Operation: Stone of Power

The sun was shining through the window, and the snow in the mountain forest outside reflected a dazzling light.

Kyle sat on a chair, smiling. He was reading a book while thinking, 'It seems I will be able to go to America a couple of decades before he is born...'

Everyone in the military finalized a Plan B in the likely case of Malick leaving for America being false information. Everyone could only hope that it was confirmed that the flight in six hours was indeed his.

The mission would be called Operation: Stone of Power since the detonator is what contains the fate of the world. Of course, Kyle did not give it such a coincidental name for no reason; it was part of a much bigger plan.

Looking back at the window, Kyle muttered to himself, "The Power Stone..."

This operation will allow Kyle passage and authority almost anywhere in the United States if it contributes to finding the detonator. This would draw Malick out of Germany or eventually lead to the detonator being deactivated once found.

To work hard during the mission without stopping, Kyle would lead a team that would supervise and assists. Since the world's fate was at stake, they secretly sent out their squads on the same mission, privately.

Kyle wanted to use this chance to try to obtain one of the most potent items in the universe.

'The only problem is that the current period is over three decades too early.' Kyle looked down and felt the pain of being in an unfavorable time.

Feeling a bit stressed, Kyle went to his bed to take an early nap. If he got the news that the operation would activate, Kyle would first need to head out to another state.

One week later, in the midwestern part of the United States

Operation: Stone of Power has commenced.

Kyle was riding a motorcycle in a small city. The traffic was rough and caused consecutive stopping for all drivers.

Looking up at the convertible car in his rearview mirror, Kyle quickly ushered through a space between the cars ahead of him as the light turned green.

While constantly speeding up, he pressed a button on the motorcycle, and a steel piping was revealed aiming behind him.

Kyle saw the cars, took aim with the steel pipe, and said, "Three or four enemy vehicles! Easy! They should change the name from Missouri to misery!"

Motorcycles started to appear behind Kyle, but he immediately pressed another button, which sent the cars out of control. Kyle was firing bullets from the pipe, causing smashing and crashing among all the vehicles.

The enemy motorcycles tried to evade but were shot with more bullets by Kyle. They quickly greeted the flames from their vehicles with yelling and screaming.

After getting rid of the entanglement of enemy motorcycles, Kyle looked up and saw a sign which said: 'Welcome to St. Charles, Missouri!'

Out of the memories Kyle remembered of the Power Stone, Kyle knew that one man was able to possess it before Thanos could. That man is Peter Quill or Star-Lord. Another thing Kyle remembered was that he was born in Missouri in 1980.

In the week spent, Kyle drove around the cities of Missouri looking and investigating for the Quill family until he finally reached St. Charles. Unfortunately, Peter's mother is only a baby as of now.

Not only that, but Kyle faced attacks from Hydra soldiers when he was investigating the state on his bike. He also could not change his appearance, or the overlookers in his team would report it.

Before leaving, however, Kyle got this bike as a present from Howard, so he was glad it could protect him in these situations.

Noticing a middle-aged man he was looking for, Kyle got off his bike and greeted the man, "Excuse me, but are you Mr. Robert Quill?

Hearing this young man greeting him respectfully, Robert told Kyle, "Yes, I am a young man. Is there anything you want?:

"My name is Kyle Connors. Professor, you are a man that taught my father; I would like to give my thanks. Also, congratulations on your daughter's birth and son's health. " Kyle smiled while showing respect.

"Incredible! You are the son of the feisty Jack Connors! What a surprise! Haha, you are just as respectful as your mother. It's nice to meet you. Would you want to eat lunch with my family?" Robert said while extending his hand to Kyle.

"Um." Kyle pretended to cough while looking away.

Robert saw his expression and immediately noticed what was wrong, "My apologies, that was abrupt to ask. It's okay if you don't feel comfortable."

"No, no. It's not that. Would it be alright? I don't want to disturb the family dynamic or be rude." Kyle told Robert while explaining his reasoning.

The man smiled and told Kyle with a thumbs-up, "Haha, no worries, Kyle. Our family loves meeting new people."

Four days later, at the Quill family kitchen table.

Kyle was eating a porkchop while everyone was feeling jolly. During these moments, Kyle waved his hand to gather the family's attention, "Everyone, I must leave soon."

Hearing Kyle, Robert's wife, asked, "Is there something or someone bothering you? If so, please ask, and we can help."

"No, Mrs. Quill, it's not that, but the army gave me an important mission, which will take a few years. How about this? We can eat together when Meredith and her brother have grown a bit when I return." Kyle responded with a tone of sadness.

Kyle has already created a deep impression on the family in just a few days. Robert and his wife now think of Kyle as a younger cousin. It wasn't just that the Quill family was friendly, but Kyle had a very respectful and good-natured attitude.

Robert smiled and said, "You are welcome anytime to this house. They might even call you uncle when the kids have grown a bit. Isn't that funny?

When his words fell on the dinner table, everyone nodded their heads in agreement, which made Kyle feel relief and gratitude.

It all happened so suddenly the youth managed to become almost integrated into the family dynamic as a close friend.

When everyone at the table looked over at Kyle, they could only see the occasionally cold-faced youth with a warm personality. Even Kyle was starting to sense familiarity with the kids and parents.

"Kyle, make the US military proud! I toast to Kyle's success!" Robert proposed a toast to his wife in the room as they took a drink from their cups.

Little did Robert Quill know that not only would Kyle return triumphant but that he would also become one of the tremendous pride of the military.
