Chapter 5: The Inevitable Act

Dr. Alex came into view as Shiro spotted him talking to someone on his smartphone. Intrigued, Shiro hid himself to avoid being caught.

"With my enhanced hearing senses, I was now able to listen in on their conversation," Shiro thought, focusing intently on their exchange.

"Believe me this time, my experiment was successful! I created the perfect serum you've been looking for," Dr. Alex said, excitement evident in his demeanor.

"Oh, Dr. Alex, you've said the exact same thing before. But all you've shown me are mindless deteriorating subjects," the man on the phone responded, his voice deep and authoritative.

"But this time it's different," Dr. Alex chimed in, only to be interrupted by the mysterious man. "I've heard that too many times. I'm ending your connection with Hydra now. Have a nice day, Dr. Alex. Your payment will be delivered soon," the man said, ending the call.

"Damned you, Alexander Pierce!" Dr. Alex shouted, throwing his phone.

"So, the person he was talking to is Alexander Pierce. He is a ruthless master manipulator, showing no morality or remorse. He's one of the higher-ups in Hydra and an undercover agent in SHIELD," Shiro thought, recalling the character from the Marvel comics he had read.

Shiro walked towards the entrance of Dr. Alex's office and called out to him. "Hey, it seems like you had an earful from your boss. By the way, thank you. I feel like I've been reborn," Shiro said, intruding on the conversation.

"Shiro, you should be thankful to me. Also you've come at the right time. As payment for your powers, I want you to protect me from Hydra. Please!" Dr. Alex pleaded nervously.

"I see. Okay," Shiro responded, causing relief to wash over Dr. Alex. But suddenly, Shiro's expression turned hostile. "Too bad. You were once part of Hydra. I know what they're capable of. They're a dangerous organization that will do anything just to achieve their goals," Shiro said, slowly approaching Dr. Alex.

Dr. Alex, sensing the seriousness in Shiro's expression, instinctively backed away until he stumbled on his table. "Shiro, you can't do this. I am your creator, a god who gave you a chance to be reborn," Dr. Alex said, a mix of fear and madness in his eyes.

"You are neither a creator nor a god," Shiro replied with a cold voice, as red and black goo began forming on his right hand, eventually revealing a five-fingered claw. The sight sent shivers down Dr. Alex's spine.

"NOOOOO!" Dr. Alex shouted, but he was swiftly impaled through the heart, his life slowly fading away.

"Why didn't I feel anything when I killed him?" Shiro muttered. "Now might be a good time test my consumption ability and extract his memories," Shiro said as the red and black goo spread over Dr. Alex's lifeless body and it start being consumed by Shiro.

Suddenly, Shiro clutched his head as a torrent of memories flooded his mind. He heard multiple voices, pleading for mercy, begging for their lives. "No, don't kill me, please, I beg you," a little girl said. "No, don't kill my daughter, please spare her," a desperate mother pleaded. "Just calm down, this won't kill you," Dr. Alex laughed. "AAAAAAAAAGGHHH!" a young teen shouted, struggling in bed, only to be reprimanded by Dr. Alex. "SHUT UP! Don't move, I'm still experimenting you."

Finally, Shiro regained his footing. "What the hell? I thought I was going to be overwhelmed by these memories. I need to adapt to this, and I hope it won't take long until I got use to this," Shiro thought as he made his way on Dr. Alex chair to sit.

"Dr. Alex lied from the start. He's not just a mad scientist, but a psychopath," Shiro contemplated, reflecting on the memories he acquired. "He also lied to me about the teleportation. According to his memories, I was found unconscious in an empty alley, and he brought me here. But how did I end up there? I was simply driving to my friend's sister," Shiro said, filled with confusion.

"Well, there's no point in dwelling on all of this for now as Hydra was on their way onto this facility," Shiro added, walking towards the facility's main computer. Red and black goo began to envelop Dr. Alex's computer as it was invaded by the fleshy substance.

"Ciel, gather all valuable data you can get within an hour, and delete everything related to me and his experiment," Shiro ordered his A.I.

[Affirmative, working in progress...] Ciel replied as it start to absorb all the data from the main computer.
