Chapter 115: Kakashi's Counsel

If time could rewind, Kingpin would never have uttered those words of animosity just to show off. Who could have imagined that the leader of the Akatsuki would possess such a personality? Creating immensely powerful weapons for peace, making people understand each other, all by making them feel pain first? You're quite the little genius!

Though there's some truth to these words, Kingpin is already a mentally sound adult; he wouldn't be brainwashed by such ideals. But now, because of his own words, the leader Pain Six Paths actually said, "Let New York feel pain, let this country feel pain." Kingpin doesn't think the leader is bluffing. As the leader of the Akatsuki, Pain is really capable of destroying New York! What's more terrifying is that perhaps Pain does have that power. Kingpin has always hated New York, that's beyond doubt. Because here, he lost the most important people to him. But even with hatred, Kingpin didn't leave New York. That's because he didn't want to be a coward, and more importantly, because he didn't want to leave the place that raised him. After all, New York is Kingpin's home, where he grew up and has childhood memories, though not particularly pleasant ones. But if New York were to be destroyed directly, Kingpin wouldn't agree, because that would also destroy him. After all, he's also a part of New York.

"Leader, Minato Namikaze and Hiruzen Sarutobi are not weak. I'm worried that when you capture the Nine-Tails, they might cause obstacles," suddenly spoke Kakashi.

Without turning his head, Pain looked out the window and said, "In the footsteps of a god, mere mortals cannot block the way."

Upon hearing Kakashi's words, Kingpin was somewhat surprised. "Don't you follow the leader?" he asked. 

Kakashi shook his head, "I'm just here to bring the leader over. There will be another companion coming later. We'll leave together to capture the other Tailed Beasts."

"Other Tailed Beasts?"

"Yes, among the nine Tailed Beasts, there's the Three-Tails ranked third."

"Sir, do you need my assistance?" Kingpin asked hastily.

At this moment, Kingpin had already figured out that since he couldn't stop the leader's actions, he might as well turn a blind eye and just leave. But Kakashi shook his head, "It's not clear who the leader will face here. One person is enough for the Three-Tails. Bringing another companion is just to be safe. We can't bring two."

"Kingpin, stay here to help the leader remove obstacles."

"Yes!" Kingpin reluctantly agreed.

At this moment, a huge black shadow suddenly whizzed past Kingpin's office, causing him to turn his head and see a huge, oddly shaped white dragon hovering outside the floor-to-ceiling window. Standing on the back of the white dragon was a figure dressed in a black robe with a red cloud pattern, just like the one Pain wore. It was none other than Wu Chen, playing the role of Deidara using a clone to split his time.

At this moment, Deidara waved at the floor-to-ceiling window, and Kakashi raised his hand in response. However, after the response, Kakashi didn't leave immediately. Instead, he said to Pain, "Leader, although you're very powerful, it's better to be cautious. When I get there, I'll leak some information, which might attract either Minato Namikaze or Hiruzen Sarutobi. At that time, you can take action!"

Pain didn't reply, just waved his hand to let Kakashi leave.

Seeing this, Kakashi didn't persuade further, summoned a vortex, and arrived on the back of the flying dragon using it.

Whoosh! Deidara and Kakashi flew away on the dragon.

Only Pain and Kingpin were left in the office.

Kingpin felt somewhat uncomfortable. The oppressive atmosphere made him feel uneasy. So he spoke, "Leader, what should we do?"

Kingpin was somewhat worried. What if the leader didn't heed the advice and insisted on taking action now? What would they do then? He had no way of getting off this ship anymore. He could only hope that the captain, the leader, wasn't the stubborn type!

Kingpin silently prayed, hoping that the leader would heed the advice of Kakashi.
