Ch 68: Mutation and Breakthrough

Meng Wu Ya then continued.

"... To achieve the Transcendent Realm one has to have some understanding of the Heavenly Way, otherwise you wouldn't be able to breakthrough. As your understanding of the Heavenly Way grows, essence will continue to evolve by integration of those heavenly understandings into itself and all your attacks will then contain that understanding of the Heavenly Way, making them more powerful, more mysterious. As your essence continues to evolve, you will gain resistance to attacks of lower Qi grades because of the lack of Heavenly Laws integrated in the attacks."

"As far as I know when you reach the Transcendent Realm you will gain about 5-10 percent resistance to Qi attacks from anyone below, even those at the Peak of Immortal Ascension Realm. At the peak of the Transcendent Realm you would have about 25% resistance. In the Saint Realm it would start from 30% and go to the peak till 60%. As for anything higher, I don't know."

As Meng Wu Ya finished, Yang Feng absorbed all that knowledge. There were a few things that Meng Wu Ya himself wasn't clear about because of his lower cultivation and view of things. But Yang Feng with his knowledge could guess it. He knows that from Origin Returning Realm, the main source of power used in combat mostly shifts from Qi to Laws (Shi, Domain, etc.).

'According to this, it can be deduced that the realms from Transcendent to Saint King are just there to prepare the body, prepare the essence of the cultivator, to make it strong enough to be able to withstand the power of laws.'

But there was one thing that puzzled him. 'if we gain resistance to lower grade Qi attacks by comprehending the Heavenly Way and it increases with each realm, so does that mean that we could become immune to it by increasing our realm high enough?...', he narrowed his eyes and continued to think. 'No. There is a fundamental difference between resistance and immunity, especially in cultivation worlds. Even if someone has 100% resistance to something doesn't mean he has an immunity to it, it just makes him more resilient against that thing.'

'Although, in a way that could be true because from Origin Returning Realm, the main source of power becomes Shi, and in Origin King Realm it becomes domains Which evolves from Shi and after that the domain is replaced by controlling the laws of the world. But ... That doesn't mean that Qi isn't used in higher levels, otherwise there wouldn't be Source Qi and Emperor Qi. *Sigh* well, the rest of it is for the future me to comprehend as it is beyond the current me to understand this without experiencing it.'

Having finished his thoughts. Yang Feng felt light, like some mental burden has been lifted from him. he then looked at Meng Wu Ya and thanked him and went towards the room previously given to him. After entering his room he sat down cross-legged and thought to himself. 'I have already reached the peak of Immortal Ascension Realm in all regards. it's time to breakthrough to the Transcendent Realm. But first...'

He planned to do something before breaking through the next realm.

Gaining a Mutated Knowledge Sea. For this he had thought extensively for quite sometime now. In the original, there were only three types of mutated knowledge sea shown, a fire one, a poison one, and an ice one. But what Yang Feng wanted was a different, he wanted to make it even more unique and he had an idea how to do so.

the next moment Yang Feng submerged his consciousness into his Knowledge Sea. He looked around his knowledge sea which was quite different from those of normal people. People normally have a completely empty blue colored knowledge sea, with only a blue 'sea', but he although also had blue knowledge sea, in it, it contained a huge and majestic palace along with a five colored lotus island that floated a bit away from the palace, making it not so empty.

Once entering his knowledge sea, he when towards the Soul Warming Lotus and sat down on it, though he remained suspended above it not sitting on it directly.

as he sat on it, he took a deep breath. He was going to do something that he had been delaying for sometime now. He will be using a function of his Soul Cultivation Technique that he didn't use since he created the technique because he wasn't sure his soul would be able to withstand the pressure placed on it, the Big Bang Strengthening Function, as he calls it.

{A-Note: Don't say it, *sigh* I know my naming sense is crap.}

As he activated the technique, he felt a sudden shift around him. His surroundings suddenly changed as he was instantly sent to place full of darkness. This dark place was filled with a terrifying and ancient ... no, it was filled with a horrifying and beyond ancient aura.

He then felt as if that aura started to tear at him, at his soul as if trying to assimilate him into itself, but he resisted it. Just as he had stabilized himself in the chaotic aura, something happened.

A loud but at the same time silent boom sounded and a huge energy started to circulate in that place in a disorder. As the energy reached him, he felt that ancient aura and the influx of energy tearing his soul apart, trying to assimilate him at a much greater speed, causing him to shout out loud in immense pain.

Just as he felt that he couldn't hold on much longer, he felt another aura suddenly envelope him as it protected him from the violent energy, even helping him in healing. This aura that helped him heal, he knew came from the Lotus and was his greatest source of insurance for attempting the technique.

After sometime when he recovered, he saw around him that the place had returned to the previous darkness, without an indication of the previous bang. He knew what this meant but he still continued to circulate the technique.

The next moment, the same bang happened as he was again put under immense pain of his soul tearing and breaking down. As he continued to practice and survive the explosions for who knows how long, he suddenly felt a change in himself.

During the entire process of his soul getting damaged and torn before healing, the aura of the dark place started to merge with his soul, making it stronger and assimilating into it.

