Sitting down on the couch, Jean was sitting next to me while lying on my lap; on the opposite side of the couch, Pete and Gwen were seated together, though they weren't nearly as close as we were, which was funny since I could tell Gwen wanted to make a move, but she was too embarrassed.
"So, which movie are we watching first? It better be a good one." Asked Tut curiously as he played with Jean's lustrous red hair before glancing at Gwen, who had the controller in hand.
"We were watching mine first, and I picked a classic: Scary Movie. It's not that scary, but it's funny, so that should count for something." Remarked Gwen as she fiddled with the controller before pressing a button, causing the TV to play the movie.
"Lame, but since it's Scary Movie, we'll let it slide, Gwen." Said Pete lightly while eating popcorn, causing Gwen to hit his shoulder while he smirked.
Just as the movie was beginning to start, several beeps from the kitchen sounded out, causing us all to look at Gwen since she was the last one inside the kitchen.
"Can you be a dear, Jean? I'm already comfortable, and I don't want to get up." Remarked Gwen with a beautiful smile as she looked at Jean, who rolled her eyes at her laziness, but she helped nonetheless.
Following Gwen's words, a floating bag of popcorn emerged from the kitchen and headed to Gwen, who grabbed it out of the air just as the movie started.
"Thanks, Jean." Said Gwen quietly as she blew Jean a kiss, though Jean was already paying attention to the movie.
Yep, both Gwen and Pete also know about Jean being a mutant; it wasn't until about a few months ago, the day of my birthday, that Jean finally gathered enough courage to tell them about her being a mutant. For nearly the past four years, only Sara, Mom, and I knew Jean was a mutant, and although I had tried persuading Jean to tell Pete and Gwen, given how the world ostracized mutants, it was understandable that Jean would be scared and hesitant to tell anyone, especially two of her best friends.
However, just as I knew what would happen, neither Gwen nor Pete cared that Jean was a mutant; if anything, they loved her more now, considering she could do things like what she just did with Gwen's popcorn. Jean still hasn't told her parents about her being a mutant, and while I do think she should tell them, that's her decision to make, not mine, so I've kept quiet about it. Speaking of powers, right after Jean told them she was a mutant, I figured why the hell not and told them about my powers.
The older I get, the less and less I care about my powers coming known; I mean, I'm not about to go out there and purposely show off my powers or anything, but I've lived in this world long enough to understand, so long as I don't show off too much, I'm not that special. There are people who can wield metal, control minds, manipulate the weather, stretch their bodies like luffy, and many more things, so someone like me isn't all that impressive, though that's as long as I don't go overboard when using my powers and start lifting mountains like their paper.
"That was a good movie, not that scary, but it was a good movie." Remarked Jean with a nod as she stretched her body slightly before changing her position.
"So, whose next?" Asked Tut curiously as he playfully poked Jean's cheek while looking up at the TV that was rolling the end credits.
"I'm going next; I got a really scary movie." Stated Jean with a confident smile as she swatted Tut's hand away before floating the controller out of Gwen's hand and into her own.
"What movie is it, Jean?" Asked Peter curiously while Gwen leaned against his shoulder, the two looking at Jean.
"Heh, it's this one: The Ring." Declared Jean with a grin, and without any hesitation, she pressed play.
"The Ring? Oh, I know that one, the one with the little girl and the well? I haven't watched it, but my Dad said it was quite scary." Said Gwen with a raised eyebrow before opening a box of Skittles while watching the TV.
"Tch, it's always little girls; what's so scary about them? I'll whoop their asses." Remarked Tut lightly with a click of his tongue as he drank a can of Sprite while everyone else just rolled their eyes at his words.

While watching the part where the Mom was watching the tape, I glanced at everyone else to see if they were scared yet, but instead, I saw Pete frowning, and it wasn't because he was frightened; if anything, it was because he looked confused.
"Hmm, that's weird. Jean, can you pause the movies real quick?" Asked Peter with furrowed brows as he stood up and headed to the front door, his sudden actions surprising everyone.
"You good, Pete? You're not scared, are you?" Questioned Gwen with a mocking smirk as she eyed Peter, who was putting on his shoes.
"No, I'm not; I just have to check something real quick. I'll be back in a few minutes." Replied Peter with a frown as he opened the door and exited the house, running down the streets, passing numerous kids trick or treating while he headed for his house.
Watching Pete leave, the three of us glanced at each other before shrugging our arms in confusion.
"It doesn't look like Pete was scared; if anything, he looked confused and partially worried." Said Tut lightly with furrowed brows as he watched Peter arrive at his house and knock on the door, only for Aunt May, dressed as a cat, to open it.
"Maybe he just suddenly remembered something?" Asked Jean, though even she knew that most likely wasn't the case.
"Doubtful; I mean, what could he possibly remember while watching this movie?" Remarked Gwen lightly while shaking her head as she looked at the TV, which was paused directly at the well, before glancing at Tut.
I watched as Pete entered the master bedroom and rummaged through his closet before finding a VHS, which looked oddly similar to the one in the movie.
'I hope that's Mr. Parker and Aunt May's sex tape instead of what I think it is.' Thought Tut with a deep frown as he saw Peter nearly fall down the stairs before exiting his house while running back to Gwen's.
A few moments later, he entered the house and locked the door behind him while holding the VHS.
"T-This, d-doesn't this look familiar." Said Peter while slightly out of breath as he walked forward and tossed the VHS to Gwen, while Jean sat upright and leaned closer to her.
"Hmm, yeah; it looks like the one in the movie. You don't think this VHS is the same one in the movies, do you, Pete?" Said Gwen lightly with furrowed brows and a frown as she examined the VHS before handing it to Jean, who did the same.
"I don't know, I just remember seeing this tape a few weeks ago when I was looking for something; at that time, I thought nothing over it, but now, just holding it feels a little freaky." Remarked Peter as he removed his shoes and sat between Gwen and Jean as he grabbed the VHS she handed him.
"Well, it looks like a normal VHS; however, Pete's right, that tape is the same as the one from the movie." Stated Pharaoh with a deep frown while eyeing the tape in Peter's hand, his words causing everyone to look at him in confusion.
"I can see the images in the film; they're all exactly the same as the ones from the movie." Added Pharaoh, causing Peter to instinctively drop the tape while everyone else backed away
"Eh, shouldn't we destroy it then?" Asked Jean as she floated the tape in the air, just seconds away from crushing it into oblivion.
"Yeah, I don't see why not." Said Gwen while she and Pete nodded, before the three all looked at Tut.
"First off, I think we're getting ahead of ourselves; this is probably just a prop VHS with no supernatural abilities or whatever. Also, on the off chance it is actually the real VHS, I think we should finish the movie before we do anything drastic; if it is truly supernatural, I don't think crushing it will solve it; that seems far too easy, in my opinion." Stated Pharaoh solemnly as he picked up the VHS and lightly blew on it before placing it on the coffee table.
"Yeah, Tut's right; we should learn all that we can about the VHS, and then we can decide what to do." Said Peter as he composed himself while nodding before sitting on the couch and grabbing the controller.
With my words, we all sat down and intently watched the rest of the movie, though we were no longer enjoying it like before. Once the movie finally ended, none of us talked as we mulled over everything we had just watched, ensuring we did not miss a single thing that could help us.
"So, what do we do now?" Asked Jean as she glanced at Gwen, Peter, and Pharaoh, who were all in their own little world before they suddenly opened their eyes.
"I think we should watch it." Said Peter seriously, his words causing everyone to stare at him like he was an idiot.
