Aiden obviously did not expect this sudden turn of events, but regardless of how clueless he was to what exactly was happening at that moment, he still chose to follow the orders and did what he was told.

Likewise, Miguel also raised both of his arms in the air.

However, he did not look as shocked as compared to how Aiden was.

In fact, he did not appear to be bothered at all by the sudden appearance of the police forces.

If any, his expression even seemed to show that he already expected as much as this to happen.

The newly arrived officers were just as shocked as Miguel had been when they first arrived at the scene.

Because the first thing that greeted their eyes when they arrived was the messed up room and the pile of rubbles at the back end corner.

"We received a call reporting for Mr. Harvey Coolman's wrongdoings. Where is he?"

One of the officers who barged inside the wrecked room said with a voice full of authority.

The atmosphere inside the room immediately changed and went stale the moment the enforcers arrived.

The place was now quite tense since the officers were also armed with guns and they were currently pointing the barrel of their guns at Miguel and Aiden whom they found suspicious at that moment.

Which was to be expected.

Because, after all, who would not find it suspicious if you arrived at the office of a suspected murderer and found out that the place was now turned into a pile of rubbles even before authorities could conduct their proper seizure?

Some might even take it as obstruction of justice at some point.

Between the two men who were caught on the scene, Aiden was the one who looked more petrified.

Especially so since he was the one who came face to face with one of the officers when he was about to open the door and ran outside

Good thing that Miguel already expected as much as this to happen so he easily recovered from his shock and regained his composure in no time.

"It was me who made the report, officer. The suspect is my uncle, there he is. You can take him now."

Miguel said as he pointed at the unconscious man lying on the floor.

The officer who seemed to be the de facto leader of the law enforcement team followed the direction to where Miguel was pointing his finger.

And it only then did they noticed that there was indeed an inconspicuous foot that stuck out from within the pile of rubbles at the back end corner of the room.

"Errr????"

If not for the foot's occasional twitching, they might even have suspect that the unconscious man was already dead.

"Quick! Fetched him."

The officer gave his order right away and his subordinates immediately did as what he told.

After giving his order, the officer looked back at Miguel and gave him an inquisitive look.

"Forgive my manners, my name is officer Sanchez."

The officer introduced himself first to Miguel and Aiden and after exchanging handshakes with them he went on asking his questions again.

"What happened here???"

"My uncle tried to attack us when he learned that I reported him to the police so we had some small fight. The fight eventually goes out of hand and before we knew it, it already brought all this mess. It was all but self-defense, officer."

Miguel made a straight-up lie without batting an eye and Aiden supported him right away.

"Yes, that is exactly what happened here."

Officer Sanchez clearly knew that it was not as simple as they made it out to be. His gut feeling was telling him that there was more to the story than what the two young men were telling him.

Considering how messed up the office turned out after the small fight that they mentioned, they were clearly hiding something from him

But with no way to verify their statement of the two witnesses available nor a way to ascertain his hunch, the officer in charge had no choice but to believe their words in the meantime.

In any case, they would still have to answer a few of their questions at the precinct later on.

Aside from the unconscious Dr. Coolman who would have to answer for his rime, Aiden, as well as Miguel, would also have to be taken into custody and would be subjected to further questioning.

"You two would also have to come with us at the precinct to answer some questions for the police report. Okay?"

"Sure! No problem."

Aiden and Miguel agreed on readily.

"Mr. Harvey Coolman, you were under arrest for the suspected murder of Samara Morgan. You have the right to remained silent. Anything that you would have to say could be used on the court of law against you. You have blah blah blah..."

The law enforcers went on doing their proper procedures while Aiden and Miguel were also taken into separate police mobile so they could give their statements on the police station and answer some questions.

If anyone was wondering where Nathalia had been all this time, well apparently as soon as the enforcers force an entry in the room, Nathalia immediately turned invincible.

Despite spending quite some time with Aiden these past few days, the Queen of Darkness was still not used to dealing with people.

So to avoid herself being subjected in an awkward situation with some bunch of mundanes she was not familiar with, Nathalia decided to turn invisible to save herself with this trouble.
