Chapter 42: How Iron Man Solves Palladium Poisoning

(Vote Plz...)

[Fourth question begins.]

[How did Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, solve palladium poisoning?]

[A. Doctor Strange Stephen Strange intervened and used magic to heal him.]

[B. Extracted specific factors from the blood of Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, to synthesize an antidote.]

[C. With the help of Howard Stark, he discovered a new element as a substitute for palladium.]

[D. Discovered alternative sources of energy to replace the Arc Reactor.]

[Answer correctly to receive nanotechnology as a reward. Answer incorrectly and one year of your life will be deducted.]

"Nanotechnology!" Tony Stark immediately noticed the reward. Although he hadn't seen the videos of himself fighting alongside Black Dwarf or Thanos, his keen scientific intuition led him to consider the application of nanotechnology to the armor.

"I must answer this question correctly. With nanotechnology, the development of the armor will take a huge leap forward!" Tony Stark silently encouraged himself. He was truly envious of this nanotechnology.

"Palladium poisoning?" Phil Coulson immediately recognized the significant information implied in the question. "Stark, have you already been poisoned by palladium?"

He knew that Nick Fury had such a suspicion, and it was precisely because of this suspicion that Nick Fury decided to send Natasha Romanoff to infiltrate Tony Stark's circle.

"That's right, I've already been poisoned," Tony Stark had nothing to hide at this point.

"How severe is it?"

"Today, I tested it at the race track in Morocco, and the toxicity in my blood has reached 53%."

"Stark, how long do you plan to keep this a secret?" Phil Coulson didn't know the specifics of palladium poisoning, but the number 53% didn't bode well. It indicated that over half of Tony Stark's blood was toxic.

"That's right, Stark. You are crucial in the future battle in New York. Your well-being is no longer just your own concern, but all of ours," Clint Barton, although ignorant about this "palladium" matter, understood the seriousness of having toxic substances throughout one's blood. "You're so deeply poisoned, you shouldn't keep it from everyone."

"Easy, as you can see, the problem has already been solved, right?" Tony Stark pointed to the question.

"Palladium poisoning may have been solved, but in the future, if you encounter any other poison, incurable diseases, or injuries that require amputation, etc., remember to let us know so we can help you figure it out together."

"Thank you, Coulson."

"You're welcome."

"Although it feels like you're cursing me."

"I'm not."

"And with other poisons, incurable diseases, injuries requiring amputation, are you sure this isn't a curse on me?"

"Absolutely not," Phil Coulson said. "Let's analyze the question."

"Stark, after looking at these options, I can't help but ask a question," Clint Barton said. "Did your father, Howard Stark, really pass away?"

As soon as he spoke, Phil Coulson couldn't help but look at Tony Stark. Howard Stark, just like his son, Tony Stark, was a genius and one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. If he were still alive, it would undoubtedly be good news for S.H.I.E.L.D., especially considering the impending catastrophe facing humanity.

"When I found out that Steve Rogers and Arnim Zola from HYDRA might still be alive, I had hopes too." Faced with the gaze of the others, Tony Stark fell silent for a moment before speaking. "But that man who never said he loved me, he should really be gone."

"Why are you so certain?" Clint Barton asked. "We all thought Captain America was dead before."

"Firstly, I saw his body with my own eyes. I witnessed it firsthand," Tony Stark's voice didn't sound as calm as he looked. "Moreover, my father wasn't a mad scientist like Arnim Zola. He wouldn't dare to challenge the boundaries of life and death. Helping Abraham Erskine create Captain America was for winning the war. But if there truly was something that could make people live longer or come back from the dead, the whole world would be in chaos, and he wouldn't meddle in that area."

"Is it not possible that he secretly injected himself with the serum that Abraham Erskine created?" Clint Barton asked.

"I lived with him for so long. If he were a super soldier, would I not know?" Tony Stark countered. "And do you think if my father were truly a super soldier, there would only be Steve Rogers as the original superhero of America?"

"So it's impossible for your father to still be alive?" Phil Coulson said.

"My father, Howard Stark, that cold-hearted man, is truly at eternal rest," Tony Stark said.

"Well, it seems we can eliminate option C," Phil Coulson said. "A deceased person obviously cannot provide any help to Stark."

"This option A is also worth noting," Clint Barton added. "According to the information revealed in this option, Stephen Strange is likely a sorcerer."

"Doctor Strange, Doctor Strange, I always thought he was a scientific genius like Stark, but it turns out he's into magic," Phil Coulson also felt quite surprised.

"So all the Stranges I've come across can be ruled out. None of them know magic," Clint Barton said.

"Now the question is, can magic cure palladium poisoning?" Phil Coulson was puzzled by this question because he knew nothing about magic.

"Thor, do you understand magic?" Clint Barton's gaze turned to Thor, the God of Thunder. "Do you think magic can cure Stark's palladium poisoning?"

"You truly know nothing about magic," Thor chuckled upon hearing the question. "Magic can even resurrect the dead. Do you think it can't cure a bit of blood toxicity?"

"So option A is possible," Tony Stark pondered. "Now let's consider options B and D. I believe both of these options can be ruled out."

"We know why Bruce Banner became the Hulk, gamma radiation. If gamma radiation could solve Stark's palladium poisoning, then I think Stark himself would have discovered it without waiting for Bruce Banner," Phil Coulson said. "I think option B can be ruled out as well. But Stark, why not option D? With your talent, I believe it's entirely possible."
