Chapter 15

The events occurred just like in my memories. Erik was confronted about his real identity and Erik wanted to turn himself in. His daughter started to become more agitated and the animals around started to circle around her and some birds attacked the men. Just before one of the men was about to release the arrow, I froze everyone in place. I modified Erik's memory and made it look like his wife and daughter were killed. I stepped back and saw how Erik killed the men with the necklace that he gave to his daughter. Erik's wife and daughter were fine, they were just forced asleep. I modified Erik's brain to reveal the truth when I spoke his full name to him. Even if he had his helmet or someone else like Charles was controlling him, he would break free and remember that his wife and daughter were alive. I continued to watch as he made his way to the factory.

I knew En Sabah Nur would appear to get him and then travel to get Charles. I needed to teleport to where his mansion. Luckily, I knew exactly where the underground facilities he had since I had already been there before. I activated my armor and entered stealth mode. I pictured the area in my head and teleported there. A faint blue energy bobble surrounded me and later it dispersed. I looked around and saw the jet Hank made. I looked around before deactivating the stealth systems. I saw the open engine core that Hank designed. I looked at it and shook my head. It had obvious flaws. No wonder it blew up the way it did when it got hit by the energy blast. I positioned myself in front of it so I could absorb the energy blast. I thought about just moving the jet or covering but I wanted to see if I could absorb that power.

I felt a sudden disturbance in the energy around me and knew that En Sabah Nur had teleported here. I prepared myself for the blast and waited. I heard some commotion and waited some more. I continued to wait until I heard a yell and the sound of a blast. I knew something was wrong. I opened the door to see Erik using the metal panels to wrap Charles and bring him closer to En Sabah Nur. Beast and Havok were groaning on the floor with Angel and Psylocke standing over them. En Sabah Nur turned to me when I opened the door. I gulped when he locked eyes with me. Whatever I was feeling made my senses scream for me to run away.

"And who might you be?" En Sabah Nur said. Psylocke and Angel turned to look at me. Psylocke looked the same as I remember but her legs were covered in her new suit and had a small cape on. Angel had the same suit he had in my memories and his wings were made from metal now. Their eyes seemed devoid of all life. I gulped again. This wasn't how it was supposed to go down. I focused back to En Sabah Nur. I was still frozen, and I couldn't think of anything to say to him. He hummed and looked at me with a smile.

"Get her as well," He said, and Erik turned to me. I could see his eyes were also the same. Erik looked at me and the metal panels were torn off and coming to wrap themselves on me. I lifted my hands to stop them. Erik had put a lot of strength on those metals. The boost he got from En Sabah Nur is crazy. I pushed more power to stop them.

"Impressive," En Sabah Nur said. He motioned to Erik and he stopped pushing the metal panels towards me. Feeling no force, I let go as well.

I charged at him and attempted to punch him. He stopped it easily and punched me in the stomach. I couldn't react fast enough to channel my energy to absorb the punch. Even with the suit on, the force of his punch dented the suit. He was still holding on to me and punched my face. The force of the punch threw me to the floor. He kneed my stomach and proceeded to punch my face. My helmet starts to deform from all the dents he was creating. The nanites were trying to repair themselves but I never anticipated this much damage to take place so quickly. He grabbed my neck and lifted me up.

"Weak," He whispered and threw me to the wall. I struggled to get up, but I managed to do it. I looked at him and saw that he had Charles and Raven. He created a portal and they all disappeared. I was breathing heavily as I got up. This wasn't in my memories. This En Sabah Nur is different. It seems like he could control his followers besides just enhancing them. His strength was also crazy.

"Who are you?" Hank said as he tried to get up.

"Where's Raven?" Hank said again as he turned his head around. I controlled my breathing and looked at him.

"Taken. The same for Charles." I said and coughed to clear my throat out of the blood.

"Alex!" I heard a voice call out. I saw Scott, Jean, Kurt, and Jubilee come rushing to help Hank and Alex.

"What happened?" Scott asked Alex.

"Some guy teleported here and took Raven and the Professor," Alex explained. I could tell Jane was reading his memories to see what happened. She looked at me and tried to read my mind as well, but I was still wearing my suit that was slowly repairing itself.

"His name is En Sabah Nur. We need to get to Egypt. That's where they'll be," I explained.

"And who are you?" Another voice caught my attention. When I looked, I saw that it was Moira. I had completely overlooked her.

