Kar-el was a human once from a future 2050 where climate change was not resolved and due to it natural resources and land kept decreasing and time passed and humans became fighting each other while ignoring humanity. His luck stat is if calculated is really high because he got chosen to become representative of ×÷+-. He believes that the universe ×÷+- reincarnated him is the Dc universe but that's just because of his 1st and 2nd wish and he will get a surprise with the destruction of krypton.
