Chapter 41: Landing In N. Salem

After Jean pushed me onto the ground for no reason, I was reminded of Peter and Gwen, so I used the Blackbird's built-in phone, which was apparently encrypted from prying eyes; not like such a thing was necessary as I had no intention of speaking about what happened over any phone. During the talk, I could tell both of them were also affected by Lily's death; none of us except Jean may have been incredibly close to her, but because of Jean, we've befriended her, so it's not a surprise her death would be a hard pill to swallow.

Once I finished speaking with them, I got Jean to talk with them, as she was the person everyone was worried about since she was the most affected by Lily's death; however, from what I could tell, she was coping with it rather good, well, at least much better than I had anticipated. Jean had already spoken with Peter, and she was currently on the phone with Gwen; while she was doing that, I was standing outside Storm's room.

"Could you let me in, Ms. Munroe?" Asked Pharaoh, sounding much more respectful than usual as he looked through the door and eyed Storm, who was currently on the computer.

I didn't get a reply for quite a while, and when she did finally react, she merely pressed a button on her desk, which opened the sliding door before turning around in her swivel chair, folding her arms, and eying me.

"What seems to be the problem, Pharaoh?" Asked Storm with a frown and a tone of annoyance as she watched Pharaoh enter her room.

"Eh, nothing; I'd just like to apologize for what happened with Mom. I wasn't trying to make you seem like a creep or anything; I was just joking around; my Dad would've loved it." Replied Pharaoh awkwardly while rubbing his head and looking away, though his apology caused Storm's expression to soften considerably.

"Apology accepted, Pharaoh; you may be a mature child, but you're just a kid at the end of the day." Said Storm with a slight smile as she nodded and loosened her arms while glancing at Pharaoh, who chose to ignore her words.

"So, um, is the date in six years still on?" Asked Pharaoh with a slight smile while looking at Storm, whose expression instantly crumbled.

"You're one incessant kid, Pharaoh, I'll give you that." Muttered Storm with a twitching expression as she blandly stared at Pharaoh, who was fidgeting.

I was about to reply, but before I could, Storm raised her arm at me and opened her palm, causing me to suddenly be blasted with an intense gust of wind that flung me out of her room and into the wall behind me, denting it a little, though there wasn't much I could do about that. Landing on the ground, I watched the door slowly close while Storm looked at me with a slight smirk before turning around and returning to whatever she was doing before my arrival.

"Well, I like a woman with a feisty side to her, so that's only going to spur me on." Said Pharaoh with a smile from behind the door, causing Storm to shake her head and sigh while doing her best to ignore his words.

'That could've gone worse; relationships aren't all ups; there are also going to be some downs.' Thought Pharaoh as he nodded to himself before turning to his left, entering the living area once more, only to see Jean was still talking on the phone with Gwen.

"Heh, what, the two of you had a fight?" Remarked Wolverine with a slight smirk as he glanced at Pharaoh, who shook his head.

"I wish, as that would mean we were dating, right?" Replied Pharaoh as he approached the couch, sitting right beside Wolverine, who gave him a weird look.

"Speaking of dating Oldman, I'm sure you've got a thing or two you can teach me; why don't you tell me how to win a woman's heart? Or maybe after living for so long, your penis doesn't work anymore." Asked Pharaoh as he turned to his left, looking at Wolverine with a slight smirk while he huffed in annoyance.

"I've slept with more women than weeks you've been alive, Kid; I know a thing or two about women." Replied Wolverine with a proud smirk as he looked at Pharaoh, who raised an eyebrow skeptically.

"You know, weird as it sounds, I could definitely see it happening; I just have this feeling that most of the women you slept with, you did it without their consent." Remarked Pharaoh with a mischievous grin, causing Wolverine to growl in annoyance.

"You're an annoying Kid; I'm tempted to throw you out the window." Said Wolverine as he glared at Pharaoh, who merely chuckled in amusement.

"Go ahead; you and I both know nothing's going to happen to me unless we're over a body of water; I can't swim, you know, big-boned." Stated Pharaoh with a confident expression before outstretching his arm and slightly frowning.