"A friend of Charles," I said as I straighten myself up. I was a bit absent minded. I was replaying what happened. I was completely destroyed by En Sabah Nur. That was a wake-up call. I only ever fought against normal humans and against my brothers but that wasn't real combat. Fighting against another mutant was different especially someone like En Sabah Nur.

'Astrid, get a hold of James and Victor. Tell them to meet me in Egypt. Launch the Sentinel MKII as well," I said to Astrid.

'I'll notify them, but the Sentinel is not ready for combat yet,' Astrid explained.

'I know, but we need all the help we can get' I said.

'Open the hangar doors please' I asked Astrid.

'Right away' Astrid responded. The hangar opened above me.

"Get your people there," I said. I activated my thrusters and launched upwards.

I could see helicopters coming to the school. I entered all their minds and made them turn around. They would report that Charles is captive and held at Egypt. I entered super sonic and made my way to their location. I was racking my brain. I needed a game plan. If I hope to stand a chance against him, I would have to go all out. Attack him from all fronts if possible. I can help Charles in the mental game and help with physical attacks as much as I can. I would have to attack from a distance. Getting close would only result in the same outcome. I really hoped that if I spoke Erik's name it'll snap him out of whatever control he was on. If it didn't work, then it would make this a whole lot harder. The other problem now was the Raven would probably become a horseman. If I remember correctly, she would gain the ability to change into animals as well now and heal quickly. I hope that isn't the case, but I would have to prepare for that. I asked Astrid to update James and Victor on the enemies. Astrid told me that the Sentinel had been launched and was heading there as well. Even without the adaptive abilities, it was still a force to be reckon with.

I felt an intrusion in my mind and knew that En Sabah Nur was making his grand speech. I landed near their location. I saw James and Victor land besides me.

"Lydia, What the hell is going on?" Victor asked.

"Not enough time to explain. We need to beat them and kill that guy," I said as I pointed to En Sabah Nur. As I spoke that Erik started to do his magnetic thing with the Earth. The ground shook as he started to manipulate the magnetic lines.

"James, help them out with the chick with the energy sword. Victor, you take on the shapeshifting one. Try to not kill them. I'll try to wake Erik up and then fight the big guy," I said.

"What about the people?" James asked concerned.

"We don't have time to evacuate them. I'll send help once this is over," I said.

"So, they are just going to fen for themselves?" James asked angrily.

"James, I-" I said before the arrival of the X-Men jet interrupted me. Jean, Kurt, Alex, Scott, Hank, and Moira all came out. We made eye contact with the group and looked towards where En Sabah Nur was on top of the mountain. We had arrived early, so he had not created the giant pyramid he makes for the ritual. I suddenly felt the matter around me shift.

"Shit, attack now!" I screamed. En Sabah Nur had started to gather the matter around to create his pyramid.

'We have to stop him from creating the building. If he completes it, he can take control of Charles!' I mentally said to everyone. They all began to charge as the buildings around us crumpled and fell apart.

'I'll take care of Erik!' I said to everyone. I flew upwards to his location and landed on a magnetic platform.

"Erik Lehnsherr!" I said loudly. Erik blinked a couple of times and looked at me. I smiled at him and he smiled back at me.

"Thank god it worked," I said.

"You weren't even sure this would work?" Erik said with an eyebrow raised.

"I was 80% sure it would. Come on, we need to stop him" I said to him. I flew towards his location and Erik made his way there. I entered super sonic speed and hurled myself at him. I planted my feet to his chest and landed on the ground. When I looked up, he had moved a few feet from his position. This is definitely not the same guy as in my memories. I could hear the building falling since I had interrupted him. I deactivated my suit and stood a stance to fight him.

"You again? Did you not learn? You are nothing before me!" En Sabah Nur exclaimed. He levitated upwards and looked down.

I dumped a lot of energy into my hands and launched a wave of energy towards him. My hands were bright blue and the wave of energy was similar. When it reached him, the energy wave hit his force field and was completely stopped. I grinned my teeth.

"Pathetic," He said. He launched his own energy wave except his wasn't visible, but I could feel the force coming towards me. I created a force field and braced myself. When the energy hit, I felt a huge force pushing me back. I dug my feet dig and continued to maintain the force field. When the pushing force stopped, I saw I had been moved several feet backwards. I couldn't even do that to him in the air.

