Side chapter: Superhero Prom!

" Hey, Maddy. You look absolutely beautiful." Orion told the girl

Maddy blushed and kissed Orion on his lips. " You doofus. I'm wearing my super suit. You've already seen me in it more than once." Maddy told the boy.

Orion wrapped his arms around Madeline's waist and kissed her cheek." Yeah, and you look absolutely beautiful in it." Orion told the girl.

Maddy giggled and pushed Orion off her. " Stop you big dummy. You're embarrassing me." Maddy told the boy. " I'm sorry I couldn't have worn a dress. It's just with the other teams coming here I don't want anyone to know my identity." Maddy explained to the boy.

" Oh, it's okay. Like I said you look absolutely beautiful as it is." Orion told the girl. " So, do you know who else is going to be coming?" Orion asked the girl.

" I think I heard Spider-girl is coming, Hardball, Firestar, Ultra girl, Komodo, and a few others that I can't remember." Maddy told the boy

" I'm not gonna lie, I only know about two of those people you just named." Orion told the girl. " Oh, wait I didn't ask. What do you think about my outfit?" Orion asked the girl as he looked down at his Black and Red suit.

" You look absolutely wonderful, Rion. My handsome man." Maddy told the boy as she kissed his cheek. " Where'd you get it?" Maddy asked.

" I got it from Strange. Told him about the dance and asked if he'd be able to make a suit for me. And well here we are." Orion told the girl.

" I like it. Now come on." Maddy told the boy as she pulled on his arm. " Let's go have some fun." Maddy spoke.

She dragged the boy out of her room and towards the gymnasium happily laughing along the way. When they opened the door, they were greeted by their fellow students and others from the hero community.

" Wow, looks like a decent amount of people came." Orion told maddy. " But not one of these girls can compare to you gorgeous." Orion sneered as he rubbed his nose against Madeline's cheek.

" Hey, Hank look at that." Tigra told Hank as she spotted Orion and Veil enter the room.

Hank looked over Tigra's shoulder and smiled. " Heh, looks like he's finally coming out of his shell." Hank told the girl.

" You think the transformation had anything to do with it?" Tigra asked.

" What does it matter?" Hank asked the woman. " Our students are doing better. And that's all that does matter."

" Hey! You got some kind of death wish, hitting on my girl?" Orion and Maddy heard Hardball ask Reptil from across the room.

" What's wrong with that guy? This is supposed to be fun." Orion stated.

" Just ignore it. Come on, I see Hazmat over there." Maddy told the boy as she pulled him to the side where Jennifer was standing.

The room was lively and thanks to Dj love master Speedball Hank and Tigra retreated to her room.

" Haha! And once again the love spell of Dj Robbie B brings L'Amour to two uptight souls who just needed the right inspiration. Never met folks that age who can resist take my breath away. It's practically Pavlovian." Speedball bragged to Firestar.

After saying hello to Hazmat, and having Spider-girl talk Reptil into turning back to his younger self, Orion took the chance to slip away from Veil to Approach Dj Robbie B.

" Hey, Speedy." Orion called out to the man on the Dj booth.

" What can Dj Robbie B do for ya?" Speedball asked.

" Think you can put on something slow?" Orion asked.

" You got it my friend. Hey, listen up all yous. You got a date then I suggest you hold on, cuz we're gonna slow things down for a bit." Speedball told the heroes.

Many of the single heroes grabbed partners and joined the couples on the dance floor

Standing in the middle of the room dancing together were Reptil and spider-girl, Firestar and Justice, Veil and Juggernaut, and Hazmat and Mettle.

" Hey, beautiful? You having fun?" Orion asked the girl.

" Of course, I am." Veil replied as she nestled into Orion's chest.

" Hey!" Hardball yelled at Reptil. " Bad enough you hit on my girl. But now it turns out you messed with her on purpose? You could've turned back to normal at any time?" Hardball asked.

" Okay, that's enough. Orion please knock that guy out." Maddy asked the boy.

" On it." Orion replied.

" You earned this punk." Hardball told Reptil. He reeled back and tried to punch Reptil only for his fist to get stopped by Orion.

" All right, dude that's enough. Everyone else is trying to have fun." Orion told the man.

" You wanna go punk?" Hardball asked the boy.

" Hey!" Speedball yelled. " Settle! No fighting amongst ourselves. This isn't the X-Men." Speedball told the three as he got between them.

" This has nothing to do with you loser. So back off." Hardball told Speedball before sending him flying with one of his hard balls.

" Hey punk." Orion turned Hardball around and punched him in the face.

Speedball having recovered joined in the fight as well. " You think you're pretty tough with your energy balls? Fine. Learn from the master!" Speedball yelled as he smashed Hardball with his own balls.

" Yeah, you two have fun playing with your balls." Orion told the two as he walked away.

Maddy watched as Orion sauntered back over to her and bit her finger.

" Sorry about that." Orion told the girl.

" No worries. Say what do you say we get out of here?" Maddy asked the boy.

" What? Why? Are you not having fun?" Orion asked the girl.

" No, I was just thinking it was time I collected on that rain check." Maddy told the boy.

Picking up on what she was saying, Orion turned a shade of red. " Are you sure?" Orion asked the girl.

Veil leaned up and kissed Orion. " Absolutely."

Orion nodded and grabbed Veil and carried her back to his room where they spent the night together, capping off a mindless night made for fun.
