[Alex Walker POV]

[3 HOURS UNTIL KNULL.]

Today was the day.

In only three hours, Knull would be released into the universe, ready to erase all in creation, to usher forth a new era of nothingness. The past few days, I had been training non-stop.

Both my body and mind, to be ready for him.

Learning all about him. All that I could.

I was ready, or as ready as I would ever be.

I had leveled up a lot, I had gained and mastered skills just for him, and had acquired the best possible loot I could right now, as well as crafting a set of armor to go over my own armor, to bypass the equipment limit.

I was, as I had said before, as ready as I would ever be.

In three hours there was little I could do, I would not level up anymore. Or get anything that would somehow tide the odds to my side, now all there was left to do was wait, and prepare.

I had Ultron and Jarvis ready, my troops, waiting in some key points to avoid the symbiotes expanding too much.

I was completely aware I would not be able to fully stop Knull's forces from expanding across the universe in the search for a host, as it was impossible to do so. But, it was entirely possible to lessen their impact and growth, by positioning our armies in strategically selected locations, avoiding the symbiotes from reaching any planets with strong life in them.

If my forecasting calculations, alongside those of Jarvis and Ultron, were to be trusted, by protecting those key points, we would be slowing Knull's army, and his growth by a 68.129%.

In turn, increasing our chances against him.

That was, of course, only if his first course of action was to send all of his troops out into the cosmos. Which I wasn't entirely sure he would, so from a tactical point of view, it was best to act as if he was going to do it anyway.

It wasn't like I didn't have ways to move my armies to any given position at any given time.

I had thousands of golems who were able to open portals to anywhere in the universe in a matter of seconds. Moving my armies should ever be needed, would be a breeze.

I was ready.

Now, all I had to do was find a way to kill someone that isn't even alive, to begin with. As negating such a thing was still well out of my reach, at least right out of the bat.

The thing with negating tangible concepts, such as life, death, or similar. Was that there two ways to do so, one negating the personal connection of your selected target to the concept itself, or negate the entire concept itself.

Negating the connection of one target, simply required you to be stronger than the target you were trying to negate to do so. While negating the concept itself, required you to be stronger than whoever held the realm of said concept.

Like, for example.

If I wanted to negate death, the entire concept of it. I would need to be stronger than Death itself.

The same applied if I wanted to negate the entire concept and or existence of darkness, in which case, I would need to be stronger than Oblivion to do so. Funny enough, if I wanted to negate amortality as a whole, I would also need to be stronger than Oblivion.

Negating the existence of concepts that held real value in the order of things was hard, as they entered the realm of control of other beings, making the process a bit more complicated. Leaving me in a bit of a situation.

The way I saw it.

Killing Knull would only be possible if I was stronger than him, and weakened him enough to negate his connection to his amortal state. Two, if I erased him from existence altogether, which also required me to weaken him for that to work.

Or, last but not least, if I somehow found a way to induce life into him, making him a mortal, therefore making him like everyone else in this universe a subject of Death.

I was entertaining that last life-inducing idea as a possibility. I had, after all, something from the first hero, the Lifebringer One, who at one point held the realm of life.

So perhaps there was something to do there with that.

I was, however, inclining more towards erasing him altogether, as it was simpler than turning him into a mortal, and other options. I only required to win, weakening him enough, to then erase him.

"Well, time to see how the girls are doing," I muttered, pushing those thoughts aside for now.

[Thor POV]

[1 DAY EARLIER.]

I had pushed my body to the breaking limit and beyond. Redefining the boundaries of what's possible, and what was not. Reaching levels of power, far beyond what I thought possible.

I was, however, falling short. I was still not one with my power, with my heritage, a part of me was fighting, or perhaps it would best to say, a part of me was conflicting with what I wanted to accomplish.

What part? Not sure.

I wasn't sure what I had to see or understand, both as a man and as a God. Perhaps it was that duality within myself that stopped me from reaching what I wanted to, unable to decide between both.

I wasn't sure, really.

But, of what I was sure of was that no matter what, I would protect my family, my people, and all others from those who sought to bring upon them any harm.

My powers would cooperate, or I would force them to. There was no other choice, no other path, no other alternative to it.

"I will not rest, I will not stop, I will not relent, until I can fight by his side! I am Thor, and I will succeed!" I panted, struggling to remain on my feet, as blood dripped from my body to the ground as if I had bathed in a tub of blood, every inch of my body, drenched in blood.

[Odin Borson POV]

[1 DAY EARLIER.]

Hela had convinced Thor to give my weapon to Sif.

I was angry at the time, Gungnir had been with me for a long time. But, right now it was not the time to focus on that, Sif would use my spear well, she would do Gungnir honors.

Be that as it may, I still found myself lacking a weapon. And so was Thor.

I needed a weapon if I was to lead and fight to the best of my capabilities, and so did Thor.

Which is why I had commissioned two weapons with Eitri.

Who upon my request, happily started working on them.

Stormbreaker for Thor, and Last Whisper for me.

I had made many mistakes in my life, many errors I would never be able to fix, Hela, Loki, Thor… and much more, I had hurt many during my long life, the least I could do was protect them, as a King of the old, it's my duty to protect those who are paving the path to the future.

And if needed, I would die for that cause.