I took a deep breath and decided to wait for his next attack. He lifted his hands up and I didn't feel anything. I channeled my energy into my aura and waited. The rocks around me started to rise and large chucks of rocks were hurled at me. I stayed in the same spot and let the rocks hit me. I was completely engulfed by the rocks. The energy the rocks had however increase the energy I had. It was a good recharge, but I had to take advantage with how much kinetic energy I have stored thanks to him. I visualized his location and teleported above him. He wasn't expecting me to do that as I was close enough to punch him. He simply smiled as he knew I wasn't physically strong.

"Eat this!" I yelled. I threw a right punch at his face and released all the kinetic energy I had. A loud boom was created, and he was hurled to the ground creating a large crater. I used levitation to slow myself down and landed on the outer edge of the cater. I knelt and tried to control my breathing. I stopped breathing when I heard clapping.

"Impressive, perhaps you can be added as well," He said. When the dust cleared all, he had was a small trickle of blood on the corner of his mouth. Not even his armor was damaged. I knew he could heal like my brothers and I but that's insane. All the energy and that's all I did?

"I rather not," I said as I staggered to get up. He hummed in response. I felted a force trying to invade my head and I pushed back.

"Get out!" I yelled and used a large amount of my energy to push him out. He tilted his head slightly backwards probably by the force I used. I was breathing heavily now. I was running low on energy and he still looks the same.

"And you have mental abilities as well? Perhaps I should take your body instead?" He said smiling.

"Fuck you," I said in response. He didn't like that I guess as he frown and started walking towards me. I braced myself and took a stance. I hurled a pulse of energy at him to which he just blocked with his force field.

"You can never hope to match the power of a god!" He yelled and levitated.

The ground began to shake, and multiple rocks came at me again. Before I could do anything, I left something grip my feet and pulled me into the ground. I felt the ground pushing against me as it began to crush me. I channeled my energy to absorb the kinetic energy. Luckily for me, He was using a lot of force to crush me. Once I had enough, I touched the ground and it released the kinetic energy. It all got destroyed and chucks were flying everywhere. I was left standing in a large cater kneeling. I was starting to get lightheaded. I've never had to go this far.

"Interesting, however you are at your limit. Now you know what its like to fight a God," He said as he descended down.

"You're no God. You're just an arrogant asshole who thinks he is," I said as I took a deep breath to prepare myself. I have to be on the defensive now. I have to recharge my energy with my absorption ability.

"Child, you do not know. I shall show you," He said and sent a wave of energy at me. I braced and channeled my remaining energy to my aura. When the wave hit me, I didn't move back this time. I moved the kinetic energy and mixed it with my own. It was a good recharge, but I was still low.

"Is that the best you can do?" I taunted him. I braced again. He squinted at me but before he could do anything a large metal pillar struck in front of him. I saw Erik joining the battle with an insane amount of metal behind him. I took this moment to look at the other fights. I was looking quickly and saw Victor and Raven fighting. Raven now can shapeshift into animals that's great. I couldn't spot James in the chaos, but I saw Kurt getting closer to Charles. Charles was staggering to his feet to get away from En Sabah Nur. I saw Psylocke and Angel fighting with the other X-men. They were outnumbered and were quickly being pushed back. I turned to En Sabah Nur and saw his force field on as Erik was throwing a constant flow of metals are him. I took this chance to connect with Charles.

'Charles! You are still linked with him. Fight him in your mind. Ask Jane to help you' I mentally communicated to Charles. I turned to Jean and connected with her.

'Jean! Help Charles! Don't afraid of your power. Let it go!' I said to her.

I channeled all my energy to make a constant flow of wave hit En Sabah Nur. When it hit his force field, he looked at me and widen his eyes. I knew that Charles more than likely brought him into his mind to fight. I fell to one knee but continued to pumping energy to hit his force field. To my right, I saw lightning hit him. I glanced and saw Storm hitting En Sabah Nur as well. I don't know what she's doing here but I welcomed her help. I couldn't continue with my attack anymore and felt my arms go limp. I struggled to maintain myself up on my knees to continue to watch. Jean came and went all Phoenix Force on him. He was reduced to ashes. I sighed in relief. At least that went according to my memories in a way. I slowly got up on my feet and looked around. It looks like everyone that he was controlling had snapped out of it. Raven was running towards the X-men while Angel and Psylocke made a run for it.

"You okay?" Erik said as he walked towards me. I waved at him gesturing I was okay.

"Your family is doing fine. I'll take you to them," I said. Victor and James made their way to me.

