Chapter Eighty(80)

The Squad car in front of them suddenly exploded resulting in most of its occupants dying. Seeing this, the two soldiers at the front immediately bent down to hide from whoever was shooting and the soldier at the back grabbed Tony and shoved his head down to ensure his safety.

"Get down!" The man shouted as he too also bent down and waited until he no longer heard any shooting of any kind.

"On my count, you leave through there" the woman said pointing towards the passenger's side as the shooting seemed to be coming from her side

"Wait for it... wait…. Go!!" She said and the man in passenger seat immediately cracked open his door and jumped down while staying as low as he could, following after him, the woman did the same

The soldier guarding Tony, also got him to do the same but unlike the others, he made sure to stay beside Tony and that he stayed down as the others checked out the assailants. Seeing no one around, the man set his gun on the hood of the car aiming directly at the direction where the gunshots were coming from. As soon as he raised his head above the hood of the car, several gunshots were heard and the man fell back with several holes in his head and body.

"Oh my god" Tony said as he saw the man fall, he already knew this was not going his way at all.

"Go hide there" the woman said to him while pointing towards a big rock that was covered by their now-bullet filled car

"Thanks" Tony said and obeyed knowing that the best way to survive is by obeying the professionals here.

Cautiously finding his way behind the rock, Tony lay in wait as he grabbed his phone in a hurry to see if he could contact anyone but as soon as he did so, He heard several gunshots and soon nothing. In a situation like this, this was an ominous sign and immediately fear and despair started creeping its way into his mind as he prayed to any and every god out there to save him but all was for naught as a torpedo missile landed just a few meters beside him

"Oh god!" Tony shouted in horror as he looked at the missile only to find the logo and name of his company branded proudly on the missile

Seeing this, he immediately stood up to run towards it knowing that running away was not an option as it would only result in his death but this way, the vest he wore underneath would be able to catch most of the shrapnels coming from the missile when it explodes and sure enough, it did, flinging him several meters away.

"Urgh!!" Tony groaned in pain as cloth was slowly being dyed red by his blood and soon he fell unconscious.

Meanwhile somewhere else in the world, a certain individual could be seen boarding a small boat while three other people could be seen helping him fill the boat up with supplies.

"Bruce!" One of the people helping him load the supplies called out

"Yes!" The man answered turning his attention to the person

"Do you really think this would work, you can get the train from here easily, you could get lost at sea, or even die from hunger…. You could get attacked or eaten… what if…" she said as she started rambling on and on

"Betty, you and I know why I can't use the regular station and don't worry, if anything happens, we both know the other guy wouldn't let me die" Bruce said as he climbed out of the boat to calm her down

"I know but what if…"

"There are no ifs Betty, Bruce is right, the station may be easy to use but who is to say if the people there don't get him excited, at a sea station, he wouldn't have any such problems" the other person said

"Thanks Rick, I owe you one" Bruce said as he stood up and slapped his shoulder

"Bro, you saved my life, this is nothing, just make sure you don't drink of any sea water, you hear me" Rick said as he watched his friend return to the boat

"I see you both in Elysium!" Bruce shouted as he rowed away from the shores

"I swear Bruce, if I die out here, I'll make sure I kill you" Betty said as she watched him row away and Rick immediately chuckled

"I don't see how that is possible" Bruce shouted back in reply

"See you mate" Rick replied as he watched the small boat slowly disappear into the horizon.
