"Yes."
Zod nodded but he also made a condition that they must help him deal with the Scorpion Gang.
The hitmen nodded, and then under their recommendation Zod became a new hitman of the Midnight Hotel.
The rules of the Midnight Hotel are remarkably similar to the Continental Hotel in a movie Zod had seen before he transmigrated.
You are not allowed to kill in the hotel otherwise you will be wanted worldwide with a bounty on your head. At the same time, the rewards for the missions are very lucrative, with two methods of payment.
One is to pay directly to an account. The four major currencies are the only ones available: USD, British pound, euro, and Chinese yuan. You can also ask for them to make an unregistered offshore account to use for payment.
The other payment is in gold coins with a skull symbol on them. One gold coin is equivalent to 10,000 USD, but there is no way to exchange gold coins for other currency. However, the hotel accepts other people exchanging between themselves for money.
Using the gold coins comes with a lot of benefits from the Midnight Hotel, such as preparing weapons, immigration issues, identity, target intelligence, dealing with the scene afterwards, and so on.
It's this kind of supernatural power displayed by the hotel that has attracted countless hitmen to join their ranks.
Kingpin's number one lackey Bullseye was also found by Kingpin from here and he was drawn into becoming a private bodyguard.
The five killers painfully forked over their gold coins, allowing Zod to obtain a legal identity.
He is a New York citizen now. As for the accent, there isn't one. Zod will simply learn it.
The missions for the Midnight Hotel are updated by giving each killer a black phone.
It's said that this black phone is years ahead of all of the mobile phone technologies on the market. It comes with anti-eavesdropping, anti-tracking and so on.
Zod looked at his black mobile phone. He discovered the mobile phone was actually made of a titanium alloy shell with black paint, and was waterproof, shockproof, and even fire-proof, but he doesn't know if it's also EMP-proof.
Then Zod focused on finding a task.
There is one offering a reward of four million dollars for the boss of the "Hellfire" gang in California. [TL: Sadly, it is not THAT hellfire gang for all you marvel fans.]
This mission has attracted many assassins, but the Hellfire gang is a first-class gang even in California, so all the assassins are looking for people to team up with even if it means their share is cut.
"Four million dollars…"
Zod "borrowed" a lot of weapons from the five assassins' arsenal, all of which were privately modified firearms. In the future, when he has gold coins, he will also ask the Midnight Hotel to customize some personal weapons for him. Now, he will just use these.
Zod crossed over the states and finally arrived at California.
The headquarters of the Hellfire gang is a community of villas that were bought by them. Of course, this kind of purchase was not very acceptable to the seller. Obviously, the seller changed their tune when they figured out who it was buying it.
Lawrence Peter, the boss of the Hellfire, is an old man over 50 years of age, but he has a well-maintained physique and looks in his prime.
He has a big sturdy frame but there is a huge crater on the left side of his cheek making him look hideous and terrifying.
This was caused by a sniper bullet that grazed by his cheek and was the moment that he felt closest to death. Although later that killer was shot so much he turned into a sieve.
Lawrence's intelligence network wasn't bad, he already knew that he had a bounty on his head from Midnight Hotel with a hefty reward.
After cursing "motherf*cker" secretly, Lawrence hurriedly hid in his heavily guarded villa. If it was an ordinary hitman, he might not care much.
But the Midnight Hotel has many perversely strong killers, such as Bullseye. Once Bullseye single-handedly killed a navy-seal team and became famous afterwards. Who knows if the four million reward will attract the same type of hitman.
The guards outside the villa community also knew that there was an assassin from the Midnight Hotel coming over and were nervous. Any small movement is enough for them to empty out their magazines and rip that person to shreds.
"Are you so afraid of death?"
Zod looked at the community calmly from outside. There were only twenty guards, fully armed. He looked at all of them and noticed each were wearing a bulletproof vest.
It may be tricky for others, but it's a pity that Zod is here tonight.
Two pistols appeared in his hand. For the time being, he didn't want to expose too many abilities, so he decided to show just his amazing marksmanship.
This ability is standard for ordinary superheroes of the Marvel World. For example, the Punisher, Bullseye, and Hawkeye can do it.
"Boom boom boom boom!"
Four consecutive gunshots were fired while the last two were at the same time, and then the four guards posted at the door slumped down to the ground with bullet holes in their heads.
The personal modified guns of the assassins are all focused on penetration, and even the bullets are specially made. Zod didn't expect that the guns he brought were so powerful and he felt the accuracy was great.
Then the guards panicked and hid behind cover.
Zod rushed into the gate of the community at a speed normal people wouldn't think would be ridiculous and vaulted over the wall. The triggers on the pistols were pulled while he did an Olympic-level flip over the wall.
"Boom boom boom boom boom!"
As he landed the flip, the remaining guards fell over without a chance to resist
The villa with the boss, Lawrence, was already alarmed by the gunfire.
Zod reloaded and then rushed in.
His reflex nerves are faster than others and he can react inhumanly quick when a gun is pointed at him, but he still kept himself at a distance. Urban warfare is a lot more dangerous than straight up shootouts.
"He's on the second floor!"
"He solved all the people on the first floor!"
"What a joke, it's only been three minutes!"
The Hellfire Gang probably never expected that someone would come in so openly, even Bullseye wouldn't dare to be this arrogant.
After Zod used up all of his ammunition he picked up the enemy's gun and continued shooting headshot after headshot with bodies dropping regardless of whether you had body armor or not.
Then Hellfire sent men wearing bulletproof helmets.
"Really? That's too much."
Zod complained about the law and order in California. It's illegal to sell bulletproof vests, let alone bulletproof helmets! [TL: must…not…rant…]
But even wearing a bulletproof helmet cannot stop Zod from making a headshot.
"Blow him up!"
Zod was so powerful that Lawrence was frightened and had to let his men use grenades.
As for RPG's, who would be idiotic enough to use an RPG indoors?
Just as Zod kicked the door open a lot of round objects flew over from afar.
He slammed the door shut as fast as lightning…then ran away.
And the pile of grenades hit the door then bounced back before exploding.
Hearing a bunch of screams and explosions inside, Zod walked back to the room and saw the door was blown to pieces.
People who were far away from the bomb wanted to get up, but the dizziness and sluggish body made them unable to get up. Zod simply walked past them putting a bullet in each of their heads.
Lawrence's face became paler and paler. What kind of monster had he attracted this time? All of the men he prepared could not stop the opponent from advancing!
With x-ray vision, it is useless no matter where Lawrence tries to hide and Zod finds him soon.
But now Lawrence is behind a metal door nearly ten centimeters thick.
Chapter 1 of today. Must go eat lunch and get back at it again lol
