writer's block: I have noticed that even though im a new author, I have received a nice response from the readers of this community. that's why first of all thank you for your support even if the update rates are inconsistent.
I would be very happy if I get some constructive criticism about the flaws in my grammar in the comments from my readers as I know that my tenses are not up to the mark.
I have received advice from other authors in the community above on how can I make your reading experience better, and while I can't guarantee anything to you but I will be trying to improve my execution of storytelling and try to add more depth into the background and world-building.
thanks👋.
**** inside Jor-el house, third-person P.O.V.
kar-el and others were sitting around a table in the living room. kar-el was explaining his experience of space travel to his family. The most interested of them all was kara who came with her parents to Jor-El's house while kar-el was busy with the elders.
" did you encounter any space monsters in the journey?" kara asked while interrupting kar-el as he was telling her parents and her uncle about what kind of amazing properties nth metal possess. she had no interest in knowing about what this piece of material can do and don't after all she will not be receiving it in the future. she rather preferred to know if space monsters exist in real life because her best friend told her that they do.
kar-el smiled gently as he gave his attention to his overly excited niece which could be seen from how she can't help but twitch every once in a while with a desperate expression on her face that demanded answers so that her curiosity could be extinguished and told her, " while I didn't encounter any of the so-called monsters but I can tell you that there are indeed monsters roaming around in the space. You must be careful of them when you venture into the space one day."
kara widened her eyes and leaned forward as she asked, " do you think they exist too? My friend told me that they have big tentacles and they enjoy eating little boys. According to her, little boys are a delicacy for them." all the elders were surprised and happy when they saw kara interacting with kar-el even after she has not seen him for 5 years.
kar-el eyes twitched and his smile became a little unnatural as he continued interacting with kara," your friend has some pretty interesting imagination. I wonder where she gets these thoughts from? well, I don't know about tentacles but im pretty much sure that monsters don't have a particular interest in little boys. " after he told her that he leaned back a little and shook his head while smiling exhausted.
"don't put ideas on her head, kar-el. she already has a lot of illusion for space monsters." alura abolished kar-el as patted her daughter's head.
"Mom!!!!!, im not a kid anymore" kara whined while peeling off the hand from her head.
" oh yes, my darling. Now if you would tell me that you have already done your homework, I would be so much happier. if you haven't completed it yet then go and do it now. don't worry your uncle kar-el will not go anywhere until you are done." alura informed her daughter while pointing her to the room next door.
kara stormed out of the room while pouting to finish her homework. zor-el shook his head as he looked at his daughter's disappearing solitude while others just enjoyed from the sidelines the discussion between mother and daughter.
"I hate you, mom" kara yelled from the room next door to which her mother smirked and told her in a long tone," I already know, my darling."
Lara told alura after looking at kara's behavior," you have a strong bond with your child, alura. she has a very bubbly and strong personality like yourself, it must be tough dealing with her." as she put her hand on alura's hand as they both were sitting side by side.
" you have no idea." she signed exhausted as she looked at the room next door.
kar-el finally brought the discussion that he wanted to discuss talking to Jor-el, "how much time do we have? do you think of any solution?".
suddenly, the atmosphere became serious as he asked the question. Jor-el looked at zor-el and after he nodded hesitantly he turned to kar-el and told him," you were right that we can't save all of the krypton in such as short timeframe while betraying the council. I had thought a lot about what you told me before you left and after we discussed this among ourselves, we think that you were right in your approach. I have already checked if we all can escape at the time of destruction but sadly prime A.I. won't allow us. we can only able to create a timeframe for at most three small containers, which is why we have decided to send kara and my soon-to-be-born child with you."
kar-el put a hand on his chin as he pondered, ' elders had been pretty lenient with me for a while now, I could leave with their permission a few days before the time of discussion.'
"you don't have to worry about me, I can leave a few days before that time as elders are pretty lenient with me. you can reserve the third pod for someone else. I would be fine." kar-el suggested to the others while he observed their reactions but it looked like they had already thought a lot about it.
"kar-el", Lara gently smiled at kar-el as she told him," while you have a whole life in front of you, we have lived and experienced enough and would like to stay with our love in the last moments of our life. No one of us wants to live while rests die. we all believe that you will take care of our children as you are a kind soul. we hope that you will understand our decision."
A silence well in the room as kar-el looked at the floor. After a few minutes later, kar-el finally faced the others and asked solemnly with a heavy voice," okay then if that is your decision." he looked into Jor-el eyes and then into zor-el and then said," what about Kryptonian genesis codex?"
