Husband (Edited)

"Jeff, I…"

Jeff covered the distance to her, and her breathing hitched. He slowly touched her face and pushed back a strand of her stray hair. "You don't need to be frightened, wifey."

Wifey? Her mind went blank at that.

"Amy," Jason's voice brought her back and she found a pair of concerned eyes staring into hers.

"Jeff," she said quietly as she slowly moved back. "I am full, I will go to bed." The speed at which she left the room, even she was astonished. After closing her bedroom door, she sighed. "Maybe I should compete in the next Olympic marathon."

She was hardly half in the room when her door was knocked. This has got to be some joke. Reluctantly she walked to the door and yanked it open, only to meet Stormy staring back at her.

"Hello," she said shyly.

Regaining her composure, she ushered her in. "Come in."

"I didn't mean to intrude…"

Amy cut her. "It's fine really."

Sitting on the sofa in the room, she tapped beside her where Stormy sat. The silence between them became awkward until Stormy spoke. "Amy, I don't know where to start, I am so ashamed of my aunt. She is kind of unreasonable at times."

Amy shrugging. "It's fine really." What was she to answer with some sincerity coming from a person who had nothing to do with the incident, not to mention that she was the first one to get creative with the soup bowl?

"I am glad you are fine with us. So," she drawled a bit. "I hope you won't mind if we stay here, I mean I don't want to go back to grandpa with an aunt there, it will be awkward and tiring." She sighed as she spoke.

Slowly Amy let out her breath, there was no evading that it seemed. She forced a smile. "It's fine, the house is big enough for the whole country," she joked. "But you will have to give me time to have your rooms set up."

Stormy jumped up and stood upright. "I'll help."

Amy shook her head. "Let me attend to this, be my guest."

With that, she walked to the door, smiled at Stormy, and left the room. When the door was securely closed, she angrily matched to the living room where she found the three men seated comfortably having tea. Not backing out, she matched to the room, grabbed a confused Jeff, and dragged him out to the backyard.

"Amy." No answer. "Wifey." Amy whipped her head sharply at him.

"You hippo, how come your family is sleeping here?" she tapped her foot impatiently as she crossed her hands to her chest.

Jeff didn't say anything for a while. "Wifey, they asked to sleep here and what could I do, deny them space?"

Amy's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Since when did you become soft heart?"

Jeff winced and held the left side of his chest. "That hurts more than anything, how could you say that, wifey."

Groaning she massaged the side of her head. "Stop saying wifey, it gives me the creeps Jeff."

A smirk formed on Jeff's face. "What name do you prefer, darling, honey, babe?"

A scream stopped him. Was he going mental or was she instead? What was wrong with the day? Why was Jeff even romantic or was it a lovey mess? Geez, this was far from what she could handle.

I am sorry for updating slowly, I a still working on it. Thanks for the support people.
