Chapter 032 Is This Magic Still Basic?

Polaris sighed while eating her hamburger. The expression on her face showed that she felt helpless.

As she ate, Luo Bai briefly communicated with her.

"What are you going to do after three months? Will you continue to hide?" Luo Bai asked, taking a bite of his burger.

"I'm just asking," Luo Bai replied while finishing his burger.

What was originally a casual chat during mealtime seemed to have led to some misunderstanding on Polaris's part.

"Master Luo Bai, are you concerned about my future?" Polaris asked suddenly.

Luo Bai was taken aback by the question.

Before he could respond, Polaris continued, "I'm surprised. I always thought you were quite serious, but I didn't expect you to care about me."

Luo Bai actually wanted to say that he was just asking casually, but considering the directness of that would be awkward, he half-jokingly complained, "Am I really that serious?"

Polaris smiled faintly, her lips curling up. "It's not easy to get along with you when you think of me as a thief."

"The situation is different. Who would be approachable to a thief?" Luo Bai countered.

"That's right," Polaris agreed with a nod.

Just then, a piece of news came on the TV.

"Big news! A green giant appeared on the streets of New York today. Special forces immediately evacuated the area... In the end, the green giant was subdued by a mysterious man!" the host announced.

Polaris wasn't the type to keep up with the news, but the person on the screen quickly caught her attention.

On TV, aside from the Hulk, a young man stood out prominently.

Thinking she had seen it wrong, Polaris pointed to the screen and asked, "Master Luo Bai... is that you on the TV?"

Luo Bai looked at the TV while chewing on his burger.

Wow, it really was him.

"I didn't expect to be photographed," he muttered.

After hearing this, Polaris confirmed that the person on TV was indeed Luo Bai.

"So while I was at the supermarket, you went to save the world?" Polaris frowned and complained. "I wondered why I didn't see you when I got back; you were busy dealing with the Hulk?!"

"It's not a big deal to save the world; it was just a little trouble," Luo Bai explained.

As soon as he finished speaking, the TV showed him taking the Hulk's soul with one palm.

Polaris's eyes widened in shock.

"OMG!!! This is a news channel; there shouldn't be any special effects, right?! You took out the soul with one hand??" Polaris exclaimed in disbelief.

This was simply too exaggerated!

Though surprised, Luo Bai remained calm. "Actually, this is just a relatively basic control magic. For those without magic resistance, it's easy to perform."

More basic magic??!

Polaris thought with some trepidation, "Thank goodness you thought I was a thief and didn't use that trick... Otherwise, I can't believe I'd still be alive in this world."

Luo Bai didn't say much. Explaining these things would be quite troublesome for someone who didn't understand magic.

He continued watching the reports on TV, pondering his newfound notoriety. Unexpectedly, his duel with the Hulk had made the news—wouldn't he become famous?

Polaris looked confused and asked, "What's a soul mage or a supreme mage?"

"Nothing," Luo Bai replied lightly, but he was deep in thought.

Being famous has its advantages, but it also poses risks. Many powerful mages exist on Earth, which means he might attract unwanted attention, so he needed to improve his strength as soon as possible.

With that in mind, Luo Bai quickly finished his burger, stood up, and said, "I'm going to the study. If someone comes to deliver something later, Lorna, please remember to collect it."
