In the other room, Lumia, who was working on her art while wearing headphones, suddenly removed them and mumbled, "Did someone just shout?" She waited for a moment, and hearing no further noise, resumed her work, putting her headphones back on.

Max calmed his racing heart and said, "Acquire it."

[As you wish.] The system responded, and for a brief moment, his body glowed as it adjusted to the new trait he had acquired.

"Is it over?" Max mumbled, standing up. He grabbed a book and tossed it into the air. As it fell, aimed directly at his head, Max closed his eyes, bracing himself for impact. But nothing happened.

He opened his eyes to see the book lying on the ground. "I only felt something touch me, and then there was nothing," Max muttered, struggling to believe in the power he had just gained.

He also felt a strange energy coursing through his body. Pointing his finger at the book, he flicked it—just a flick, but…

bam!

It produced a heavy sound as the book was thrown a considerable distance.

"The energy release is great!" Max mumbled, feeling the thrill of his newfound power. Then his attention shifted back to the system.

"I wonder what else I will get?" he mumbled out aloud as he sit on his bed.

"System... No, I can't keep calling you 'System.' I'll name you now." Max rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he waited for a response, but the system remained silent.

"Hmmm, I've got it! I'll call you 'Yue,' meaning a beautiful moon," Max declared, glancing at his system screen.

[Name accepted.]

[Congratulations, Host, on completing a hidden mission of naming the system.]

[Host received a designated summoning card.]

Max's eyes widened with excitement at the unexpected reward. He wondered what this summoning card could bring. "What does this card do?" he asked aloud, eager to find out.

He sat down, considering the possibilities of whom to summon, weighing the pros and cons of each potential candidate.

After half a few minutes of brainstorming, Max decided, "I will summon a beautiful ally."

[Pervert.]

"Hm, did you say something?" Max asked, catching a whisper of something.

[It's your imagination.] Yue replied. Max nodded, adjusting the parameters of the summoning card.

"Okay, I've decided. Summon it!"

[Very well, Host, summoning...]

[Congratulations, Host, on obtaining Rize Kamishiro from Tokyo Ghoul.]

A card appeared in Max's hand. As he held it up, he looked at the image: a purple-haired beauty with matching spectacles and a kind smile on her face. However, having watched Tokyo Ghoul, he knew that this woman meant danger.

"By the way, System, will she attack me too?" Max asked, unsure whether he had made the right choice, especially after reading her card that mentioned she also had a dragon form.

[Shouldn't one ask this before setting the status as villain?] Yue replied sarcastically.

"Well, I find villainesses more charming and attractive," Max said, scratching his head, adding, "And I was just too excited about it!"

[Fortunately for you, all things summoned by the system are loyal to the host fully.] Yue shook her head and replied.

"Thanks," Max said, eyeing the card. "For now, I'll store her away." He placed the card into the system's inventory, which only contained objects drawn by the system.

"By the way, System, what's this tier system? I see it in my status and it was also displayed alongside the trait," Max inquired, noticing the tier indicators on the screen.

[The system uses a multiversal grading scale called Tiers,] Yue explained.
