Currently, he possesses extraordinary perceptual abilities, comparable or even surpassing those of Professor X in mental power, allowing his reach to extend across the entire United States and some surrounding countries.
He does not delve into others' memories and privacy, yet he is capable of detecting the presence of unusual forces in a location.
During his days at the manor, he made some selections, but the results were not favorable, and he returned without achieving much.
However, Bi Xiao was not discouraged. If all else fails, he could revert to being a vampire hunter. After all, there are plenty of vampires in the United States, and although his experience with vampires has lessened, their sheer numbers are still ample.
Mainly, he spent this time relaxing and resting.
More importantly, he turned his attention to beings of a higher order than vampires, such as demons.
Are there demons on Earth? Certainly, as Ancient One and the Hell Lord Mephisto have made agreements. The sorcerers of the Sanctum Sanctorum also monitor Earth and discreetly handle creatures from other Dimensions that appear here, although strict surveillance still has its flaws.
Demons find various ways to smuggle themselves onto Earth, including through the reckless actions of humans.
Many people, driven by curiosity or a fascination with the forbidden, seek out ancient texts on black magic, hoping to summon demons just to see if it's actually possible.
This provides demons with an opportunity.
Even if they can't physically descend, demons can use these summoning spells as bridges to project their consciousness or power, possess human bodies, and hunt down the souls of those who tempt fate.
For demons, human souls are like a fine meal, purely a part of the food chain.
Smuggled demons stay low, causing subtle disturbances to avoid detection by the Sorcerers of the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Their ability to remain hidden is a special skill of the demons.
It is a talent, as well as a direction of evolution over countless years.
These demons are now Bi Xiao's new targets. Although the world still has a significant number of vampires, a renewable resource, their numbers have peaked and cannot increase further.
His move, to refresh the situation, could take a while.
Thus, demons, with their sufficiently high level of existence and astonishing numbers, are now Bi Xiao's favorite new challenge.
"Hmm?"
While Bi Xiao was patiently reading, suddenly, a selfie and a textual description posted by five students, three males and two females, planning a holiday trip to a cabin in a place called Buckner caught his interest.
But this was not the main point. The main point was when he saw the five students and their description, an image suddenly flashed in his mind.
A huge arm flowing with magma burst through a cabin and slammed down from deep underground.
Other images flashed: the five students being chased by a group of monsters, an altar surrounded by five stone pillars with human figures carved on them, male and female.
There was also a woman in a business suit speaking with two of the students.
This sudden flashback, a glimpse of a future event, made Bi Xiao's eyebrows rise.
A smile involuntarily curved on his lips: "Is this a fragment of a future event? It seems I've initially sparked some kind of precognitive ability, albeit a passive skill for now. To turn it into an active skill, I need to grow, reach a godly level, perhaps then I can see through the river of time like Odin and the Ancient One."
He wasn't interested in the five students; he was interested in the huge arm breaking through the ground, sensing its terrifying presence.
What was this, if not a new quest? A new Boss?
What he saw on his laptop from the students' selfie was a great mass of life essence.
"Let me see your location."
Bi Xiao typed on his laptop keyboard, using his top-tier hacking skills to easily locate the poster's address through the blog—a simple task for him.
Located in the northern part of Ohio in a town called Erie.
And Buckner, as located on the map, turned out to be about twenty kilometers outside of town in a mountainous area.
"It looks like Christmas has given me a big surprise this year," Bi Xiao said as he looked at the somewhat blurry pattern on his laptop and sipped his coffee.
Finding a new boss thrilled him immensely.
Indeed, the internet is where miracles happen, and patience yields rewards.
Located in Ohio, driving the Blackbird Mk II to the site wouldn't take much time.
Bi Xiao gently closed his laptop, looked outside the pavilion at the heavy snow falling, covering the manor in a beautiful snowy landscape. Inside, the female housekeeper was informing the cleaning company's staff to clear the snow from the roads.
Having a housekeeper meant he didn't need to worry about minor chores around the manor. Additionally, since Bi Xiao was from Asia, she considerately hired several chefs from Chinatown skilled in various regional cuisines, allowing him to indulge in his favorites.
Today, he was going to enjoy hot pot—nothing beats hot pot on a snowy day.
...
In Erie, Ohio, in the afternoon, five young students dressed in sweaters and hooded down jackets, along with several large suitcases, prepared for their journey.
"Wow, the weather today is much better than I expected," said a handsome man with short golden hair, dressed in a blue hooded down jacket, carrying a suitcase as he approached an RV.
"I just hope the snow on the road doesn't cause us too much trouble, Curt," said a beautiful blonde girl, rolling her eyes as she took her suitcase and boarded the RV.
"Ha, don't worry, my dear Jules, I've thought of that and switched to snow tires in advance," the blond man said with a smile, following her into the RV.
The remaining three students exchanged glances and then boarded the RV as well.
The RV was spacious enough to accommodate the five students comfortably and had a roomy interior.
The group chatted happily, their youthful energy making them cheer and chatter excitedly in the vehicle.
As they drove further and approached the mountains, the snowscape became even more spectacular. Surprisingly, the roads were clear as if someone had specifically cleaned them.