Coming to his senses at the moment, he stopped the circulation of the technique and found himself back into his knowledge sea, sitting on the lotus. He took deep breaths before he noticed something different about his knowledge sea now.

At first, his knowledge sea was completely blue but now, the sky had turned nightly black with different colored chaotic lines spread around randomly, it also excluded a desolute and ancient aura like the one he felt during the Strengthening Process.

He also noticed that his soul seems to have become stronger than before. Upon checking, he found that his Soul Cultivation had reached the 3rd Order Transendant Realm. 'looks like my plan worked... But, what is the final product of it?', Yang Feng thought as he looked at his knowledge sea, but he couldn't find anything different about it except the sky and the aura it released.

After observing for sometime, he found nothing and chose to just wait and see, he wasn't worried because he instinctively felt whatever had happened was good for his future development. 'With this all my goals for this small world are completed... The time is near, Mother and Father would surely send someone to look for me as well, looks like I should finish my work before returning.'

Yang Feng thought to himself. When all the Yang Clan Young Masters are called back, he too will be called as his parents have told him. Right now he was able to breakthrough to the Transendant Realm for sometime but he had delayed it a bit. Now that the time to return was near, he wanted to breakthrough because if he went back right now, he won't have the time to breakthrough quietly without attracting alot of attention from all the Transcendent Realm cultivators in the world, which he found troublesome.

Having decided on that, he exited his knowledge sea. As soon as he exited, he felt something, He felt his breakthrough coming. He had previously been holding back his breakthrough by using his Qi condensing technique, but now he was unable to do so. Anyways, all of his objectives have been completed so there wasn't any need to further stop a breakthrough.

He then sent a message to Meng Wu Ya who was sitting in his room, <Old Meng, I'm going to breakthrough now. I want you make sure no one disturbs me>. Yang Feng quickly exited the room and flew to the sky because the room would have been destroyed by his breakthrough.

As he flew to the sky, the world energy in the vicinity grew restless. The magnitude and scope of it was so much that everyone on the Medicine King Valley and the Town below could feel the immense surge of world energy, no matter who it was, from the lowest body refiners to the immortal ascension ones.

Yang Feng ignored the disturbance and sat down cross-legged in the air being at the center of the disturbance. By now everyone on Xiao Fu Sheng's peak was standing outside with Meng Wu Ya, looking at Yang Feng in astonishment and awe. This was because they could feel the amount of Qi being gathered towards him.

Yang Feng oblivious to them, concentrated on reviewing all that he understood about the Heavenly Way, which because of the understanding he gained from the spider mother and Phoenix variant eagle was more than a common 2nd Order Transendant.

After all that, He then looked at a small bean sized ball located at the center of his dantian. This was the last, fifth and the strongest layer of the Foundation Rejuvenation Nirvana Pill and he will be using it to completely refine all of his previous cultivation foundation, making sure there were no shortcomings in it.

He focused and started to absorb the last of the medical power of the pill, which was many times greater than the last four layers combined. He felt the medical power going through his dantian, then his meridians and veins, his blood, bone marrow, bones, muscles, skin. It went through all of his body and whereever it passed and found something to fix or strengthen, it did.

As the process ended, with more than half of the medical power still remaining. In his mind Yang Feng heard a cracking sound which was followed by a booming sound. Outside, his aura rose significantly at the same time the booming sounded in his mind. At the same time dark clouds instantly gathered in the sky. The clouds had covered the entirety of the valley along with the town and area beyond the town surrounding the valley.

This commotion attracted everyone's attention as everyone looked towards the Medicine Valley. Everyone only had one though, 'what happened to make such a terrifying phenomena to appear.'

Yang Feng meanwhile, still immersed in his cultivation, gathered the remaining medical energy, planning to complete the last step of his MORTAL Body Cultivation. He gathered the energy to the last of his unrefined parts of the body.

These were the nine orifices of a body. Namely the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, external gentials and anus. Like the seven Chakras he had previously refined, these nine orifices also existed in the form of 'hidden points/gates' in a body, and can be refined to remove any limit placed on them. When Yang Feng refines these points, his body would have been completely refined and he would enter the DIVINE BODY Stage.

He first gathered the energy and opened the hidden gates of his two ears orifices, which would drastically increased his hearing capability. Next was the two noses orifices, which would increased his sense of smell alot. Next came the tongue orifice which would increase his sense of taste.

After these five were opened, he went for the gential orifice. Upon opening it, he felt increase in his blood energy and Primordial Yang (you know which) energy, which in turn increased his body strength.

After that he opened the anus orifice which eliminated his need of ever going to washroom, though at his level he was already capable of it as his Qi did the work of eliminating waste, now he didn't even need to do so with Qi as his body would automatically do so.

He then opened the two eyes orifices which would enhance his vision beyond what it already was. Upon opening all of the orifices, his body felt light, as if he had reached perfection. At the same time he heard the same booming sound, but this time from his body.

Outside, as the dark clouds gathered and the lightning was ready to stike, the clouds suddenly expanded, nearly tripling in a second, reaching more than thousand miles, engulfing a few nearby cities.

Every inhabitant under the dark clouds felt the immense power contained in them and only had two thoughts, if a divine treasure was being formed or if someone was being punished by the Heavens.