"Heh, that's the same excuse your kind always makes." Commented Wolverine while smirking, earning him a glare from Pharaoh.

"You know, I would be offended by that, but that logic doesn't apply to me." Said Pharaoh lightly, though at the sound of Storm's door opening, he mischievously smirked.

Seeing Storm enter the living area, I quickly stood up, rushed toward her, and informed her of everything, causing her to glare at Wolverine angrily.

"Did you really just say that, Logan?" Asked Storm in slight anger; small bolts of lightning arched through her eyes as she approached Wolverine, who seemed utterly unbothered about the situation.

"Yeah, I said it." Replied Wolverine as he looked up at Storm, his words causing the air in the plane to flow aggressively.

"Ay yo! That nigga standing ten toes down, I gotta respect it." Commented Pharaoh from the side as he watched Wolverines and Storms stare down; his respect for Wolverine growing.

Not wanting to be caught up in the possible fight that might break out, as I was the one who instigated the whole thing, I ran past Jean and entered the cockpit before closing the door behind me.

"Now, this is going to be good." Muttered Pharaoh as he sat down in the co-pilot's seat and looked through the walls behind him, watching the fight on the verge of happening.

"Storm and Wolverine, no fighting on the plane; I do not want a repeat of what happened last year." Stated Beast seriously as he grabbed a radio, his voice resounding throughout the whole plane.

"Hmph." Said Storm with a huff as she reigned in her powers before sitting on a chair while Wolverine seemed utterly unbothered about the whole thing.

"Tch, why did you have to ruin it? That was probably going to be a fun fight." Remarked Pharaoh with a frown as he clicked his tongue in annoyance and glared at Beast, who wasn't even flying the plane since it was on auto-pilot.

"First off, if Storm let loose a little, she could've easily destroyed this plane, and if that happened, the only ones who would survive would be you, Storm, Colossus, and possibly Jean; everyone else would die from this altitude. Secondly, if you're that eager to see a fight, wait until we arrive at the school; we have specific rooms for such occurrences." Stated Beast with a slight frown as he looked at Pharaoh, who begrudgingly nodded.

"Alright then, so when are we arriving at the school? We've been flying for a while already; I'm pretty sure N. Salem isn't that far away from Queens." Replied Pharaoh as he calmed down and sat properly in his seat while observing his surroundings through the plane.

"Well, I'm glad you asked since we've actually just arrived." Said Beast with a slight smirk as he set down the textbook in his hand and grabbed the plane's steering wheel, taking control as he landed it.

Surprised by Beast's words, I looked around me, and down below, I saw it, a quarter-mile track, which was opening up and revealing a platform for the Blackbird to land; however, it was to the left where I noticed a large mansion full of students walking around, some of them were even outside.

The landing was quick and gentle; when the Blackbird was on the platform, it lowered back underground while the ground above us sealed itself, leaving us in darkness, but once we finally stopped, the area was illuminated by bright lights.

'Hmm, this isn't the only plane they have.' Mused Pharaoh with a raised eyebrow as he looked at another blackbird to his right, which was considerably smaller.

Standing up, I exited the cockpit behind Beast and saw everyone was already heading down underneath to the cargo hold while I grabbed Jean's backpack and waited for her to finish speaking with Gwen.

"Thanks for calling Gwen; I have to go." Said Jean with a slight smile as she glanced at Pharaoh and chuckled before hanging up the phone.

"Gwen wanted me to tell you-" Remarked Jean with a smirk as she approached Pharaoh, though he cut her off.

"That I'm a stupid brute? Yeah, I heard her, Jean, and when I mean I heard her, I don't mean through the phone." Said Pharaoh blandly as he looked at Jean, shaking his head before following behind her.

Exiting the plane, we approached the six standing in the distance by a circular silver door with a large X.

'This will be an interesting vacation.' Mused Pharaoh lightly as he followed behind the six alongside a slightly excited Jean.
