"Huh??? But you said that you were thinking about boarding the same bus with the wandering soul before, right????"

Aiden replied with an awkward laugh in an attempt to salvage the situation but it only made him look more suspicious than he already was.

And Nathalia was obviously not buying it.

"First of all, I can't see the stars that you were referring to."

"Really??? There is... Look closely..."

Aiden urged as he pointed to the night sky.

"Really???? then what was with that bag all about?!"

Nathalia replied in a flat tone before she puckered her lips and motioned to the direction where a black duffel bag was left lying on the ground.

Apparently, the blind ghost brought Aiden's bag with her as she chased after him.

And when Nathalia interrupted them and halted their movement for a split second, the blind ghost dropped the bag on the ground.

"Ohhhh... It is a bag????? What is it doing over there??? Weird....."

Aiden said, but this time, bids of sweat were already starting to form on his forehead despite that night being spectacularly cold. 

"Is there any chance that you were trying to run away from me???"

There was an obvious hint of sadness in Nathalia's voice when she asked that, and she looked straight at Aiden's eyes as she waited for his reply

All that Aiden could see at that moment was Nathalia's pair of silver-grey eyes.

He instantly got drowned to those pool of silver-grey eyes and before he knew it for some unknown reason Aiden was compelled to speak the truth

So before he could even stop himself from spilling the beans, he already started confessing to Nathalia without hiding anything.

"I want to stay as far as possible to you. I am scared of you. I truly am! I don't want to live with you in the Underworld. I want to go somewhere, anywhere as long as I am far beyond your reach. Wherever it is."

Aiden was just as shocked as Nathalia was when he realized what he just said.

For the second time on that single night, Aiden felt helpless for it was already too late. He could no longer take back his words.

Pain clearly registered in Nathalia's eyes when she learned what Aiden truly felt about her and about their fated love

As the queen of the darkness, she was gifted the talent of unraveling the desire of one's heart

There was no way Aiden was bluffing it.

He really meant those words when he said that he did not want to be with her.

He hated being with her more than anything else!

"Is that so???"

Nathalia asked in a nonchalant voice which made her aura more frightening that it usually was.

"I am so sorry, Nathalia. I did not mean to hurt you...."

"It is okay..."

She said with a simpered smile before she raised an eyebrow.

"But sorry Aiden, I am not sorry for doing this..."

"Huh??? What do you mea------"

And before Aiden could even finish his question, he felt that something was moving under his feet until it seemed to him that he could no longer feel anything below him.

When he looked down to check what was happening and what made him feel that way, he was petrified!

His soul almost escaped his body out of shock when he realized that the ground where he was standing just a moment ago already opened up a hole for him and he was now standing above at what seemed to be a void space!

AhHHHHRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!

Aiden shouted at the top of his lungs as he started the free fall, then he saw that the ground was slowly closing above him completely swallowing his entirety

"AHHHRRRGGGGG!!!!"

Aiden continued to scream until the last shed of light vanished from his sight and all he could hear was the echo of his own voice.

When the darkness prevailed and overwhelmed the place, oblivion soon also took over Aiden.

Meanwhile, above the ground, Nathalia was staring at the starless night sky with a poker face

"You are destined to be mine Aiden. If you need someone to blame with your destiny, blame those who lived above us for giving you to me. But there is certainly no way I would let you go."

Standing alone in the empty road, Nathalia once again looked at the closing portal that swallowed Aiden a few seconds ago.

When the portal completely closed, Nathalia flicked her right hand and the next moment, she too was also nowhere to be seen.
