100 Capturing

"Alex, Anna has escaped," Charles's urgent voice echoed in Alex's mind.

Alex winced, feeling a pang of frustration. Of all the times for his sister to pull a disappearing act, she had to choose now? Right when he was about to enjoy a rare moment of relaxation?

"What in the world, Charles," Alex muttered incredulously, his irritation evident. How could Anna just vanish like this? This was not part of the plan.

"The situation is complicated. Please come here immediately," Charles's voice cut through Alex's thoughts.

"I'm on my way," Alex grumbled to himself, frustration boiling over.

"Jean, I'm sorry, but our lunch will have to wait. There's an emergency with Charles," Alex apologized regretfully to Jean, his plans suddenly thrown into disarray.

Understanding flickered in Jean's eyes as she nodded sympathetically, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"It's okay. We'll make time in the future," she reassured him before swiftly retreating, leaving Alex to deal with the unexpected turn of events.

With a resigned sigh, Alex teleported to Charles's school, bracing himself for whatever chaos awaited him.

"What's going on, Charles?" Alex demanded, his brow furrowed in concern as he surveyed the scene before him.

"Bobby accidentally made contact with Anna, triggering a cascade of memory absorption and abilities. Now both he and Kurt are in shock," Charles explained, gesturing towards the fallen figures. "Anna panicked and teleported away. I need to manage the situation here. I'm counting on you, Alex."

Alex's expression softened at Charles's plea, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I'll handle it, Charles. You focus on helping Bobby and Kurt," he promised, stepping forward to assess the damage and devise a plan of action.

"Iceman?" Alex mused, rubbing his chin as he glanced at the figure lying on the ground. It seemed like he wasn't out of the woods yet.

In the original storyline, this guy had his sights set on Anna, although she appeared to have a soft spot for Logan.

"Well, I'll track down this girl right away," Alex affirmed, his mental powers unfurling as he swiftly pinpointed Anna's location.

Canada? That's an unexpected turn of events.

Teleporting himself, Alex found himself amidst heavy snow in Canada, a stark contrast to the autumn scenery of New York. Despite absorbing all the energy cleanly, his body still shivered involuntarily – a reflexive response.

"Why did you come all the way here?" Alex questioned inwardly as his psychic senses homed in on Anna, discovering she was in some sort of underground boxing establishment.

Appearing beside Anna in an instant, he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and said, "Anna."

"Don't touch me!" Anna recoiled suddenly, surprise lacing her voice.

"Alright," Alex complied, sensing her fear once again. It was a fear that coiled tightly around her, rendering her unable to touch others and preventing anyone from touching her. It was truly distressing.

"It's you, the liar! You promised to teach me to control my abilities, but I haven't gained any control at all. The moment someone touches me, I absorb their memories and abilities," Anna exclaimed, frustration evident in her voice as she pointed an accusing finger at Alex.

Her eyes welled up with tears, their redness contrasting against the moisture that filled them.

The sensation of disappointing his friend weighed heavily on Alex, leaving him feeling uneasy.

She thought she could control herself, but this was not something she could control at all.

"Go back with me; I will help you solve this problem." Alex looked at Anna helplessly and said.

"No!" Anna shook her head stubbornly.

"Trust me, it's not a difficult thing for you. Didn't Charles tell you I can develop a medicine to make up for the dysfunction defect based on the sequence of the gene?" Alex explained patiently.

"Really?" Anna looked at Alex and couldn't help asking.

"Definitely, let alone, even if you can't touch others, but you still have me, don't you?" Alex took off Anna's gloves, put his cold hand on his face, and said with a smile.

"Look, nothing happened. I am immune to your abilities. You are not alone." Alex touched Anna's head and said softly.

Anna nodded, her resistance not so great, and her mood slowly calmed down under Alex's comfort.

"Well, don't worry about anything; just relax yourself. Trust me." Alex assured.

"Yeah! Thank you." There was a smile on Anna's face.
