REQUESTING AN AUDIENCE

Just as when Aileen was losing her last strand of hope, Jace went to her side and offered her some word of reassurance.

"I'll see what I can do at my end to stop this. Rest assured that as long as you don't wish to get married to anyone, no one would be able to marry you."

Jace said with conviction on his voice as though he could not get any more certain about it; and right after patting Aileen's shoulder in a consoling manner, he acted as though he was about to take his leave.

But Aileen stopped him by grabbing the side of his shirt.

She did not wish to be left behind on her own knowing that some random ghost was after her and wanted to tie the knot with her above everything else.

"Are you going to leave me just like that?"

She asked with a terrified expression and Aileen no longer cared whether she sounded too clingy at that moment.
