ENDING UP AS A BRIDE WITHOUT HER KNOWING IT
"Of course, this won't come off unless they get what they want."
Jace muttered under his breath with a scoff.
His jaw also visibly tightened but it was gone almost in an instant. The change in his emotion was so fast that it was gone way before Aileen could even notice any change from his expression.
There was a flicker of emotion that reflected in his eyes but it vanished just as soon as it appeared. It did not even show in his face as he did a great job in sporting a blank expression.
He held Aileen's hand just as when he exhaled an exasperated sigh to calm himself. But as soon as his skin made contact with the ring, flashes of foreign memory came rushing to his mind.
The heavy influx of emotions and memory combined caught Jace off guard and he ended up staggering backward.
"Jace! Are you alright? What's wrong?"
A clear edge of concern could be heard from Aileen's voice as she supported Jace to remain standing on his feet.
