Chapter Hundred (100)

Looking at the small smug smile that had formed on Fury's face, I immediately began to imagine his face when he finds out that not only was the Winter Soldier captured but the Red Skull, the mastermind behind the majority of Hydra's actions, was dead. I didn't need to know this guy to know that he was like James who liked to have the higher ground in everything. People like them tend to either naturally possess the higher ground or they find it. From Fury's smile, it was easy to guess that he was happy to hold the higher ground but unfortunately, he came to the wrong place.

"I see… Thank you for that, I'm guessing that you guys have no idea when he will strike right?"

Eh? Why is he pretending not to know about it? We literally have the Winter Soldier in captivity and undergoing treatment for his broken mind.

"Yes, we simply came to inform you of this simple development since according to his past records, he takes quite a bit of time"

"Then thank you for your efforts, Director… we will ensure to double if not triple the security around them but just in case, I want you to have this" James said as he turned to me with his hand stretched out so I immediately handed him the file

"What is this?" Fury asked in confusion as he collected the file from James

"It's a surprise but advice though… when you attack, it would be better if you do so at once after all their motto isn't for show" James said with a smile as he gently slapped Fury's shoulder

"How did you get this"

"You do realize that I own A.I.M right and i am pretty sure you will get more info about Hydra from their bases when you attack them, those people have a habit of leaving detailed maps of their bases in every base they create"

"We will see what we can do" Fury said with a professional smile plastered on his face. It was obvious that he was suspecting Elysium as being funded by Hydra and looking at James, it was obvious that he didn't plan to dispel the man's suspicion anytime soon

"Don't worry, I'm sure you would do these bases justice, after all getting information like this isn't exactly cheap"

"We will get back to you after the information here has been confirmed" Fury said as he stood up from the chair he was sitting on.

"Well then we would be expecting good news from you then but for the information you have given us, I will ensure that it never takes place" James declared

"We shall see then" Fury said as he and the lady beside him bowed and they left the room, guided by a guard at the door to the helipad.

After making sure that they two had truly left, I immediately turned to James. Amongst everything that had happened today, the only thing I found confusing was why James would pretend as though we didn't know about the winter soldier… well I don't think that lie would even work at all considering that James later on stupidly handed him information that should only be held or found in high level Hydra camps.

"Why did you do that"

"Do what?"

"Why would you pretend not to know Hydra's plans and then proceed to hand over that sort of information"

"It's simple, the existence of the Spartans isn't supposed to be made public as of yet, we can't exactly pretend that the Winter Soldier of all people was captured by normal soldiers. Shield can think whatever they want about the information but i think Fury is smart enough to correlate the info to former Hydra science base, AIM" James explained in a completely nonchalant manner, this fool even dared to shrug

"Well, what if they aren't smart enough to figure it out"

"Then that's their problem after all I plan to eradicate Shield once Project Carpe Mundum is done. For now, they can feel happy about uprooting Hydra" James said with a shrug

*Sighs* "You know you are one scary guy for a 19-year-old" I replied with a smile

"I know, it's human nature" James replied as he stood up and made his way to the office.
