"Bam!!Bam!!!" Within a boxing arena, a tall and handsome man was hitting a punching bag with massive force. Each punch sent ripples through the whole thing, as loud punching sounds echoed through the arena.
The man was dressed in a simple white shirt, and brown pants, and his fists were taped. After a while, memories began to flood his mind as the force behind each punch increased subconsciously.
Memories of a previous life, where he was a hero, an iconic figure to his people, but a terrifying weapon of war to his enemies. Beads of sweat began to roll down his face, as emotions began to manifest through his expressions.
"Bam!" Finally with a huge punch, the punching bag was unable to take anymore, as it broke and was sent flying a couple of meters.
Taking a deep breath, he walked a couple of meters back and picked up another punching bag among many, before hanging it up and continuing his assault.
" Trouble sleeping?" Suddenly, a voice sounded out, before the Director of SHIELD himself, Nick Fury, dressed in a black shirt, pants and a long military style overcoat, with his eyepatch appeared by the door.
"Slept for seventy years Sir, I think I've had my fill." The handsome blonde man spoke with grunts as he kept on hitting the punching bag.
"Then you should yell, celebrate for coming back to the world of the living." Fury walked in with both hands at his back as he said.
"When I went under, the world was at war, when I woke up, the say we won....didn't say what we lost." The man stopped hitting the punching bag as he untaped his fists and sat on a bench nearby.
" We've made some mistakes along the way, some very recently." Fury sighed as he took out a file from his clothes.
" You came here with a mission Sir?" The man continued to intake his fists, as he said.
" I am." Fury replied. " Trying to get me back in the world?" The man asked. " Trying to save it." Fury replied, as he handed him the file.
"Hydra's secret weapon?" The blonde man said with a frown.
"Howard Stark fished that out of the ocean when he was looking for you...he thought what we think, that the Tesseract could be the key to unlimited sustainable energy. That's something the world sorely needs." Fury said as he stood. His cunning and calculative eye looked at the man as he spoke.
"Who took it from you?" The man asked. "His name is Duke, but he goes by Azazel, a criminal mastermind with unusual powers. " Fury said as he placed both of his hands in the pocket of his trench coat.
"There's a lot we'll have to bring you up to speed on if you're in..the world has gotten even stranger than you already know." Fury took back the file and said.
"At this point, I doubt anything would even surprise me." The man stood up, picked up one of the punching bags, as well as his own personal bag and began to walk away.
"There's a debriefing packer waiting for you at your apartment....is there anything you can tell us about the Tesseract?" Fury watched his back as he chuckled.
"You should've left it in the ocean." He replied as he left without looking back.
.....
Within a small training room, a familiar figure, Duke stood bare chested, wearing only long dark pants, with his eyes completely shut.
Before him stood several humanoid robotic figures, about the height of an average human. With a loud beep, the robots suddenly rushed towards him, at fast speeds, as they smashed their robotic arms towards him.
Taking a deep breath, Duke opened his eyes, which was covered in streaks of lightning as he moved.
He had created this form of training in order to assimilate himself with his speed. Knowing how to attack, dodge and defend, while moving at the speeds he could, was one of the things he needed to master.
His body moved in a burst of lightning streaks as he appeared in front of the first robot almost instantly, like a lightning bolt.
"Bam!" He immediately spun around and executed a tornado spin kick accompanied by immense an momentum and gravitational force. The robot was instantly blasted apart, as a massive wave spent forth, sending the other robots flying back.
"Shiing! Bang! Bang!" The arm of the second robot immediately morphed into a long blade, as it slashed towards Duke, however in a split second, Duke appeared before it and dodged it and dodged the slash with near godly reflexes as he unleashed a barrage of fierce punches unto the robot's body at lightning speeds, which caused it to explode.
Turning around suddenly, Duke saw the last robot rushing towards him as he got into a stance. ' Let's see if this would work.' He smiled, as he stretched his legs apart before bringing both of his palms to his side.
The next instant, fiery parks began to emerge all around him, as lightning began to gather in between his palms.
"Boom!!" A few meters from his position, the robot leapt into the air, as it smashed its arm towards Duke.
With a small smile, Duke thrust his right palm forward, a large beam of yellow lightning blasted towards the the robot.
Its body instantly exploded, along with half of the training room.
" Samantha, why are the robots so weak?" He asked as he wiped his face with a towel and took a seat. He then grabbed a bottle of water by his side and downed everything.
"They were based on the prototype you have to me Sir." The AI said. "Fine, I'll give them a little tweak sometime." He smiled. "Uhh Samantha, call Fisk, T&P." He said as he walked to his room and sat on behind the computer.
"Right away Sir." The AI replied, as he reclined on his seat and waited.
"Azazel, my friend." Behind the screen, a huge bald man in a white three piece suit sat behind a desk with a small smile, as he fiddled with a pen in his hand.
"SHIELD's unto me Fisk." Duke went straight to the point. " I had an run in with the Black Widow a while ago today, and now they've put me on code red." He added, as the expression on Kingpin's face changed rapidly.
He was a notorious crime Lord in Hell's Kitchen, yet even he dared not go against Nick Fury.
"Are you okay...Duke?" Kingpin asked, as Duke rolled his eyes in his chair.
"You know, your old man was a very good friend of mine. He told me a lot about you Duke. If you need any help, don't hesitate to call me." Kingpin said as he expressed slight melancholy.
"SHEILD is aware of the mission, Fisk. All their best agents are going to be assigned to stop us. I'm sure Tony Stark should be aware of this by now, are you sure you want to go forward with this mission?" Duke ignored his words from earlier and continued speaking.
"Sigh. If you're okay with it we can still proceed. My best men will be on this mission as well." Kingpin said.
"Are you sure? You want to risk offending Nick Fury just for a single item. It must definitely be important to you." Duke said with a scowl. " I'm sorry, but I can't tell you what it is." Fisk shook his head.
"Of course I still want you on this mission, because without you, it won't be possible." He added.
"You're crazy Fisk. I like that. You know what, I'm going to lead your men in person and accomplish the mission. You don't need to tell me what it is you're going to take from Stark, I don't care." Duke smiled as he twirled in the chair.
" That's good news. I'll inform my men." Kingpin said, excitement written all over his face. "I'll be ready by tomorrow." Duke said and ended the call.
