resolutely touched the quiver on his back and shot a sharp arrow with a rope, which hooked onto a flight device.

Then, he tried to climb on top of the flight device to control it and help Tony defeat Loki in the air.

But when Hawkeye had just tightened the rope and was still floating in the air, countless laser attacks instantly turned him into a sieve.

Swinging in the air, he was a living target.

And Hawkeye was just an ordinary person with a mortal body.

The Avengers were losing ground, even the Hulk.

Under the salvo of numerous Chitauri flight devices, they fled in embarrassment.

Caesar watched all this coldly, preparing to wait until the situation was most critical before ordering Angel to take action and save the people from disaster.

However, a sudden message came, interrupting his original plan.