"Hey! You guys okay?" I asked seeing an angry look in James' face.

"Look around Lydia!" James said angrily. He gestured around us and I looked around us. It was then that the sound of screaming and the scenes and smell of blood hit my senses. All around us was death. I could see people crushed under the buildings that fell. I was small arms and legs extending outside from a crumpled vehicle. The smell of death hit next. It almost made me gag.

"If you know things are going to happen then why let it occur!" James yelled. Victor had crossed his arms and said nothing.

"What makes you or us better than them?" James continued.

"You said you knew what you were doing! I trusted you! Look around! Is this changing things!" James yelled.

"Why aren't you doing something!" James asked.

"I am! I have been preparing! There is more to come!" I snapped at him.

"So, we are just supposed to let events like this happen!?" James countered.

"No, we are going to try to prevent them!" I screamed at him.

"Try? If you know who is involved, then why are we waiting until the last minute?" James asked.

"Because if we change too much then everything I know will be useless!" I responded.

"So, you're letting things occur like this just so you have knowledge? You're letting people die Lydia! Real people die! Its not some vision!" James screamed.

"I'm doing my best James! Its not as easy as you think!" I screamed back at him.

"Isn't though?" James whispered. I looked at him shocked.

"I can't be part of this Lydia. What makes us so special to let kids die?" James said. He turned and started to walk away. Victor looked at me and tapped his head. I was confused at first but investigated Victors mind. In there I saw the memory of when he was fighting Raven. He had looked to where James was and saw him trying to save some kids that were getting crushed by a building. The X-men fighting made it worse. They were amateurs still and weren't thinking about the people around them. One of Alex's blast hit a nearby building collapsing it on top of the kids. They were immediately crushed. The blood sprayed everywhere, and some got on James. James looked around and in the background the Sentinel was crashing buildings to attack Angel. I stopped the memory. I looked at the ground and then at Victor. Without saying anything he nodded and followed James. I had so many emotions rampaging, but I compartmentalized them. I didn't want to have a break down here. I took out my sling ring and created a portal back home.

"Your family is waiting, come on," I said to Erik with a fake smile. We stepped through and Erik reunited with his family.

I left them alone and ran to my lab. The emotions that were bottled up were bursting out. I cried, I damaged my equipment, I cried again. I leaned against the wall and hugged my knees. I was lost. Why was I doing this if I was letting people die? James was right. But now I know that the enemies will probably not be the same. I was thinking of the events and what to do when I heard clapping. I lifted my head to see Sir standing near one of my desks clapping.

"What an amazing fight!" Sir said. I didn't say or think anything. I just looked at him.

"Come on now. Don't be like that. I didn't do anything. This was all your fault you know. I did warn you multiple times" Sir said in a mocking tone.

"Shut up!" I snapped and my body flared in blue energy. He laughed loudly.

"Now now. Let's remember our manners," Sir said in s twisted smile. It disgusted me.

"What do you want?" I spoke angrily.

"It must be hard losing your brothers like that huh?" Sir said and began to move to the side of the desk while dragging his hand against it.

"I hope nothing bad happens to them" He spoke. That struck a chord and snapped it. I don't know where I got the extra energy, but I gathered all of it and pushed it out to him. It was all futile as everything just phased right through him as if he wasn't there. He just laughed more loudly.

"Just joking, sheesh" Sir spoke.

"Just…go away…" I said and leaned against the wall again. I slowly sat down as the sudden drain from that attack hit me.

"I just wanted to congratulate you on your first big win! Well done!" Sir spoke cheerfully. It wasn't a victory. So many innocent people died.

"Don't be like that. You know they would have died anyways. Why dwell on it?" Sir said. Because knowing what would happen, I could have prevented so many deaths.

"Are you certain they would even happen in the first place?" Sir said. To that, I raised my head and looked at him. So, these events might not even occur?

"Who knows?" Sir said as he shrugged.

"You do! You asshole," I yelled.

"Where's the fun in telling you? This is far more entertaining," Sir said and when I blinked, and he was gone. I turned and he was right next to me.

"You still think this is some story or movie. This is not some simulation. The people here are real," Sir said.

"W-Wha" I tried to say.

"You didn't bother to send your robots to help save the people in Egypt," Sir said smugly as he stepped back. I was in a state of shocked. He was right. The thought never even crossed my mind after the fight.

"If this continues, there won't be much to safe left" Sir said smiling. Sir faded and I was left alone.
